I've never owned Garmin before. My Fitbit recently gave out & I've been researching new wearables, as I wasn't too satisfied with Fitbit overall. This video was unbelievably helpful without having to sit through 40+ minutes of content. Thank you so much!!
Forgot to mention that Venu 3 currently doesn't have ECG. Keep that in mind!

The increased size of the display doesn't mean that automatically the pixel density has also increased. That has to do with the resolution of the screen . If the resolution of the screen remained the same with Venu 2 a bigger screen means that the pixel density has decreased.
Still no Training Load/Effect, no Aerobic/Anaerobic Effect. It still lacks an overall score that would instantly give you a meaningful comprehensive measure of your performance as compared to previous workouts, as an indication of your overall progress. I was looking forward to this upgrade for nearly two years now, but your reviews helped me realize that the V3 may still not be what I'm looking for. I'll wait for the Huawei GT4 Pro, which seems to have more accurate HR sensors. A very insightful video, thanks Ryan.

All I can hear is climat and CO2 terror and the companies (Garmin Apple all the same) are making small or no hardware changes to their every year releases. All new features could be implemented in venu2 with no problems . Climate hipocrites … all they care is money

An open box Venu2 is a great deal. Nearly as good as the 3. No significant improvements. The Garmin Ecosystem online is the best there is. FAR better then fitbit. I had both and kept my Venu2.
Probably switching from fb2 to Venue 3. Battery life is a big deal for me, otherwise I'd probably look for a Venu 2+
Google is NOT a hardware company... RIP Fitbit.
what do you mean by open box?
@@bardia8225 Some stores, like PlayBetter or Best Buy offer open box discounts. I got mine this way from PB. It's perfect. Sometimes people will return a purchase for whatever reason so it cannot be sold as new- but it is essentiall brand new- box, paperwork, only the seal on the box is broken. I saved about $100 at least- no regrets. With PB, you still get the full warranty and a return warranty so you really can't lose. You do want to make sure the place you buy it from is an "Authorized Dealer" so that you will have full warranty. That said, these things are pretty solidy- never had an issue. The Venu2 is a great device AND the online ecosystem is FAR better and more mature with great features and competitions vs. that of FitBit.
@@bardia8225I think he meant open source. Dunno if Garmin is open source but it’s definitely extremely customizable and flexible because of iq connect.
Thanks! Great and very helpful video. I have a Vivoactive 4 with a semi-dead battery. Unfortunately it's impossible for me to buy a replacement battery. So I'll be using my watch till it eventually dies and buy a new one. I like the Venu 3 best but I don't think it"s worth 380 € (or more). There's also the VA 5 but it doesn't have an altimeter...
Garmin has waaaay too many models which is extremely confusing for people to get into if you've never owned a Garmin watch. 😅

Its almost the same watch except for a slightly larger display and improved heart rate. And a couple days longer battery!
Can you call from both watches &communicate from the actual watch? Same with typing in any message from the watch?
I like the improvements. But the built quality looks better on the old one. However, new one has improved new features. 🤔
I'm so glad the back is not stainless steel anymore, as that was one of the main things stopping me buying the Venu 2 plus, as some people, like me have a reaction to Nickel so can't wear stainless steel.
Yes, an allergic reaction is a legitimate concern. Me personally always get the reactions from the silicone straps. 🙂
Ah, that's why my wrist was very itchy and red. A different band helped, but it never went away. I have ordered the Venu 3 now, and I hope it will be better.

Would you recommend changing from the Venu 2s to the Venu 3? I feel like the heart rate monitor in my watch isn't working as accurately
after watching lots of venu 3 review, then venu 2 plus ad popped up offering 40% discount (which made its price less than half of that of venu 3 (in Thailand)), so I went for venu 2 plus😅

in my venu 2 you can select gps mode or gps + glonass or gps + galileo, in venu 3 you can select all systems, is more acuracy the gps in venu 3 than venu 2? tks

Great review Ryan - thank you! I have a set of Rally pedals that i would like to install on my Airdyne stationary bike. Problem is, my Venu 2 Plus isn't capable of pairing with the pedals to get speed and cadence readings. In visiting with Garmin support, I am told the Venu 3 is compatible with the Rally pedals. Do you have any actual experience with this?

It's one of the new stock watch faces. In the settings if you go to the watch faces I'm sure you'll find it.

Great review, will ECG function work in india?
It needs regulatory approval first so there is no guarantee it will.
You can activate it with an GPS Spoofing App and set it to USA, I did the same with my Venu 2 Plus.
Im located in Germany where this feature is not enabled yet, with this way you can activate it and it stays activated
