I went to the dealer to get an original Delco Battery (cause I'm just that way) and the fellow told me just watch the You Tube. Best thing I did. It worked flawlessly in minimal time. Many thanks.

That was a great video. It looks like a real pain in the rear when you first open up the hood, but watching it once, it made sense. My Yukon battery was super tight in there, but I removed that bolt and moved the tank next to it, and was able to wriggle the damned thing out. The replacement was about two inches shorter, so it was much easier to maneuver. Part of the problem was that the truck is parked on the side of the driveway which has a decline, so I had really bad footing and couldn't get a step stool next to the engine bay. Oh well, it's in there now. Thanks!
Thanks for the vid!! I almost flipped out thinking I bought the wrong size battery. The trick was turning it sideways. Appreciate you taking the time help others like myself. Have a blessed day !!!!!!
Great video! One thing I would add, while you have it apart, remove the cables from the terminal strip under the black cover and clean/tighten them. They can mimic a weak battery.
Thanks! The battery will reset the system when disconnected. If it continues, you might want to look into the coolant temp sensor and the thermostat ua-cam.com/video/7mJF5LQ3oPs/v-deo.html
Great video! Did the damn thing in under 15 minutes. Last time I replaced it, I probably spent 15 minutes getting the damn battery in and out. Thank you!
👍 Excellent video! I have a 2019 Denali so very applicable to my situation with the 6.2L engine area under the hood. I needed the 45 degree/tilt battery maneuver to assist me to extract the battery; very tight fit. I had to remove the one bolt to barely slide over the radiator reserve tank, only about 1/2 is all I needed. I most enjoyed the youngster in the background; sounded like my life!

Thank you for this overview! I wasn’t entirely comfortable putting metal tools on batteries and this helped me get the swap out done very easily. Appreciate it!
Thanks for the video. My family got stuck at the supermarket. I was able to buy a new battery and switch it expeditiously due to your video. Much appreciated!

Great video!! This will be my 2nd battery in 4 years on this vehicle. It appears the one in this video was only about 3 years old as well. Guessing with all the electronics these days they just don't last as long. It was an Interstate battery as well.
I just did this project the other day on my 2017 GMC Yukon. I found that I could rotate the battery so that the posts face the fender & was able to lift the battery out & install the same way. Good thing these batteries of sealed. Also had to use a step stool so that I could more easily hand the battery in & out of the vehicle. Thanks for sharing your method of battery replacement. It was helpful & informative.
Had to replace the battery in my F150 this past spring. Hit its 5 year mark and started acting up on me. I did get a replacement with more cold cranking amps though
Yea def put cover on positive terminal after tightening it. Friend was tightening down negative terminal with extension ratchet and a spark happened. Negative and positive connection for a second occured by the bottom handle of the ratchet.
After putting my battery back in I have numerous problems. One headlight working with the blinker on that side not. The other headlight not working, but the blinker is. Passenger windows aren't working. Ac is blowing, but radio face won't come on at all. All these "service" messages rotating through. Any advice?
I o Lu took the top bar off. Not the vertical one. If you turn the battery sideways it comes right out and goes right in. The hardest part is the battery weight.
Very well done. Saved me a lot of time. After I replaced battery and restarted car, some of warning lights didn’t reset! Air bag sensor, engine light stayed on. Any ideas on how to recalibrate
Your video is great but every time I remove the negative battery terminal the alarm goes off and wont shut off unless the battery is reconnected. How do you get the alarm to stop? Thanks! 2018 GMC Yukon Denali.
It may have an aftermarket alarm because the negative cable should turn everything off. Is there anything else connected to the negative battery cable?
I've already swapped 5 batteries on my wife's 2015. Cussing that battery box design every time. If they would have located the coolant reservoir an inch further to front it would be sensible. And why cant anyone make a battery that lasts 4 or 5 years instead of 18 months.
Any videos on how to change the window plastic seals? My truck sat in the Texas sun for about 1.5 years and window/door seals fried. Been watching your vids and went from being a mom/nurse to a basic mechanic 😅
It depends. 4wd is a lot of extra weight. That means you can tow more with 2wd since it’s lighter. You’ll also get better fuel milage with 2wd. If you do a lot of off road or snow weather 4wd would be nice. It just depends on it’s use
Only tweak I would make is that it is much easier to get the battery out if you turn it on its side (left or right) and then begin to lift up and out. Trying to tilt it the directions mentioned was not working, at all. Also, loosen that expansion tank.
Solid video, thank you! However, I've lost Intelilink screen, audio, and phone. Back up camera works but otherwise black screen🤔. Suggestions? Tracking down and testing fuses now but nothing directs or has a recognizable acronym to Intelilink. Any help much appreciate. 🙏
Hey buddy, thanks for all the helpful videos. First I was wondering if you considered getting a lithium battery and second I was wondering if you did any research on replacing the phone charging PCBA coil and module with a qi fast charging coil. I haven't found one with more than 10w and I was wondering what you found.
Did you start by plugging the positive side on first as the video shows or did you put the red on last? If you put the red on last instead of first it can short things out. Otherwise, it shouldn’t be related at all to the power steering
Just had this pop up on my 2017 suburban. With battery saving mode and stabilitrak. Same thing happens like in this video. Could that be samething just the battery?
Hi.. my husband changed out the battery on my 2015 Tahoe..and now it won't start..then a message saying 'theft deterrent system' comes on... do you know how to fix this problem? ..if so, will you please help. Thank You.
Try disconnecting the black cable for 5 minutes and put it back on. Then put the key fob it it’s little cubby in the center console under the arm rest. It’s by the USB ports. Make sure the battery is being plugged correctly red positive + and black negative -
Don't forget to get the battery out of the back of your Tahoe before you take out the battery, I had to reinstall my battery to get juice to pop the back hatch. On a positive note I have gotten really good and orienting the battery to get it in and out....lol
I changed out my wife’s and I must’ve installed wrong, can only lock and unlock and that is it, nothing else comes on except passenger side signal when locking and unlocking. What’s my issue?
There are built in fuses on the battery connectors. The video shows putting the + on first. If you didn’t, it may have blown the fuses or worse. Is the car in theft mode?
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage you nailed it, seen this reply after I fixed it…grabbed my fluke meter and found the problem. I upset something when hooking it back up. Went to the GM house and bought a new fuse for the battery, $100 mistake but it’s good now. Thanks for your reply.
You remove the black cable first, then the red. On the installation you put the red on first and then the black. The reason why is so you don’t short out electrical components with it arching. Once the ground is on you’ll have power as soon as red touches so if it arches from the red cable it can short out the system. If it arches from the black cable it simply discharges to the car’s frame and doesn’t blow any fuses or burn up any electrical components or worse, through you.

Absolutely excellent. First time replacing a battery and only took 15 minutes following this video to the tee. Thanks so much!

As simple and straightforward as possible for the job. Thanks much - saved me time and money.
i watched several videos to figure out how to get the battery out and your's was the best.
Great video! One thing I would add, while you have it apart, remove the cables from the terminal strip under the black cover and clean/tighten them. They can mimic a weak battery.
Incredibly helpful and straightforward. First time changing my battery in the suburban so this made it a breeze. Start to finish 30 minutes
Your video made everything so easy. It even stopped my running fan when car is off and my temperature gauge is back working properly.
Thanks! The battery will reset the system when disconnected. If it continues, you might want to look into the coolant temp sensor and the thermostat ua-cam.com/video/7mJF5LQ3oPs/v-deo.html

I love the comparison of the terminals to the captain of a ship. I always had to look it up before, but I will now remember that forever!

You can try disconnecting the negative cable again for a few minutes and see if it resets.

2wd and 4wd Does the 4wd is a better car then the 2wd. Because i have a yukon denali 2wd so now I feel like I made a bad option.
It depends. 4wd is a lot of extra weight. That means you can tow more with 2wd since it’s lighter. You’ll also get better fuel milage with 2wd. If you do a lot of off road or snow weather 4wd would be nice. It just depends on it’s use

If the camera still works it sounds like the actual head unit may have a problem for the rest othet than the screen
Did you get any check engine lights or codes or dash lights c9me after the forst start up?
No, I didn’t have any problems. Remember to disconnect the negative cable first and reconnect the negative last
