You're dissing about one of my favorite Batman covers because it's hilarious. Ace, in his civilian identity, had a distinctive star pattern on his forehead. Because of events in Ace's first appearance, a lost german shepherd with the star marking became associated with Bruce Wayne. Then Batman needed to use Ace to track some bad guys...hence the need for a mask to hide Ace's secret identity. It all makes perfect sense.
This the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. If you need sleep I hope u get some. The campiness of Ace the batdog is one of the most charming things of the DC Batman series. Embrace it. I do. I think you be great at stand up comedy.
You look like you've been living in an underground bunker surviving The Apocalypse, and yet you've stayed awake for days pondering your hatred for this cover, as you sit before your 1980's model TV to broadcast this insight.

Hey Dave, in Batman 9 (1942) in a 2:17 story called "the white whale", Batman and Robin are in a doomed submarine, when in an effort to save Robin, Batman slugs Robin knocking him out, then loads him into a torpedo tube and launches him toward the surface. Wouldnt that automatically drown him? Arent you still breathing when you are unconsious? Im not sure thats how you launch a torpedo anyway LOL. Not a cover, still dumb though.
Most DC Silver Age superhero comics are infantile garbage written by old guys who were just hacking out whatever absurd crp they could think of for a paycheck.
Maybe the dog was using an early form of AI... Alsatian Intelligence.

Did you ever watch the old George Reeves Superman show? Same thing. After the first season the shows got goofier! Goofy, fanciful adventures were deemed "safe" for kiddies!
In fairness to this cover story, it's pretty funny! I prefer it over those stupid Bat- transformation stories... Which STILL pop up now and then!

a dogs tactile smell is 200 times stronger than a humans / that is how the dog knew who batman and robin was, not by there appearance in costume , and there you have it i am a better detective than the dog. you ,and batman.mystery solved,your welcome.
