      @@triciahardimon6175 This is NOT a movie. It's an episodic/limited series. Roma (and Mudbound) was only eligible because it was not only a movie, but it also had a limited run at the theaters. I don't know why people on forums like this keep saying WTSU is eligible for the Oscars when it is not. It is eligible for the Primetime Emmys, however because of its format (limited series with 4 episodes).

    I read a comment on one post about Jharrell bodying that part! He bodied it, embodied it, slayed it, honored Korey and his pain through it. YES, GIVE HIM EV-ER-Y AWARD! EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE OF THEM! My prayers for the Exonerated Five, all the talented actors (child & adult) involved in this project, the incomparable Ava Duvernay...and for CHANGE. I am definitely in change, not just chat mode. I'm on it!!! If this series does not inspire ALL of us to find places where we can make a difference with this flawed system and to begin that process, then WE failed Ava, the EXONERATED 5, and our future generations.

    He played Kory so well! I watched an interview of the Central Park 5 and the real Kory said he don’t do too many interviews because he was so angry and I understand why now! Why would you send a 16 year old boy to Rykers Island. They tried to kill him in my eye. God Bless those men and I mean that from my heart and their families. It is extremely important for our people to be able to express themselves articulately and clearly because there are so many stories that need to be told. This could not have been done if there wasn’t an extensive level of research and art to display the pain and injustice that occurred. I cried for hours but this series is a MUST watch. This is a honest depiction of our lives and the trauma that we endure every day when we have to watch the news or are on social media. Thank you to the innocent 5 for sharing your stories; not giving up and screaming your innocence. Without your strength for 30 years there’s no humanity given to those who go to prison, there’s known injustice in the justice system and it needs to be dismantled from root to stem.

    So impressed by the production/cast of this story but Jharrel Jerome impressed me the most; I believed all of the characters -- excellent! Jharrle's performane has sealed his future as an excellent actor -- Bless you Jharrel and bless Corey Wise.

    Hopefully Mr. Jerome wins every award there is to win...If he doesn't win not one... he would still be a winner in the world's eyes!
    I'm sure all the people involved in ruining Kory wise's life would have to admit that he played the heck out of the kid they sent to prison for no reason at all.

    What a great actor Jharrel is. So intelligent, humble and gives an amazing performance in this series. Very hard to watch the injustice in the series. Growing up in NYC myself, and reading about this in the papers, I was horrified to see what happened behind the scenes to these young teens. But these actors give those teens depth and their true persona as victims of the hostility they faced then. Superb job, Jharrel.

    This young man was absolutely incredible he made it seem so real. I had so many emotions. He was phenomenal. I remember 89 so well I was living on 110 st I was 24 when this happened. This young man deserves an award for this great performance he played two roles and both well done. It was so heartfelt and disheartening at the same time. The hole miniseries was so well put together Ava job well done.

    Just very lil' of the things Corey went thru seeing this phenomenal actor!!!!!💯 He made me feel sorry for him and Corey 😢 it felt and seemed too real and emotional it triggered my damn mental health and I'm still traumatized by it just watching 4 or 5 hours of a serious........ God bless America and destroy the wicked system it's set up to set us back mentally if we can't be broken physically 💔💪🏾

    He is so mature and eloquent in speech far from what he played in the film he seemed much different maybe a bit delayed but I watched the real Kory questioned video it was exactly the same. It also shows him coming back with a different story Alittle bit like he had been told to change it! They are such great actors and my hat goes off to these men!

    • @Bonitaymorena
      @Bonitaymorena 5 років тому

      The real Korey has a hearing problem so that might explain why he seems delayed. He seems very innocent still like a kid eventhough he is a grown man. I wonder is he had dyslexia which would explain him having trouble reading and if he has a hearing problem that would make it much worse when the lawyers were trying to manipulate them.

    Thank you Jharrel for portraying such a beautiful and special person as Korey is the way you did. I watched the doc years ago and Korey made my heart melt. He is pure, a kind of innocence you don't find these days. So much that even Matias Reyes saw it in him.
    I remember Khalief Browder that succumbed to Rikers Island nightmare.
    It's all so sad!
