I was listening to this album a lot when it first came out. This song is my most loved at and hated song by WCAR. The beginning of this song was playing as I was headed home the night I "unplugged" my father on 7-9-12. Around the time the song started I got a phone call stating he was gone. We as the family knew he wouldn't go with us still there, about 15 minutes later, as time started into the 9th, we found out we were right, he wouldn't go with us there. As my father was brain dead for about a week before we found out. The beginning is spot on, I hadn't heard his voice in days. But I was always reminded as his son that no matter the losses we come into with life, to press on, help others, care for others and look forward to the next day. I inherited a lot of my fathers genetic "defects". As a 27 y/o as of 2019, I live in pain everyday, from awakening to sleeping. I'm pretty okay with that. My father taught me even though things can be tough, keep your head up, love those around you and care for those in need. This song is a perfect example of how he led his life. How he taught his 2 sons. I, no matter the pain, adversity or how hard the waves hit will never give up. Regardless of how a man is measured, I am here to survive and help those in need, whether more or less than me. My father, David Delmar Carter, and WCAR taught me this growing up.This song will always bring tears to my eyes. For too many reasons. I never shared this story with anyone, revolving the song and the occurrence. This is the first time I've heard this song in years, popped out of nowhere. Still brings me to tears years later.
i am not & will not be defeated. i have given everything in my life for this. i'm counting down the days. though i've been broken & beaten i know i can't let it, i know i can't let it win.
I love how, in a website centered around views, this is the first thing that comes up when you type in "views ". And that's the way it should be. I love WCAR.
Probably because Asking Alexandria has more of a message you would find in a lot of modern pop music (drinking, sex, etc.) and WCAR has a lot of motivational messages like, "What you regret makes you a better person," and "I will keep on fighting." I personally love BOTH bands, but I definately feel the exact same way as you.
i picked up this album and i had the last album and both albums and all songs recorded by these guys have yet to disappoint me to this day! :D i love this band! :D
Your music has saved me in many ways! Ant time I'm down and depressed as hell. I listen to you guys idk what I do without your tunes I probably would have stopped fighting a long time ago'
My eight year old cousin loves this album. He begged me to put it on his iPod. His mom got mad at me for putting "Devil music" on it. I told her to actually really listen to the whole album, word for word... Now she's a wcar fan. Yup.
At the chrous, guitar sounds like Our Last Night- Reason to Love, then afterward almost sonds like Chiodos- Notes in Constellatio,, then on the bridge when kyle said to keep me from my self, it sounds like Saosin- Some Sense of Security. Overall i like this song damn more, i like when lead singer said "Though i've been broken down and i'm beaten" i just can't forget it
This song is so amazing and beautiful just like their other songs too :') Thanks so much Josh for these incredible lyrics -3 I have to say that this band has saved my life -3
Yeah! In the concert, I noticed that Danny didn't scream that much which disappointed me because one of the biggest reason why I LOVE Asking Alexandria is because of his screams! He pretty much just held the microphone over the audience so they could scream the lyrics of the songs!
I remember my first tour. IT wasn't that bad I was USAF Aircraft mech. I want to tell all of you who want to join and make a difference... You WILL. My goodness you will... Trust me it will be worth it...
Ohkay, so my favorite song was Roads That Never End and Views That Never Cease for the longest time, untill I heard this song. And now I can't decided.... I love them both so so much
I just tried something out and its amazing. Live they should play Road's and start the piano rift at the beginning of this song right when Kyle sings "This is how we love" at the end of Roads. It makes an absoulte great lead in.
This is def not metalcore more like post hardcore , might sound silly but there's a major difference . Saw Wcar couple weeks ago sounded great live , real natural sounding . Excited to see what the new record is like
Asking Alexandria is my #1 favorite band ever! Even though they aren't as positive and soothing to listen to, it's the kind of shit that I just LOVE rocking out to every time I listen to them. I'm seeing them live on Nov 16 so im hoping they wont be drunk like hell again lol. If they are, then hopefully the next metalcore band wont suck balls xD
A "Continuation" of my favorite song from the 1st album?! What more could I ask for? The album is already fucking amazing! I cannot wait to represent you guys on my body xD
It makes me so mad my parents don't accept this is the kind of music I like listening to. They always judge them before knowing what their songs are about, it pisses me off so bad. If only they knew how much this band has done for me, they probably wouldn't judge them as much, or I hope so.
The music is a bit heavy for post-hardcore, and David's scream isn't really a post-hardcore style. Kyle definitely has a post-hardcore style singing voice, though. They're an interesting combination of post-hardcore with a bit of deathcore influence. You're lucky! They've gotten so good live now.
i told my friend about this album now we are best friends ;) nah but serious this band is really great and it inspires alot of people to change their lifes witch is awsume :D
i hate how people listen to this and think "ew stupid fucking emo shit" when if you actualy listen to it, the way the song is put together, everything is perfect and the lyrics are actualy meaning full, this is true beauty, something we have to find in the song...
@ianboy0502 I'm going to see them live in a week and I'm hoping they play this song and Road's with that lead in. If not I might just have to scream at them to start over. :P
If anything, I believe Asking Alexandria IS THE SHIT!! They're my all time favorite band and I'll always love their music. We Came As Romans is also up there with Asking Alexandria and I can't wait to purchase their new album. They're both great bands and they deserve as much fame as possible. No matter how shitty other bands I like decide to become, I can always count on We Came As Romans and Asking Alexandria to never disappoint me! :)
Kyle might not be the best singer live but he is a great studio singer, and it the mix works great on their studio music. The band wouldn't be the same with a new singer. So whether you like him or not, he helps make the band.
These guys make a really really good studio album I'm loving it! I just don't see why people see them live though... They sound nothing like this.. Lol.
i honestly be leave that scremo song lyrics have more meaning then any other kinda genres. take We Came As Romans song (Dreams) for instance. that helped me finally talk to my brother after years over some thing stupid. the lyrics to that song changed are relationship for the best. ^_^
The first four notes of this song reminds me of another song but I can't think of it!!! The first four notes are like the entire melody of another song can someone help me think of it?!?!!?
At 0:28 the it is written that this song is in essence a continuation of the lyrics and song called "Beliefs and Dreams" found on their To Plant A Seed Album. I checked and yes the piano melody is very similar to the melody found in this song. Hope this helps.
my mom absolutely hated this type of music and she called it "trash and garbage" i told her to listen to one song all the way through and since then she has become a WCAR fan and she sings along to kyle's parts not dave's lol
This may be a weird thought, but every time I listen to "Asking Alexandria," I think that life is shit! But when I listen to "We Came As Romans," I start to think that life is wonderful and pretty. Weird how music works that way!
I was listening to this album a lot when it first came out. This song is my most loved at and hated song by WCAR. Yeah, I read all that. I'm sorry about it as another man. I'm not a praying man, but if I do ever, I will include you in them
@@karnagefails333 im sorry i didnt respond in a timely manner. Thankyou.
Rest in Peace Kyle 💔
These guys are becoming one of my favorite bands. They give it all they've got and that's respectable. Love these dudes.
They're great!
i am not & will not be defeated. i have given everything in my life for this. i'm counting down the days. though i've been broken & beaten i know i can't let it, i know i can't let it win.
my absolute damn favorite clean vocals ever.
I havent heard your voice in days
Easily one of their best songs
I love how, in a website centered around views, this is the first thing that comes up when you type in "views ". And that's the way it should be. I love WCAR.
Excellent song.
this and mis//understanding seem to be the best songs off the album
This album is a masterpiece from what I've heard, can't wait for the album to drop!
I can't seem to stop replaying this song. It's so meaningful, and yet, extremely AWESOME!
Probably because Asking Alexandria has more of a message you would find in a lot of modern pop music (drinking, sex, etc.) and WCAR has a lot of motivational messages like, "What you regret makes you a better person," and "I will keep on fighting." Roads that dont end and views that never cease to keep me from myself
I listened to we came as romans' new songs and all I got was this eargasm
i picked up this album and i had the last album and both albums and all songs recorded by these guys have yet to disappoint me to this day! :D i love this band! :D
I absolutely LOVE this new album. Much improvment, and extremely amazing.
I seriously can not wait any longer for this!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
love how this album tops their last one and still has the "wcar sound" to it
Your music has saved me in many ways! Ant time I'm down and depressed as hell. I listen to you guys idk what I do without your tunes I probably would have stopped fighting a long time ago'
I will not be defeated
My eight year old cousin loves this album. He begged me to put it on his iPod. His mom got mad at me for putting "Devil music" on it. I told her to actually really listen to the whole album, word for word... Now she's a wcar fan. Yup.
Who cares if he sings good or not. It makes WCAR :)
At the chrous, guitar sounds like Our Last Night- Reason to Love, then afterward almost sonds like Chiodos- Notes in Constellatio,, then on the bridge when kyle said to keep me from my self, it sounds like Saosin- Some Sense of Security. the genre of WeCameAsRomans is power-core def: bands that but true effort in every aspect of making music (:
This song is so amazing and beautiful just like their other songs too :') Thanks so much Josh for these incredible lyrics -3 I have to say that this band has saved my life -3
Yeah! In the concert, I noticed that Danny didn't scream that much which disappointed me because one of the biggest reason why I LOVE Asking Alexandria is because of his screams! He pretty much just held the microphone over the audience so they could scream the lyrics of the songs!
This Wcar album actually deserves more total views.

I've been waiting for more songs from their new album to be up. so far im loving this album. I have yet to find a song by them that i dont like
Beautiful.
I just tried something out and its amazing. Live they should play Road's and start the piano rift at the beginning of this song right when Kyle sings "This is how we love" at the end of Roads. It makes an absoulte great lead in.
2:27 this is how i show you my love
Kyle Pavone. You are the best singer I've ever heard of /m\ best clean vocals ever
Tyler carter is great too!
That too 👍
Luis Freyre i have to admit though, i've seen him live (before he got better) and he was terrible at live shows
Lui Freyre Damn, man. I liked your comment but check out ERRA.
Rip

Man, this shit is still so good
This is def not metalcore more like post hardcore , might sound silly but there's a major difference . Saw Wcar couple weeks ago sounded great live , real natural sounding . Excited to see what the new record is like
Piano sounds bad ass in this :)
Asking Alexandria is my #1 favorite band ever! Even though they aren't as positive and soothing to listen to, it's the kind of shit that I just LOVE rocking out to every time I listen to them. It makes me so mad my parents don't accept this is the kind of music I like listening to. They always judge them before knowing what their songs are about, it pisses me off so bad. If only they knew how much this band has done for me, they probably wouldn't judge them as much, or I hope so.
i love all of their lyrics :)
listened to them.....they broke one of my headphones......maby its because of their pure wonderfulness.
I recently found out they're doing something like trancecore. I've always been searching for a name for it, I think trancecore fit's pretty well.
LOVE IT!!!!
@rjdojo99 good thinkin, makes sense too , it shall be called "roads that dont end, and the views that never cease, to keep me from myself"
I've yet to dislike a song on this album.
my future children love this album and they havent even been born yet. deal with that.
I really need the instrumental version of this
@24PzDiv Hey, thank you for serving our country.
This song was published on my birthday, September 9th!! :D
The music is a bit heavy for post-hardcore, and David's scream isn't really a post-hardcore style. Kyle definitely has a post-hardcore style singing voice, though. They're an interesting combination of post-hardcore with a bit of deathcore influence.

Kyle might not be the best singer live but he is a great studio singer, and it the mix works great on their studio music. The band wouldn't be the same with a new singer. So whether you like him or not, he helps make the band.
@beckthebacon19 wow will u post a vid showing it?
These guys make a really really good studio album I'm loving it! I just don't see why people see them live though... They sound nothing like this.. Lol.
@beckthebacon19 are you serious?? hahaha EPIC
i hate how joshua is given so little recognition
Michael Arredondo Seems they give THEMSELVES enough recognition to go around.
Why do the videos keep becoming private ?
does anyne have there demo cd?
@PassiveThoughts lol same but its my nephew and he is 7 lol
Can anyone tell what's the name of the genre of this song ?
well your unborn kids have an awesome taste in music my friend
i honestly be leave that scremo song lyrics have more meaning then any other kinda genres. take We Came As Romans song (Dreams) for instance. that helped me finally talk to my brother after years over some thing stupid. the lyrics to that song changed are relationship for the best. ^_^
@kosiandabbi Yeah, I like about 3 songs off the new TDWP, but there isn't a bad song on the WCAR album.
Lyrics if i may ask?
Thanks but it wasn't song I was thinking of, the song I was thinking of is Jon Bellion - LIFE
Well that too lol
It sounds similar right? :P
xLineagePainx Yeah. It's "Followed Home Then Killed" by Mariah Carey
my mom absolutely hated this type of music and she called it "trash and garbage" i told her to listen to one song all the way through and since then she has become a WCAR fan and she sings along to kyle's parts not dave's lol
Fucking yesssss!
This may be a weird thought, but every time I listen to "Asking Alexandria," I think that life is shit! But when I listen to "We Came As Romans," I start to think that life is wonderful and pretty. Weird how music works that way!
@DesuNotoRocks and then Charlie Sheen does what? I believe you meant "than*"
Anyone know where i can find the piano music sheet from the beginning of this song?
Tim Tran Fuck you
Tim Tran Up your ass.
Does the intro remind anyone else of "Listen to your heart" by THC kinda?
