Technically, the shuffle performed is an ordinary Riffle shuffle, since none of the cards were reverse-counted before shuffling. But, in the case of an alternating Red/Black deck, the outcome of a bona fide Gilbreath shuffle can be achieved by judiciously dividing the deck before Riffle shuffling.
