When Penny finally realized the harsh reality in acting business. Like she said, "I thought I did a really good job..." sometimes things won't just go your way. Plus she even didn't know the name of the TV show NCIS (she called it NCII, NCSTD), its understandable why they cut her scene.

Whether or not Penny is a good or terrible actress is irrelevant at the moment; you can't help but feel bad for her. She was really proud of the work she did and was excited to show it off to her friends, only to learn it had been discarded.
This part broke my heart at the time. :( She tried so hard!!!

It's looking like Penny is living in an unrealistic state of delusion where her only concern is getting fame and fortune through acting, and leonard is just the guy she's dating for right now.
In reality, it is a fair accomplishment to act in a tv series even though the scene was cut.
Scenes get cut all the time, but she can add to her cv, I was in ncis.
This scene is a good example where delusion crashs into reality.
It is total BS how Penny's scene got cut as she was excited about it
That's awful after trying so hard to impress those master minds..😢 poor Penny..it was a hard but a necessary blow for her character to grow 🪴

Comedy can also be fictional tragedy. It sure is funny when the characters are super late for the funeral, and don't pay proper attention to where they're driving, and accidentally run over an old lady. Real life that would be horrible. In a comedy movie, it's hilarious.

Yep. "Deleted scenes" are not deleted nowadays - they are moved to the bonus content in the DVD release.

@FairyCharmer3005 because she played in a terrible movie where even the director told her if it was a good movie she wouldn't be in it, she had a Hemorrhoids commercial and a play above a bowling alley, she was as attractive as the other actresses that auditioned for roles but she never consistently got the part, she became a pharmaceutical salesperson because she couldn't cut it as an actress
Well she did had unrealistic goals and dreams. She couldn't take constructive criticism and only wanted to hear what she wanted to hear.
