Wow!!! This was the simplest solution and it works amazingly. 🎉😂. I just bought a blue plastic barrel 55gal,cut 2.75" off the middle line. Boom instant garage. I just need to add a spreader bar and I'm done.
Thank you so so much for posting. The tip about the fine tooth circular saw blade in backwards, wow. Cut it up like butter. And super straight!

Thanks for passing along your comments.
I'm glad that I was able provide another Luba owner with an easy solution. And, your Luba and docking station are now protected from the elements.

This is a great idea as it fits the entire Luba system including the base station. I myself went with the plastic "Window well" route that I purchased for $25 from Home Depot. The pro's to that method is... it's solid and looks like a car-port. It has some weight to it. There is no need to modify it. I added a camera to the top of Luba so I needed extra height, so I placed two 4x4 on the sides and screwed it down into the Window well. Look great. The con to the Window well is that it's about 2 to 2.5 inches short. It covers my entire Luba but the base sticks out a little in the back. I saw someone else use this Window well idea and covered the top with fake turf. I liked the way it looked and that would also solve the coverage problem in the back as well.

Thanks for your comments. My main goal was to provide a dry environment for the docking station and the electrical connections, especially the gold colored contact points between the Luba and the dicking station.
I've run the Luba a number of times since installing the garage and it has no problem finding the garage or getting in or out.

@@markgooch2046 Oh, I think your idea of using that barrel is a great idea and I agree 100% we need to protect the Luba from water even though they claim it to be IPX6. Don't forget about the RTK antenna as well. Me personally, I've used transparent silicone all around the seals including the light in the front. Thinking about a small drain hole on the underside in the back and/or getting a 3d printed cover. Too many are reporting water damage to their RTK antenna and Mammotion being very slow in getting them replaced.

@@covertpuppytwo3857The crazypostman recently showed what he did with the new sealer (think of a heavy-duty saran wrap type of plastic film) for the power button and the new plastic top of the RTK unit. The upshot is that now his Luba and the RTK are truly protected from water getting in.

That’s a good idea. I happen to have a plastic drum already.

Top work - much better than the OEM garage which is a rain cover at best. Great if your Luba has TB I suppose..

The luba is 20" wide... How much clearance do you have on either side? Just curious.

The inside dimension of the drum after the lid was cut out using a sabre saw is 21 1/2". By cutting the barrel 2 3/4" below the center seam (as shown in the video) allows the widest part of the opening to be positioned at Luba's widest point. Luba has exited and entered this garage many times and at no time has it even touched the opening. The Mammotion docking algorithm is so precise that 3/4" on each side is more than ample.
But, keep in mind, plastic barrels are produced by many manufacturers and may have variances in the dimension of the lid. Please measure it before purchase.
