    My gf bought one a 2018 bi-tone blue and black hybrid. Its way quieter then I expected in the cabin. The ride is smooth as it absorbs bumps very well. And the ecvt gearbox is not annoying as others say.

    Why less BHP from the 1.5 hybrid than the 1.5 petrol ? Any ideas ? Please ?

      Good question for Toyota company. If you compare specification to petrol 1.5 Dual VVT-i
      111 KM 6 M/T then hybrid has worse performance but it is more economical and I think that is the reason.

      The hybrid petrol engine works on Atkinson cycle and the normal petrol one works on Otto cicle. Could be that the difference I don't know but Atkinson cycle is used to save fuel. Also the hybrid version has a e-cvt transmission, so that helps to on how power is distributed to the wheels compared to a manual transmission on the manual one. Also the hp stated on the hybrid version is not the sum of the full petrol engine power + full electric engine power since they never work at full power at normal use. Hence you can find it yourself and check that the total hp is not the sum of these two.

      @@marcofreitas5321 This is the reason. It's roughly equivalent to a 1.0l regular engine in terms of power and torque. Look up 1NZ-FXE. The battery gives a boost at the top end, but in general the engine is designed to run efficiently at a certain RPM with variable cylinders rather than raw power.

    An older Lexus CT200h with (~200k km on board) or more "fresh" 1.5 hybrid yaris as a city car for young couple? what is dynamic on Highway? Please tell your opinion about noise and dynamic while driving on petrol engine. thank you

      Yaris does not have armrest
      even. Corolla hybrid is less noisy than full petrol corolla that what I noticed. I cannot tell you anything about Lexus as I only has a tour in car showroom without driving.

    How fast can you go with this car ? And is it true that there is a lot of noise in the cabin while driving fast (on the highway for example) ? Thanks

      it is not comfortable to drive this car above 120km/h and yes there is noise.

    • @Simon-ls8xf
      @Simon-ls8xf 3 роки тому +1

      Noise is present only when accelerating hard like in all cars. It doesn't have much HP so you have to flor it more often but this is the case in any small car with 100hp. Actually it's not very loud and in 90percent of the time hybrid is more silent than normal petrol engine. I have a hybrid and coming from honda jazz 2008 it's much better car. It has good amount of torque (160+) so hills aren't a problem, it can be pretty fast uphill. Ecvt is great, no need to change gears, so no problems with wrong gear, clutch and very very smooth drive, no jerkiness. You want powerful car look elsewhere, you want cheap to run nice city car with low consumption and very quiet peaceful reliable drive? Buy Yaris. And it's normal to drive on highway nothing special , I drive it around 120-140 and it's great dunno why people crying. You can go 170 kmh.my average consumption is 4.2L after 3.500 kilometres but I did only 300 km on highways.

  • @herkolubos
