Try and sit sideways on the side of the boat rather than facing forwards this way u can hold the tiller in front of your body which is a lot easier, additionally if the wind gets up and you want to go fast u can lean out the side of the boat more easily but this is more advanced. :)
The floor of the sunfish cockpit is faux teak deck purchased on Amazon. It’s very comfortable and looks nice. At least in my opinion it does. They have different color combinations too… the floor on my O’Day Ospray is real wood.

Don’t think I’d get too advanced in hiking or leaning off the sides do to a bad hip that needs replacing… so it’s easy sailing for me
