- On 12 April 2006, Prince Harry marched in front of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II; his grandfather, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh; his father, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales; his stepmother, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; and his brother, Prince William in the famous Sovereign's Parade at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst. The Queen then addressed the newly qualified military cadets before following the parade into the college.
On 14 April 2023, King Charles III attended his first Sovereign's Parade since becoming monarch.

Nicholas Frame : I believe I heard about this tradition many years ago. Now I could be wrong, but from what I heard this tradition started during the graduation ceremony at Sandhurst in 1914. A sudden rain shower occurred and forced the cadets and horse soldiers inside the academy building. That's what I heard started that tradition. Again as I said before I could be mistaken. However, you could ask someone else to check up on that Sandhurst academy graduation tradition.
Dates back to the Duke of Wellington reviewing the parade I believe. He refused to dismount and walk up the steps at the end, so he rode his horse Copenhagen up the steps.

Her Majesty responded to this and other calumnies by observing, with dignified understatement, that “recollections may vary” - and all this happened at a time when her beloved husband, Prince Philip, had only weeks to live.
So I imagine those things were the source of much of the disappointment the Queen and her family feel about Harry, and not the fact that he loves his wife and wanted to move to California.

It’s great to see that Prince Harry has reflected his grandmothers wish on leadership because he leads well he is loved by those who he lead when he was in the army and that is reflected in the Invictus games, he leads well in his home by protecting his family from toxic individuals. However it is sad to see that the Queen’s legacy is crumbling because the foundation was not set firmly in her children Charles unfortunately has not been able to sustain his mothers legacy due to lack of character and poor decisions over the years causing his family to fragment and reveal the lack of substance in his home. I wish The Duke and Duchess of Sussex all the best as they continue to live their lives away from the monarchy they will lead and thrive I pray and hope it will ultimately reflect righteousness one day
