You said this version sounded “wholesome.” However, Amy’s song was very dark, so dark that Angelina’s mother wouldn’t let her sing the lyrics. So-Angelina rewrote the dark lyrics and changed it from “black” to “love.” That is why you saw her reading her changes on the music stand as she had just written the new lyrics. They were there to record this. After hearing it played back (there’s a video of that), she rejected it and wanted to sing it again. This is the second take which she obviously approved. I really appreciate your devotion to Angelina and her talent. You have some great insight here. Please continue to react to her 200+ songs on UA-cam. She’s like wine-she gets better with age!
Regarding the 100s of videos, I think most people, particularly those new to Angelina, look first to her UA-cam channels for content. In reality those channels have only about 70 videos total with many of them being duplicates or different versions of the same songs. The rest of her videos require some searching and knowledge where to look for them.
Back to Black and I Put a Spell On You have the most views for one thing because they are fairly old and probably the most intriguing of her earlier UA-cam videos.
This was her second take. There is a video where she sat and listen to her recording. but she didn't like it at all the first time.

Angelinas mother didn't want her young daughter to sing the original lyrics, they were not appropriate for her age. Throug the last 24 hours before performing this she had to change the lyrics. And we can all see how well she did it.

In Angelina's inspiration and research, Amy has a particular place, it's in fact a bond that often comes to mind spontaneously, also due to the jazz-soul connotation that is so similar for both. Angelina has rearranged several of Amy's songs, often having to change (as in this case and without altering the band's arrangement) the lyrics, due to the extremely crude words that were used in the songs, but her versions of the songs are always extremely respectful and emotional, thanks to the passion with which she fills them with grace (is softer than Amy), with her warm and deep voice. You can't help but fall in love with her and her dedication to her dream! 💛🧡❤

Great reaction ans always Richard. Question for any Angel. Given this was an obvious rehersal, was there an official final performance of Back to Black by Angelina shortly thereafter? I'd be surprised if there was and Mery didnt record it.
