Diesel Mechanic 16:13 hey sir. You sound like you have an understanding of “Calvinism “ like I used to have. I don’t really use that word to be honest. But I’m sure your talking about God predestined people for heaven and hell? Because calvinist lean on the term the God is sovereign? .. Well Truth is God is Sovereign over all things.. He is the beginning and the end. We also have free will.. God doesn’t force people to believe Him.. but He KNOWS from the beginning who would and wouldn’t be a believer.. so that’s much different then your mindset of thinking He created certain people for Hell. Also I too used to not like the term “Lordship salvation “ but as a grew in the word that’s exactly what salvation is. You can’t make Jesus Lord, He Is Lord period.. and it’s up the the person to accept that truth. If Jesus is not Lord in your life than you may want to examine yourself to see if your in the faith! As scripture says it’s God the Father that must draw a sinner to Christ John 6:44. Also you must be born again ( in spirit) another work only God can do to someone! John 3:3. Only God can reach down and change a persons heart of stone to one of flesh! He sends us the comforter (Holy Spirit) that resides in a a believer. That’s the start of sanctification through regeneration. I got saved a few years ago and as a new believer listened to MacArthur and Ray Comfort until I got hit with the Lordship salvation info and it made me draw back other preachers due to me not wanting to follow a “works gospel” . I look back at how wrong I was now and now I have even greater respect for MacArthur, Washer etc. Fruit is automatic of a believer .. it isn’t works. Read James 2 or 1John etc. That’s the fruits of a believer.. it’s not sinnless perfection but there will be a change in that person. One doesn’t have an encounter with the all mighty Jesus and not walk a changed man! A forgiven man! As you grow in the Lord and understand who God is and how He sees sin and the seriousness of sin you understand the love of God and what He expects from us!

Guys please pray for me that God would reveal himself to me through the scriptures. I’m a college student and I don’t have a lot of Christian friends so please pray that the Lord would give me true Christian friends and people who will come along beside me during my trials and help me
Stay strong Danielle. You obviously know which men to turn to for teaching. Perhaps for just now God is using you as a light among others who desperately need Him. Friends will come along. Find a truly godly church. I sent an email to RC Sproul church, they sent back contact info for the Presbyterian church. From that I found a local reformed church. Good luck.

I'm in the same position as you are. I have just found a true Christian church, three weeks ago after ir teen years, and have to drive an hour each way to attend. I'm praying to make some friends there. I have no Christian friends or family so feel very isolated. YET Jesus is with me always and will never abandon me. I pray for you. Be patient, it is all in His timing.x by being alone I have spent far more time in the Bible and studying the Word and listening to reformed preachers. So use your time well while you wait for others to come alongside.

According to what I experienced, that moment God decided to passed his righteousness to me, all of the information about God at the back of my mind came down to my heart as a best love story. Out of the blue, I started knowing I’m not that I’m who I was. So, this act that brings me in the presence of God in every moment of my life is what Worship is. Going to the church once in week is not merely what it is but a life we live is a worship…
I am thankful that God has given the world such great pastors who are being given true knowledge of God!

These men each need to take apprentices to guide and hand the mantle of the light of true worship to be carried for the next generation. I miss RC. How bless these mighty men to remain. Pray God raises up the Elisha generation.
The story of Thomas Watson reminded my of my uncle. He was a pastor who loved the lost. He shared once how it was hard because he also had a heart problem. Later we were at a camp meeting together and volunteered to wash dishes and that sweet fellowship was my last memory of him. I went to a nearby town to get family pictures taken, when I came back I heard that he had gone to the prayer meeting tent, knelt down to pray and collapsed.

If any Christian from before 100 years ago walked into any Christian church today and saw women with uncovered heads they would immediately know something had gone very wrong. For 2k years all Churches, even the heretical ones, understood the words of Paul for women to cover their heads clearly. We have fallen very fast and very far when even these men are afraid to tell the women in their Churches to obey Scripture. These are the most Biblically sound leaders I know of, truly great men in my eyes, yet they fear Jezebel.

Born and raised in the Catholic Church I think the only thing I never questioned was the music we used to sing from the hymnal. I was born again very recently and I feel like I stepped on a hornets net with this issue when I asked about it at the fellowship.

Could someone listen to John MacArthur's closing prayer, specifically at time stamp 50:40 and following. I'm puzzled. Because he said left to our own devices and the Word we would be lost. We need teachers. I would say we need The Teacher, The Holy Spirit.
interesting that macarthur says that visitors should not feel like they belong there. Ive seen alot of churches begin to say "belong, believe, become". Interesting contrast!
Kevin Trembley he was talking about unbelievers, not general visitors, visitors who are believers would be a different story, that’s how I understood what he said.
he was talking about unbelievers and worship. Unbelievers cannot 'worship' since they do not know God. Of course they are welcome in the church, but they are not part of the worshiping. Visitors who are believers yes they worship.
That is why during a communion service it is asked that if they do not know the Lord do not participate

I’ve noticed the word “freedom “ in many songs now. If all the congregations knew we were once slaves of sin, pardoned by Christ to be His slave (Christ). So many hands would not be lifted. Freedom in Christ is now avoided by even Biblically sound churches. I see freedom to be whoever I think I am, free to sin. Response is welcome, any Biblical guidance here is welcome.
Paul wrote a whole chapter explaining why you’re not free to sin
Steve Lawson mentioned Dr. MacArthur said that the Book of Psalms was the hymnal in the Old Testament. So...if that is the case, what is the hymnal of the New Testament?

Can we get a list of where your churches are or where you worship and teach? There is nothing like the worship of which you are speaking so eloquently anywhere near where I live.
I would research pastors who are like-minded with the pastor's on stage. I attend John MacArthur's church. I followed the "bread crumbs" (i.e. pastors, etc.) that led me to his church.
Founders, sermon audio, and the masters seminary all have reliable church searches that are in this camp of theology.

Contact Ligonier Miniseries and ask if they could give you any suggestions! I am sorry for you! I know this is a problem. But, I live in a very liberal State and yet have 5+ biblical churches within 5 min to an hour of me. Praise God! You may, I hope, have Biblical options and not know it. -Danya
@@dsanders74 I go to a church that does not feed me as JM did (I use to go to GCC) but I do go every sunday, then I make the time to listen to both John M. and Stephen Daley every sunday to supplement my worshiping/

The question about what book to read and the answer they gave did not went the way I expected. I wanted to hear what book in the bible both in old and new to help guide my search for who God is. But instead they gave human reference. I am grateful for the ministry they gave but I believe guidance through the Bible is most crucial than written books by man. Exposition, exegetical, and hermeneutics are all results of years of study of the scripture.

Yes, that is the area where Jonny Mac is disconnected from the Psalms. David worshipped God with the WHOLE man Body,, Soul/Mind and SPIRIT, with all his MIGHT.
Here is where you ignore MacArthur and go with David, the man after Gods heart. Stop condemning emotion - that is a huge blind spot with Johnny Mac.
Its the Junior High worshippers who are more in li e with the re kless abandon that David had for worship. "Adult" worship that is "wooden" and stiff dies not make it higher grade worship.
I don't think anyone was really denying this. Rather, MacArthur was being careful to say that worship is linked to knowledge and that it's not blind emotion. Emotion is a most wonderful thing in it's right context.
Jonathan David, as a pattern for worship of the Father and the Son, would you not see the scene in Revelation 4 & 5 as the prototype for our worship? After all, the word worship or homage (proskuneo) does mean to make oneself as low as possible and that before God. John does get very emotional in chapter 5 (uncontrollable weeping) but that is because he saw none worthy to take the book and break its seals until it was told to him that the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David had overcome. John observes the 24 elders prostrating themselves before the Lamb because He was worthy. Just a couple of observations.

emotions that are ‘stirred by affections towards God’ - for who He is & what great things He has accomplished -
is not the same emotion that you see someone/yourself enjoying the music or atmosphere or environ!😅

Listening to John talk about the responsibility of the Pastor and worship. My Pastor put a co-habitating couple on the “worship” team. I was so disappointed in that decision.

We are talking about song worship? Then although worship is the whole service. When songs are being song, the worship leader is that one directing the song for those few minutes. Those people should be living right to administer the word of God through song, giving a hot beverage of to clear the stomach for the solid word, the preacher. The preacher continues the worship, bringing the deeper communion with God.
Is not the Holy Spirit the worship leader? It is He that speaks to us of Christ and brings to our remembrance all things concerning the Christ.

One that can be proven by multiple texts, and exergesis. If I was in your position I would repent,. Too much of today's "worship" is like a man-centered concert. God is to be the object of our praise and worship. I believe that praise is for what He has done and worshaip (worship) is for who He is. And the way we live can be a form of worship. The man who is missing is Dr. Sproul who is now making Jesus laugh.

We need to have a real conversation about politics in the church. The vile sin that comes out of the president’s mouth on a daily basis is outright celebrated in MANY churches around America. And this is one of the most divisive things I can remember that is dividing congregations. Pastors- leave the politics at home.
Heather Martinez -that’s because the president is not a Christian. Nevertheless God has seen fit to put him in the office for His Divine purposes and His will. The pulpit is not a place for political argumentation !!

On his arrival, Jesus found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.
The three days after death were called “days of weeping,” which were followed by four “days of lamentation,” thus making up the seven “days of mourning” (see Genesis 27:41 Days of Mourning).
According to rabbinical thought, the spirit wanders about the sepulcher for three days seeking an opportunity to return into the body; but when the aspect of the body changes, it hovers no more, but leaves the body to itself. The friends of the deceased were in the habit of visiting the sepulcher for three days after death and burial, probably because they supposed they would thus be nearer to the departed soul. When the fourth day came, and decomposition took place, and the soul, as they supposed, went away from the sepulcher, they beat their breast and made loud lamentations. This explains the allusion to the “four days” in this text and in verse 39. The saying that one had been in the grave four days was equivalent to saying that bodily corruption had begun.
