Thanks for the reaction bro, he is Scottish but sounds Jamaican lol. Yeah he’s got a lot of soul and is a real musician and is Lewis Capaldis favourite singer. Paolo has music running through his veins, This song has a great message

R u kidding me, this dude is awesome never heard of him before. Your on another level when you put a Charlie Chaplin quote in your song. This is one of best songs I’ve ever heard
Thank you so much to George Ibrahim! it always amazes me that Paolo barely made a blip on the charts in the U.S. but is so popular elsewhere, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, but not the U.S.. This song is about 6 or 7 years old off the last album he released. A lot of his music sounds like it could be older, he was highly influenced by the music his Italian grandfather played and sang when he minded Paolo and his sister while his parents worked nights at the family restaurant. His style is jazzy and bluesy and kinda mid-century. Listen to another song from this session: Let me Down Easy. He and The Vipers performed this song when it was in the writing process during their previous concert tour. Search 'Birdy' and you will find a dozen slightly different versions of the song. Capaldi was a fan of his and they are friends now. They are both Scots of Italian descent from the Glasgow area. For whatever reason, Italians have immigrated here a lot since the victorian era. In Paolo's case, his father's side has maintained their connection to Tuscany and until his mother, had married owithin their Italian immigrant community. His mother is Irish/scots.
Thanks Karen for the background info on Paolo he is amazing and I love his voice. This man doesn’t have blood but has music running through his veins. I live In Australia and so many Australian artists are unknown in the US it’s unbelievable how there missing out on so much talent.
@@georgeibrahim7945 I am American and moved to Glasgow about 7 years ago. I had sort of heard of him as a famous local guy, but only over the lockdown have I 'discovered' him and realized he isn't just a local name! I also lived in the UK from 2007-09 when, at least according to clips on here, he was probably on TV most every week, had his song featured in commercials, in national charity events, as well as all over Radio 1. But with so much newness in my life, including a baby 3 and a half months after moving, kept me too busy to pay attention to that sort of thing. I listened to my CD collection instead of the radio, and watched all the wrong shows, I guess. I entirely missed out!
Written by Paolo. Performed by Paolo. My all-time favourite artist. He is unreal and, unlike so many artists, is even better live than his recordings. He is incredible!
Great reaction ! Paolo Nutini is certainly an exceptional musician. Interesting that you compared him to Lewis Capaldi; indeed they both share 2 things, they are of Italian-Scottish ancestry, living in Scotland (Paolo's parents had a pizzeria, Lewis father was a fish monger). I wonder if the dark winters and the weather will have had some influence on the tone of their music. Paolo Nutini comes highly acclaimed, performed regularly with Jools Holland here at the BBC in London (This is our most famous Music live show where exceptional musicians/singers/bands perform - Adele performed 'Someone like me' live first in his show. Jools himself is a great piano player and comes from Jazz). So it is no surprise that Paolo delivers an exceptional performance with Iron Sky.....incredible tone of his voice, great song, amazing lyrics, groove, and the bridge from Charlie Chaplin's speach...... all this has depth, and in my opinion, a song that stays for the ages. Modern pop music has a short half life, but nowadays there are very few musicians who can write songs to stay.
Thank you so much for sharing!! :D is so amazing when people know so much about artist that they like, so amazing ! thank you so much for watching Kim!
It is a chippie called Castlevechi in Paisley, i used to go into everyday for my lunch and chatted to Paolo many many times. He is a good guy and likes my jokes, i was forever slaggin him off, just banter though.
I believe this speech was given in the movie called The Dictator. I believe it was Charlie Chaplin's first sound movie. What was removed from that speech was, "soldiers, do not give yourselves to brutes..." Charlie Chaplin had to flee America and live the rest of his days in Europe because some people in high positions believed he was a communist.
