I’m back
So it has recently occurred to me that this kind of video concept is quite popular, so I thought I’d milk it further and do this video! It’s stitched together quite a bit at the end, but I think it should be a nice little laugh for you at Christmas. I may carry on this video concept throughout the period of time when my fecking train station is closed

Just gonna say this in advance:
*I didn’t include the NTfL just because it’s not in passenger service as of December 2023, so no one really has a set-in-stone opinion about it properly.* If it does decide to enter service at some point after this video, I’ll add it in here.
Spot on about those who love the R Stock, like the R Stock I am very unconventional; but my all-time favourite Tube Stock is the 1962 TS because for the first 24 years of my life I traveled on it extensively, so I'm nostalgic about it.

@@nowapproachingyt Well I wouldn't be unconventional if I used the same word as you 🙂. No seriously I don't mind being described as being weird, in fact that's how I usually describe myself. I was born in July 1974 hence the nostalgia. By the way you missed the CO/CP Stock. Finally I like your video because it has an element of fun to it; whereas vast majority of video clips of Underground trains are utterly pointless.

@@nowapproachingyt I am surprised that the CO/CP didn't come up on Wiki, if you specifically set out to look up you will find a fair amount of information on it. Mind you the CO/CP Stock were the pre WW2 precursor to the R Stock because they had identical body shape and profile to the later R Stock, so they were the pioneers of this unusual design. Anyhow I don't expect you to have a conversation with me, but I don't mind. I hope you had a good Xmas; a Happy New Year to you

can you do what your favourite tram says about you? basically all light-rail systems such as metrolink, it doesn't have to be any heritage trams
Not too shabby of an idea, but it’s just the fact that trams aren’t too widespread across the uk, and I cba going over trams from the 1900s lol
S-Stock - You like aircon.
This dates me, but I used to ride on the Standard tube stock (pre 1938) but the 1938 tube stock was a great improvement and I like that best because it was smart, well built and had a long service life (they were also painted red, not multi-coloured). Of the surface stock, the A stock was best- very comfortable. I think the S-stock is ugly and so is the new Siemens Piccadilly stock.
Aye there was a golden age for Tube stock. Seems to have long gone now, yet that doesn’t mean any new advancements aren’t impressive - it’s just boring, as I said for the S Stock in the video.
Wonderful video gave me a good laugh like the last one, best one was the 86/92 stock and i like how quick it was. Cant wait to see whats in store next

My favourite stock was the 59/62 tube stock, I used to guard/drive those. Sure, the cabs stunk like emebedded B.O. and you'd constantly crack your head on the low cab door but they were fun AF to drive. I don't like any of the modern stocks.
As a northerner I know nothing about tube stock, but this kind of makes me want to know more.

Agreed. However, A Stock for life. 70+ mph, good seats, great for drivers, 4tph to Amersham with a GOOD ratio of fast:slow trains, what’s not to love?

Eh, fair enough. Still, as said, S Stock = boring, dull, monotonous and any other synonyms for boring. And boring again.
I mean, it’s done it’s job very well. It had high expectations to live up to, and even if they’re not as comfortable, they’re more open, warm, welcoming, accessible, and can have a rocket up it’s arse sometimes too

0:21 That is not the 1949 stock. That is 10306 which was converted from a 38 stock DM for the 1951 stock concept in 1949. 1949 stock cars were numbered something else.
