Facts! The story isn't really the longest story ever so I did kinda see it ending soon. If he hadn't explored at all, and did side quests, then we woulda finished a lot sooner.
Something I love about the Khan fight is Jin’s final words to him. He says he will be forgotten, and he actually was. There’s no record of Genghis Khan ever having a grandson named Khotun Khan. We know that Tsushima was invaded by the Mongols, but no man named Khotun Khan was a part of it. I just love that detail, whether it’s intentional or not.
What I love most is the contrast between Jin’s last words to Khotun Khan, and his last words to Lord Shimura (if you choose to honour his last wish) “No, you will be forgotten” “I will make sure you are remembered… as a skilled warrior, a wise leader… and a father.”
When you said I want to 100% this game, I felt you. I had the same reaction, it was my 1st Platinum trophy ever and this game will forever remain as flawless

I’m hoping we get story teller missions in Ghost of Yotei about legendary warriors from the past like this game had. Going through and hearing about skilled warriors from the mongol war of Tsushima, and a tale about a legendary warrior, known as the ghost of Tsushima
There’s definitely gonna be a mention of the ghost is Tsushima in Yote. The mask I think is a good indicator of it, not to mention she’s also referred to as the ghost. So I feel the ghost is now a title given to the exceptional few who earn it. Kind of like how the Batman later on becomes not a single individual but a title passed on. Same with the ghost.

It's an act of selfishness, you dont "bettay" the ghost by killinghim at all, you lose nothing by killing him, and, in a way, by doing so they reconcile. Did you see what happens in that ending? Two people who were family, and due to circumstances fell apart, end up reconciling in their last moment together, neither betraying their ideals. Just a family moment, being kind to your uncle who raised you for most of your life, just a man granting his family hos final wish. This by NO means contradicts jin's journey

@ I wouldn’t say so. It makes no sense narratively whatsoever. The game is about Jin breaking away from tradition to save his home. Throughout the game he expresses how disgusting it is to kill family and he steps further and further away from the path of the Samurai to be the Ghost. In the end, he’s not shackled by that sense of honour that he’s lived his entire life by so he follows his own rules and does what he thinks is best. He’s no longer a slave to honour. Why would he confine himself to something that he views as wrong? Something that he has sacrificed absolutely everything to go against to save his people? He saw Shimura as his father and wouldn’t ever dream of killing him for something so petty as “honour”. Jin has no honour but he will not kill his family. You’re entitled to your own opinion of course.

Both endings are gut-wrenching either way and there is no “good” ending, but personally I found the choice to honour Shimura’s last wish to be more satisfying (to me) insofar as a last attempt to mend the broken relationship between the Ghost and the man who raised Jin. Historically (and realistically), Shimura would’ve either been disgraced by the Shogun or made to commit seppuku-which is about as bad as it can get for a man who lived his whole life by a code of honour. Throughout the fight, and before it, it was clear that neither Jin nor Shimura wanted to do this-and the last telegraphed attack and scream from Shimura to me seems very out of place for such a skilled warrior-he could not bear the weight of living his new life without his *son*, almost as if he wanted it to end then and there. Though, I agree with SuckerPunch in making the Ghost ending canon-as the game is about breaking away from the shackles of honour. “The proud will not endure.”

Visually, musically, story and gameplay possibly the best game I’ve ever played, had me in tears many times throughout my play through and watching your reactions brought it all back for me, likewise sorry Jin’s story will not return in sequel but still very much looking forward to part 2, just hope that on the PS5 Pro they can push the visuals to new heights though Ghost was so good I can’t imagine how it could be improved Merry Xmas, Stephen aged 63 U.K.
Daisuke Tsuji, the Voice Actor for Jin, in his playthrough said he didn’t kill his uncle, and felt that was more true to Jin’s character in his opinion
Just finished the game and I changed the difficulty to lethal just for the final fight. I’ve put 120 hours on this, got the platinum trophy, and this might take the spot of my favorite game of all time. Glad you enjoyed it too
What a fantastic game. I was stuck on the shimura choice for about 40 minutes thinking “what would Jin do?”. Jin has got to be one of the best video game protagonists of all time easily. Can’t wait for the dlc!! I just got 100% yesterday

There was only one other game in recent years where I done that, and it was Days Gone. I for one would love to watch you play through that. You chose the ghost way, that’s why you walk to the yellow leafs (new leafs). If you kill uncle you cry in the midst of the red leafes (old leafes, the old way)
I did 100% the game and it was 100% worth it. New Game+ is a blast. I hope you stream the DLC, Ishikawa, and Masako tales. Great playthru. One of the greatest games of all time.
The DLC is really good. It was actually part of the original story but was cut for some reason. But Ghost did so well, that they used it for the DLC. I watched a very early vid of Daisuke Tsuji and he was talking about the game. He was disappointed that the backstory of Jin and his father was cut - but then he stopped abruptly and changed the subject. He wasn't supposed to say anything about unpublished stuff and caught himself. So in the game before the DLC came out, you can see his father is in the snow, not in petals. And the story around his death was wrapped up without a continuation.
Once Nobu died, i vowed every single person that played a part in his death, will die, Unc included, shit tore me apart though, but Nobu didn’t deserve any of that

The DLC is really good. It was actually part of the original story but was cut for some reason. But Ghost did so well, that they used it for the DLC. I watched a very early vid of Daisuke Tsuji and he was talking about the game. He was disappointed that the backstory of Jin and his father was cut - but then he stopped abruptly and changed the subject. He wasn't supposed to say anything about unpublished stuff and caught himself. So in the game before the DLC came out, you can see his father is in the snow, not in petals. And the story around his death was wrapped up without a continuation.
