God damnit. This is one of the best fucking hardcore eps ever in fucking history. They were sooo fucking ripping at this point! Not only were they worlds fattest hardcore band at this point but they were all masters of their craft. Just listen to those solos and riffs hot damn!!! Also slayer hippies drumming is superior to all other “punk or hardcore” drummers of his time. This is the real deal

Good god, Drug Revival shreds. Sorry I never got to see these dudes live in their heyday - big ass guys playing this fast and drinking 40s was just my speed as a DC kid on the other side of straightedge. You know, being past the age of 14 when you’re straightedge by default.
The fast part of "Ballad of a Pre-Op" is one of the greatest moments in punk rock history. (Feels bad in 2022 because the lyrics are kinda dickish to trans people.) But that rhythm guitar, Slayer Hippy, and Vegetable's solo...it rocks like holy hell fuck.
Punks not supposed to be pc, especially 80s hardcore. Also the "trans" people can get stuffed, major corporations and woke dumbfucks kiss the very ground those people (mentally disturbed unfortunately) walk on
Lucky! I was fortunate to see Wrecking Crew at the Rat right around the release of Balance of Terror. Great show but I really would have loved to see Poison Idea at some point, that is pretty cool.

Just letting you know Portland summers are just as brutal as California. Hell last summer it got up to like 115. Blazing hot summers and too cold winters. There’s only a few months out of the year that are like perfect haha. I’m from California and been here 10+ years. Just getting hotter every year.
Was New Rose an homage to the Damned or a sick joke that PI can play the song way better in passing than the Damned could spending their entire career playing that song?
Definitely a homage. Covered GISM as well. It's all about saying "this is what inspired us" and I don't agree they do it better than the Damned. The Damned are absolute legends.

Hell yeah! Bought my copy of this EP at the release gig in Portland. Insane band, every time I saw them it was an incredible experience.
