@@6000hall They're not really entitled though, the streamers are right to be mad imo. I wouldn't want to be forced into inadvertently advertising a company either. If you're advertising a company, yes, you are usually paid a sum of money to advertise them and it's a mutual agreement. This wasn't a mutual agreement. BK just found a loophole and ran with it. I think it's scummy but I still gotta give props where it's due. It was a good business move.
@@cal5750 Imo, they wanted an advert, not a sponsorship. I say they are entitled because they somehow assume burger king would sponsor them if not for that loophole.
@@cal5750 Well 5 dollars for 5 seconds doesn't seem bad
I think the hate BK got was justified in a way. This sets a bad precedent. A twitch stream is your little corner of the internet and streamers (i think) get to choose whether or not they want ads on it. To just let companies sneak in and dump ads where they're unwanted isn't right even if streamers are getting 3-5$. People shouldn't have to keep an eye out to mute these things because a company might want to blurt shit out against their will
Like this is kinda bad and all BUT I’m still grabbing a whopper
Factsss
Not bad at all. A company smartly using tools at their disposal. Unfortunately, they did so on a platform with nothing but entitled children.
GGShowcase78 their smart for doin it but it’s just a little cheap like someone who donates to promote there own streams or UA-cam’s
GGShowcase78
They are a multi million dollar company, they can afford thousands of ad campaigns before they’re bankrupt but they only pay 5 dollars and then promote themselves? That’s hella cheap. Every other company partner up with the streamers.
It was clever, but also extremely scummy.
They hadn’t cleared it with any streamer first if it was okay, nor did they actually pay a good sum to advertise their 7000000 dollar company on stream. It’s like if a company like Starbucks had walked into a live news segment, thrown five dollars at the people standing there and shouted to buy their products, it’s unprofessional as shit.
@@Kristian-jk2ww you know these greedy mf would stfu if Burger King just donated more money. Let's say 3-4 digits $. Streamers can block the text or they can trash talk Burger king after the donation and tell their viewers not to buy from them. That's practically Burger King giving away free money.

I thought I was genuinely going crazy watching all this. I didn't know if the start was your take on the situation and thought Burger King were being pricks, I didn't understand why all these streamers were upset, it was just a strange video to go through
If Burger King wants to donate money to me in the form of 3-5 bucks? I'll say thank you for getting me food for a day, recommend the Chicken Fries, and have a chuckle with my stream...just like all the people who aren't psychotic and interpret a donation as some kind of slap in the face.
You have to learn the mindset of libtard Commies, which all of these self important idiots are, and go to the mindset of constantly being the victim of rich people...even if your rich. They mad Burger King didn't give them thousands of dollars because they are entitled to rich people's money but BK is also a bunch of commie libtards so they think they are entitled to degree advertising on other communist publishing sites like twitch hub.
Exactly! I love BK & even if I didn't, I'd say thank you for the donation & use the money for something I do like or need. Something is wrong with these Twitch streamers. Idk if they're just too privileged & entitled that they've lost touch with reality, or they're just awful humans
FTN Iceberg I’d say a company used twitch services to their advantage. Usually yes they’d reach out to twitch steamers and pay big. But this is an example of a company stretching a budget for advertising out to MULTIPLE streamers (no matter how little an amount) to make sure the twitch community as a whole gets something instead of one or two people. In return more people get to hear the dono messages. If entitled brats wanna act like they deserve more they can go fuck themselves. What’s the difference between taking my $5 and BK’s $5? It’s $5 dollars regardless. Some people would love to receive that.
GGShowcase78 I guess I have an unpopular opinion then, imagine if Bowblax was forced to put a ten second ad I’m his video saying whatever they wanted.
Wanting 10,000 dollars from Burger King=scummy l upset because they were forced to support something for 5 minutes to take up a two minute stream=scummy

Bowblax's funeral be like:Before we continue with my funeral i just wanna thank rigewallet for sponsoring the video.
Why even get a burger when you could get SPICY chinken nuggets from Wendy's?
You could get a 5$ Fill-Up Box from KFC
Typically looking for a way around, instead of paying the streamer to advertise they do it by donating to him that it is cheaper.
Just fix it, Adapt, think of something to do so that they don't basically have your entire stream with ads cuz other companies are going to do it.
If ads become big in donations, they can mute or disable them rather easily, so I don't get the real negative of this. For UA-cam, since mostly the video is past tense, random ads can't be commented on during the video, unless the creator is super smart on it. For streams, the streamer can: trash talk the ad, or mute or block the pop-up, and then still trash talk the ad. Not every one of these streamers is good enough to be directly sponsored, but some have good audiences.
I was at Burger King when this was all going down, I asked the cashier if this made sense. "Sure" is all they said. Then I started advertising Wendy's and got kicked out.

Thank you! People have seemed to be so in out of touch with reality that they've started hailing twitch - fuckin - streamers ffs. Most of the streamers there don't even deserve to be rich.
@cat snake lol. It is very cool actually. I've seen twitch streamers with tons of sponsors. Burger King chose not to be. It is very cool tbh.
Let me present the issue I have with burger King and why keemstars argument is utterly fucking retarded.
Firstly the TTS donations where supposed to be a form of interaction from the community to the creator, and also a form of support for them, however what burger King has done was basically placing in a mid roll ad, abusing the system in place to use for corporate shilling for a very dirt cheap rate. Yes you got 5 bucks. However, you are broadcasting a ad neither twitch, the streamer, nor the third party application your using have approved to be on the stream.
Which leads to me breaking down keemstars argument with "Its a donation, I'm entitled to say whatever the fuck I want !"
This is *not* the case at all, let's say, Joe Biden or Donald Trump or any other political candidate or leader decided to use this as advertisement for the election.
Or a racist group or company decided to shill out anti whatever propaganda, or a dangerous man started giving out addresses, using the tools that were supposed to be used by the twitch community. But because they ponied up 5 dollars, we're supposed to just *let them do it ?*
This is *not* okay, this shouldn't be given a thumbs up, this should be prevented as it can lead the streamer into trouble with whatever the rouge advertisement is broad casting.
@@Uniformtree000 they can just skip the add
@@name7918 it doesn't change the fact that it's not okay. Worse off is some other fucking bullshit burger King tired. Have a Alexa near a TV with cable? Fuck you, your eating burger king. i genuinely loved that sponsor segment, comparing the burger to the wallet made me laugh :)
I’m not even mad about that transition, never seen an ad more smooth
So much privilege and entitlement I'm hearing oml
@cat snake the reason why I say they're entitled is because you, me, and everyone else with a brain cell will know damn well that if those $5 were $500 or even $5,000 they'd be accepted with praise for how "charitable" BK is being. Of course I understand what BK is doing is scummy but these twitch streamers are literally overreacting to it when they could just ignore it and take the money as that one guy should've said when he said he "felt uncomfortable" getting a donation from BK.
IDGAF, that's a easy big bank for bk🤷🏽♂️ say what u want but business is business and you can't hate the player hate the game,
I know right. & what is wrong with these kids? They should just say thank u for the donation! lol
Deadass. As soon as I read nickolas's analogy on the yt/lazy twitch streamers "exposure* (totally not stealing content) to UA-camrs, I knew Burger King won this lol.
the midroll analogy was pretty accurate. makes sense
streamers seem to suffer chronic entitlement a lot
your transitions into the ridge wallet sponsorship breaks never get old
I think some of these streamers think there worth more then they are, I’m pretty sure everyone knows what Burger King is and not “domesticdan” like take the 5 and ignore it if you don’t like it, it’s honestly a good idea and this is making the streamers look greedy
Honestly, that "advertisement" could violate COPPA, and the streamers could be on be on big problem for that, due to "not saying they are being sponsored by the company". Also, yeah the 5$ donation where they advertise themselves, is (if I remember correctly) breaking streamlabs TOS, I dont know what that means for the streamer (suspension, cut of revenue, ban, etc.). But I do think if BK is going to self promote, at least the streamer should know that BK is having like a deal with Twitch (as a company) to advertise their product (Just like Subway), and Twitch tell the streamers: "Look, BK wants to do a fake donation to promote their product, do you want them to sponsor your next stream?" If the streamer says yes, BK goes ahead and "fakes" the donation. If the streamer says no, then BK doesn't "fake" the donation, and doesn't promote itself.
But the streamers are right to complain about the donation? Yes and no. Yes in the sense of COPPA violation, and no because they still received the money (if they decided to keep it).
Thank you for coming to my TEDTalk!
Burger King: *tries to promote themselves through donations*

Burger King: welp, this idea was more of a success than we anticipated.
I like how the twitch streamers rage.
$5 is exactly how much an ad on Twitch should be
God I hate weest so much. I hate getting reminded that he exists
Honestly it's good advertising the streamers are just mad they aren't getting more money. Burger King isn't paying for THEM to sponsor. They're paying for the 4-10 seconds on screen. Kinda like an actual ad. They can talk trash about the company if they want after the donation. They aren't obligated by any contract or anything. It's a really smart campaign. It also disperse money to a lot more streamers (and hopefully smaller ones) instead of just large streamers who would be getting the brand deal.

Stream donations are supposed to be for audience engagement though. If donation ads become more common, it might turn people off from watching, which will impact the streamers bottom line much more than any of these companies would be willing to pay back. Thankfully, there are ways they can combat this, but it doesn't make streamers entitled to complain about a potentially platform altering practice
