- this is the video of the Roomba 960 vacuum, that's exhibiting error 6 symptom, i tried different floors, cleaned the cliff sensors, and factory reset but with no changes in the error, please let me know if anyone of you came across this and was able to fix
I bought a Roomba 980 with an Error 6 issue. It turns out to be a water damage to the cliff sensors which caused the wires that connect IR leds desoldered. I could actually just resolder a new one and clean out the rust left. Instead I cut off a piece of cliff sensor from an older Roomba that was already dead. I joint the cliff sensors to the 980's wiring and It worked. Now i have a good Roomba working for me.
Well, i should have ask the seller to offer me 15 singapore dollars, it was a huge but not much of disaster. I managed to clean almost all parts, but I do not have isopropyl alcohol to clean up the electronics :(
good that you were able to fix it
You did the middle finger
opps i did'nt realized that
Same model, exact same thing - immediately after it leaves the base it gives the same error - I took the entire thing apart and cleaned cliff sensors, tried disabling the sensors by covering them with reflective white paper as in another video... Still giving me the same error. Did you happen to find a fix?
this is something you can try
1. power down the Roomba and leave it like that for 5 -10 min.
-- I did remove the battery for this.
2. once the battery is connected back.
3. try to turn on the Roomba by pushing on the bumper, I started pressing on the right side and left side.
4. the idea here is not to press the power button to turn it on,
4. once it's powered on by the method mentioned above,
5. control this using the phone app.
Nb. I was able to do this couple of times, not a sure-shot thing. but you can try this.
@@TechHotLine awesome I'll give it a shot. I ordered a new set of "refurbished" sensors on ebay for about $15 so if not, hopefully that does the trick
@@TheDeepEnd303 let me know. Which option fixes urs
@@TheDeepEnd303 did yours got fixed after replacing the sensors?
@@TechHotLine I spent hours taking it apart and putting back together with the new sensors only to end up with the same error and it still not working. Finally gave in and bought a non irobot vacuum on Amazon Prime day sale to replace the 960.
Clean cliff sensors
unfortunately its not the solution, i cleans teh sensors multiple times
@@TechHotLine hmm okey
Just wipe the sensors down with windex or alcohol.
tried it it was not helping
Then it is probably the wheels. They have a sensor that tells them it's been picked up. Or just get a new roomba lol!😂
@@sebastienmolano yup
I have the 980
Had the issue with error 6,9, and 16, I called iRobot, and they sent out a new one today.
May be I will try that. Thanks for sharing
@@TechHotLine no problem
Anyone else think that voice sounds creepy?
My voice ..or something from the vac
The vacuum, sorry.
i used to have a roomba e5 and it had a rude and creepy voice. it had no manners except for when it said "low battery. PLEASE charge" bruh
Nope
My roomba e5 has a very rude and creepy voice too and sometime I want to cuss at it
:), may need lubrication on the wheels
@@TechHotLine my roomba never says please and has no manners it just commands me to do something and it's very anoyying and rude
@@TechHotLine by the way what does lubricating the wheels have to do with any of what we're talking about right now
lol Melissa... you are funny
@@TechHotLine 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think I robot made it so it really hates carpet
It happens to me too, I'm about to throw it through the window
I did saw a UA-cam video. To tape up the sensors. Using some reflective tape or a plastic
@@TechHotLine i did that but it still stops in the middle of the room..
ok
NO!
😂😂😂
Así hace la mía ,ya la limpie ,que más le hago?
it is sensing that is is stuck
or may be sensor gone bad that its stuck in there
i have a room a 692 and it dies this only on my carpet it’s probably not great on carpet
what error you getting
Your cliff sensors failed, replace them and the error will go away
I was able to make it work by schedule the job in the app. However for what ever reason if u touch it u get the same error.
@@TechHotLinethat’s dumb, what about pulling it from the dock
i have roomba 560 and this happened to me..I cleaned the sensors still dont work.. pls help me
initially what worked for me was making sure i scheduled the jobs, ie don't press on the button on the robo to start the vacuuming, so basically disconnect the battery leave it for 1 hr or so try to start the job using the app. i was also had some success by pressing the bumpers on the sides to start the robo, but eventually i had to replace it, good luck my friend.
Hello mathew. You mean that eventually replaced the sensors? Or the roomba was replaced?
i fixed it by hitting the roombas wheels 5 times with hammer
@@joseeduardolira3825 the roomba was replaced
@@hohaho2996 hope u kidding :)
My Roomba 620 get an air six even though I don't have any carpets
I think this is some kind of sensor issue. As my home have carpet and hardword. Where ever it start it will give me the same issue
