Hi Levy
hi levi
Early gang
kundigrabber
Pin of shame!! Wait…
Levy is the type of person to make us believe that we are good enough to gain chess elo
Just got to win right ?
@@michaelmassaro4375🤓
@@michaelmassaro4375wrong! Sacrifice the queen for a pawn!
Such an honest dude
levy inflates my ego and then that randomly matched guy with almost the same elo as me humbles me down
Bro, the part in the 1700 rated match where you asked if the rook should protect latterly or horizontal blew my mind, thanks for pointing that out. Great video btw.
I thought the same thing
At least I was right on the guess that the C-Pawn was a big asset 😅
As a respectful 400 elo person, I can say that I reached 200 elo with the help of this video.
And all for 4 minutes
Levy said:"NOW"
You didn't even watch the video that's why
Thank you, I thought I was the only one
W
Can we appreciate how much levy cares about our elo? Thanks to him i went from 900 elo to 500.
I played the Elo losing gambit before and it worked very well.
At least my puzzles are going up
You gained -400 elo
thank you levi for making this guide. i will definitely remember to credit this specific video when i take ding liren's world champion title in 2025 for teaching me everything i need to know
Maybe I let you win 2026 xD.
@nikolaijahn1873 can u let me win in 2030 plz
@@boobie34 Let me lose the final in 2050
Thanks to this video, I started gaining elo points for all my opponents.
Oh boy, i missed educational gotham a lot. Levy is a great teacher.
Guys I'm here just to tell you not to feel too bad: I'm 1700 and I still make a lot of this mistakes, keep it up you'll make it
thx
Yes it happens to everyone. Just the higher level is, the more rare mistakes are. But happens certainly for everyone (speaking of one-move blunders).
Why do you think we are bellow 1700?
@@JUVARBS cause gotham himself said the average of his audience is between 700 and 900 elo
Went from 1750 to 1200 after this video, thx Levi
ME TO!!!
You replied 60 seconds after the video was uploaded 💀
here before this blows up
This joke isn't funny since 1750
levi is such a nice person
gotta love Levis dedication to us 300 elo players
well, there's not much to say except don't hang your queen in one move every fifth move.
no seriously, stop trying to be extra with your own openings and play principled chess. there are more than enough videos for noobies already. we intermediates need some love, too, from time to time.
Who's Levi?
@@thedude4039Gotham chess is named Levi
Love the instructional videos. The ones where you play subscribers at different elos and talk through your tactics are my favourite. Thanks
as someone trying to improve this is one of your best videos yet, would love to see this as a series - the way you analyze the games and explain how to improve in a way we can understand makes this a great "win at chess" vibe
That third match was interesting. I find at 1551 I can sometimes struggle with a proper end game. I know a good amount of basic opening for both sides. I can recognize positions and usually know what my opponent will want in given situations. However, in the end game I sometimes struggle to properly move my king. I know the basic principle of trying to move king towards the center etc. Oh well, will keep learning!
Very instructional video. Give us more of these Levy!
Can we appreciate how Levy never fails to make me giggle and swing my legs in the air? 😊
🤨
Nah he's right
sussy
So true bestie
We just get one of these comments every video now, huh?
thanks for including stuff for more intermediate players. found this very insightful appreciate it
End games are so rough. i remember a few weeks back I had lost several rapid games, I took a shower to cool off, then said by hell or high water, I'm winning this next game. Played a 70 something move long game against my opponent, 86% accuracy from both of us, and I looked at the eval afterwards and had no clue where I had made a mistake. Apparently at during a rook and pawn majority vs rook and pawn minority, when I was checked by the rook, I had the choice of going towards my passer on the right side of the board, or the pawn majority on the left side of the board to confront the enemy king, and I chose to stick with my passed pawn, and that was the wrong move because I allowed the enemy king active counter play, and I drew the game about 20 or 30 moves later. Felt absolutely crushed after that.
0:36 "I make a lot if entertaining chess content"
So modest, Levy, so humble 😅
i went from -300 elo to 100 elo, truly a lifesaver
Love this content! I get that the goofy guess the Elo stuff gets more views, but I love classic Levy teaching. Thanks for throwing us dorks a bone here and there!
Very informative video! It's unreal how much you see in a position. You're a good teacher.
This is one of the best videos you've ever uploaded... and you've got QUITE A BUNCH of excellent videos to choose from. Incredible content 👏
Foreal, I learned a lot in this video
thank you so much Levy! I was hoping for another video like this for months since it really helped me. I am stuck at around 1700 since a few months and I am looking forward to improve. I know that most of your audience is around 1000 elo but I would be really happy if you would continue this series, also with higher elo people like 1800+ to 2200 some day! thanks for the content :)
Let's train together. I got to 1700 about 2 months ago and I keep falling off to 1600 mostly because I haven't been studying that well.
@@chiedozieagwu7864that has to be the most heartwarming thing I ve seen.
Never change!
:0
Will there be a part two? Fornthos eof us who want to improve our chess this would be a great series XD
I finally broke 1000 blitz, and I'm pushing it on bullet. I'm so happy.
I see Gotham producing more elo. I click.
you know, I usually skip ads/sponsors but since I feel like you're a genuine person Levy, I watch every sponsor and don't skip them anymore :) not sure if that helps you but its the best I can do.
My favorite thing you've done in a while. The fun stuff is great, but you are a good teacher and I'm happy to get a little bit of that mixed in.
Very instructive stuff levy thanks a lot i love this! 😄😁, coloured square weakness and not trading pieces and a lot more
Please make more videos like this. Loved the analysis.
I am in for the instructive vids. More of long game explanation for sub games. It’s genuinely so helpful

Big up the advice content!
These instructional videos are really nice, thank you Levy
I really like how directly instructive this was! I'd really appreciate more of these.
I gain elo in bullet by setting a "one loss" rule - I play until I lose once. It helps me avoid my biggest problem of trying to make up for a loss and playing in a bad head space.
One of my recent D&D characters was a wizard named Henry
Thanks for the great instructional video! I love this type of videos, please make more of this format!!
would like see more instructional videos like these
1 Secret Hack for Elo is to play slowest time control in each category. 2+1 bullet instead of 1+0, 5+0 / 5+3 blitz instead of 3+0, 15+10 rapid instead of 10+0.
Another tip for low time in endgame is to keep your king / piece at different colors to completely prevent enemy's knight forks. Knight attacks only one color at a time. [For example] Just make sure to always move your king to black squares and rook to white squares. Or keep them separate by almost the whole board distance. Otherwise watch out
Beautiful video Gotham. Give us more of these. I'm 11-1200 range and see every one of these mistakes in my own games at times. Send more please!!
How do you share your game with him?
In the second game white had a Qa1 sacc at the end. If the King takes it is mate and if he goes to f3 you can either take the rook directly or fork the Queen and the King with Rd2.
I gained so much ELO by making a new account after watching this video, thanks Levi
first of all, 4 minutes ago, second, levy. thank you.
Going to a tournament at the end of the month so perfect timing! Thanks Gotham!
Bro how do I play otb matches
@@alien3200 Doing a quick search of your area for a chess club is a great way to start, but when you sign up for a USCF membership you'll have the option to receive emails for OTB tournaments in your area
27:45 that bishop is about to cause a whole hell a lot of problems 😂
levy, ive been stuck from 800-900 elo for so long, but thanks to you i finally got out of that range. proud to be in the 700 club!!
No joke levy ur the GOAT i was 300 elo now im almost 1100 all in 7 month thanks to u ur funny and makes learning chess fun ty truly
Gotham never fails to roast his viewers every video.
The thing that im probably struggling the most is probably trying to get a good start or just finding the best moves in the opening because if you start bad the you end uo worse
I love these instructional videos! Please do more of these, I wanna get better at chess!
Thanks!!! ❤❤❤
Levy’s consistency is insane lessgoooo another videooo
more of this please
This video might not be as popular as your other ones, but as a learning chess player I appreciate so much your classes on how to get better at this game. Please don't let the low view count sway you from making videos like this cause they are super helpful for anyone that seeks to improve
It's always great when levy bangs with an instructive one.
such a humble man giving us free tips to gain elo
"Always protect your king!" I've had some games where I was down 5+ in material that turned around because opponent moved the king's only protection.
I would like to thank gotham. I went from 400 to 1000 elo with this kind of videos.
Great video. Should be a series.
I loved the part when Levy told us the 1 secret he promised in the title
I just won Magnus with white pieces. Looking forward to next lesson so I can win with black as well. Thanks Levi!
This is very helpful stuff, we need more videos like this
This reminds me of old Levy videos. I missed stuff like this.
“You can’t control how others play. You can only control yourself”. The similarities between life and chess are sublime
If I get opponents like either player in that first game my ELO would rise very quickly
Always a banger when it's educational content from Levy
Yes it was helpful please keep making videos like these I personally learnt a lot , thank you
This was a great and instructional video. Could you please start a series where you would analyze subscriber's mistakes, that would be awesome!
Thank you Levy you give really clear and useful tips and instructions, this was a very fun, educational and insightful video
Again thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I started at 300 now 1 year Later after much levy and much dedication, I'm proud to say im now 500 (high elo)
i just hope to get better cuz this video gave me motivation to break through 800s thanks levy 😊

Really appreciate the instructional content. I've missed it.
We need more of these videos. This was just wonderful ❤
Yes this was helpful! Please do more like this.
Very cool video. I like the focus on instructiveness a lot
Hey levi ik u wont probably see this but in the second game where the bishop is stopping short castle isnt also possible for a long castle bringing the rooks into the game i understanf that side is very open for attacks but from what i can see its defendable
Thank you for a helpful video! I enjoy these a lot.
just got to 800 and actually proud of myself it aint much but im getting there
Very helpful and fun to watch, thank you Levy!
In first match, black has a problem with diagonal blindness, that is my problem and I don't know how to get rid of it
Why your book is not available for pre order in India
any discounts on chessly courses?
Always love your content! I do enjoy entertaining videos, but educational videos like this are really helpful for my chess career! Keep up good work!
idk why but every sentence levy says seriously i think can be turned into a meme lol. love ur content levy u are amzing
11:56 That's a Benoni Defense, I play that too(at 1.5)
In your perfessional openionion, who would win a ches fight between Boby Finster or Paul Murphey?
Great video. I've been stuck at 1500 elo forever, this series is extremely helpful!
yeah the passive rook mistake was a great learning
It was helpful for sure, I'm 1300-1400 elo player and I've managed to win 1900 elo computer without any help which is probably a sign that I can play good enough to reach higher elo, but I keep doing mistakes that you've mentioned and worst part is that from analyzing my own games I already know those mistakes and yet it's tough to fix them😕
Very helpful, thank you Levy!
Well I'm 1300 in rapid and 1900 in puzzles and this is helpfull
I'm 900 in rapid and 1500 in puzzles 😢
I checked my previous three games that I lost. And all of them had me lose a major piece (queen/rook) in a single move. Maybe I should implementation a double check second or two before doing the move. None of the games were time trouble and 10+0
Ah, another vid of her Gotham doesn’t clickbait us with his titles
Got my first brilliant move today, but for some reason the move I played leading up the the brilliant move was a miss, is that normal because I can’t see it going any other way but to checkmate?
Keep up with those videos
