Minus sounds more classical NYHC and Jorge sounds more metal. Both are great. I listened Master Killer when it first came out and fucking loved it but this demo, wich I listened to years later, has grown on me since then becoming my fav Merauder's recording.
great demo I bought it in Blecker Boob,s on Bleecker Street when it first came out! had both demo,s by them! one was stolen the other tape snapped after 21 year,s of playing it? they had so much energy to them when they player this back when they first started out! seen them when Master killer came out to later and still were great live!
Saw them with Minus at L'amour. They opened for Demolition Hammer and Deicide. I fell in love. They were the perfect blend of metal and HxC and I loved it.
Great Demo Mius was a better fit to me. and I seen them 2 times during this demo. Great times at shows. N.Y. Hardcore or Metal core it does not matter! "93" great year for hardcore in N.Y.
What’s your culture? NYHC is a wide genre of punk metal ska reggae origins of grunge etc. if you dig reggae check out the Bad Brains I against I If you just came across this and really dig it then check out agnostic front any album
@@ignatatus666 Lol, grunge, are you serious? It was born long before grunge. We could summarize the NYHC as follows : a hardcore punk base, to which we added a big Oi!/Streetpunk, Metal (Crossover) influence, with a mentality close to Hip-Hop.
I agree! After the '80s ended 'NYHC' basically became a euphemism for beatdown or metallic "hardcore." Totally different from regular hardcore which is thrashier and punkier. Guessing the conflation occurred in the '90s when hardly anybody was playing og hardcore, the closest being obscure powerviolence and thrashcore bands lol. Don't get me wrong, this rips. it's just weird to me that people would put this in the same category as victim in pain
Jorge was doing Full Contact back then, when this demo came out. Full Contact was hard, check out greed, get outta my face...Ever heard of INJUSTICE? Necro (Ron Braunstein) and Jorge Rosado, and another guy, 3 man band. That was back in the early 80's, Jorge also started ILL NINO (el nino) Christian played bass, sal on drums, jorge vocals..God bless the NYHC vets and warriors!
The most intimidating debut of a band. They all came out dressed in black coveralls and hockey masks and yelled “This is a stick up!!!”
Yes
Hard fuckin core!💯
This is tuff! Thanks for sharing
crazy!!!
Merauder defined metalcore the og gangsta style way. Much love to Jorge rosado for keeping this band alive over the yrs.

Jorge is a real LEGEND !!!! He NEVER gave up, never left the path...He just deserves ANY given RESPECT !!!!
OG'S...I'm torn....Got beerzzz in me and smoking pinners...Still fucking jams

Haha dude said pinners literally have not even heard someone say that since early 90’s .. lol the small things ✊🏿
@Loki Saurus I was wrecked n figured NY people would know what I meant. I'm an 80's kid 😆

Sob was a great guitarist and friend rip brother
the drums on this sound awesome
Yea guitar too I have this but no cassette player
I don’t normally listen to demos much but this is absolutely amazing 🤘
I like this guys vox better too honestly makes it sound kinda punk. And the snare in the demo sounds so hard.
agreed
guitar sound is also really thick. no re-amps, just lots of tube gainnnnn
Minus started it. But jorge gives it that raw appeal merauder needed for the future..
R.I.P SOB
All hardcore is punk. If its not punk then its not really hardcore

Its all good! Though I would love if they would re-release this demo as a cd or LP.
I can see Paul baloff influence here!!
Minus vocals remind me of a cross between Raybeez and first dark angel singer
