Thank you for making this!! I’m installing marble all over my bathroom and I’m super worried about the maintenance and cleaning process but this video was super helpful and I’m definitely not as worried as i was!!!
So happy to help! I was worried when I was installing mine too. I was hoping to help make it one less thing to worry about for people. Good luck with your new tile!!!
Would you recommend sealing marble shower floor tile or leave it un-sealed? I have seen that a lot of professionals don’t recommend sealing as it can cause water to become trapped in the tile and stain it dark. Would love to hear what you did to keep your beautiful marble shower looking so wonderful. Thanks! 😊
Hi! I sealed all of my marble, including the floor, before grouting and then again once the grout was finished and perfect. My marble is a polished marble. Is yours tumbled or more dull looking than mine?
I have two marble showers walls and floor. After each shower the walls and glass doors get squeegeed of excess water then dried with a towel. It eliminates most of the mold on the floor. The grout used is mold resistant too. I have no issues with the walls at all.
I think most grout is mold and mildew resistant now. The one I used is too. But, grout is porous. So, soap and shampoo can build up I. The pores eventually growing pink mildew. Drying the glass and tile is a great way to slow that down. But, most households have only 1 person that would actually dry the shower. So, eventually, I have to treat for mildew. 👍
i have a question - my shower floor is natural stone. It gets very slippery from all the body wash products, hair products, and just body oils. What do you suggest for that?
Unfortunately, I think the only options are to clean more often or to stop using body oils in the shower. Sorry, maybe someone else has a different idea.✌
I’m about to tile my shower - marble eye level border and pebble marble floor - what do you use to wipe the surfaces of the shower in addition to this?
Although I am sure it works well, I would be careful recommending DuPont Mold & Mildew Stain Remover as it's primary chemical ingredient is Sodium Hypochlorite which is commonly known as bleach. Bleach, which has a high pH of 11-13, is an alkaline that can damage your marble floors with etching/staining.
This spray is formulated for natural stone. After using it for 5 years, I still have no etching. It’s possible the formula as a whole has dropped the pH into the neutral zone. But use what you want. 👍
@@AbbottsAtHome Thanks, that’s good news. I was actually able to pick up some MarbleLife. Do you still prefer that or have you moved onto DuPont? Actually trying it out today!
Funny that you posted this- I got the DuPont mold and mildew remover formulated for stone and was surprised when I used it because it smells exactly like bleach. But it’s formulated for stone. I don’t have marble shower walls- but a marble bench and floor so I use stone safe cleaning products on my shower walls. I’ll re-check the ph in this one.
Does this remove soap scum and water marks from calcium? I was out in bed rest throughout my pregnancy and the cleaning lady I had coming in didn’t do a good job with my showers and now I’m lost at trying to figure out what to do
Sorry to hear that, Daisy. For the last 4 years, I've only used Dawn Dish Soap and a soft scrubber on my shower tile and grout weekly. Then that Stone-safe mold & mildew spray every few weeks. And, my tile still looks like it did at install. So, I'd give it a try if I were you. As far as the calcium build up, maybe the spray will work. I'm not sure, it's not a probably on my tile. Hopefully, though.
I purchased the marblelife shower kit but it is not working on the dirt in my grout. I tried calling the customer service and received no help from there. Seems like all marketing from Marblelife but nothing to back their products. I have pictures of my marble shower floor tile grout if anyone can pin point if it's mold, dirt or soap scum. Can't figure out what it is.
If nothing is working, it could be that the grout is just stained or that the installer used dark mortar with light grout. You may need to use grout paint to make the grout white again. Check this video ua-cam.com/video/vl-5jZSqwvo/v-deo.html
I use the linked product now. It works exactly the same. The first one was removed from Amazon, so I can only find it in a few stores now. And, since I hate visiting stores, I switched so I can just order it when I need it. Use whichever one you can find. :)

@@judyanderson2930 I like both, the both work really well. I just had to remove the link for the Marbelife because it wasn't available on Amazon anymore. But, if you can find it in the store, I still recommend it. 👌👌
Hi! This video was made a year ago, but I actually tiled the shower over 2 years ago. And, this is the only way I have ever cleaned this tile. Works like a charm. :)
@@IndentureTrustee There's 2 I use. I just get the one I can get delivered the fastest. Both work! If the one you used didn't kill your mold, that makes me wonder if your mold is deeper than surface level. Mold is really hard to get rid of after it sits for a while. It just penetrates deeper and deeper into porous areas. If the mold is in caulk, I've never been able to get rid of mold once it's in caulk. I have to completely remove the caulk to kill the mold. If the mold is inside your grout, and you've tried everything to get rid of it, you might need to remove the grout and replace it. Good luck!
Keep pets away from the mildew spray while it works. You rinse that off after 5 minutes. The stone sealer is safe enough for kitchen counters. So, just follow the directions on the container. :)
The product comes in a defective bottle!! Wish I could say it was just the one bottle, but it has been every bottle, contacted the company, but no help.

What do you use to clean the hard water buildup on the glass shower doors, and marble tile in a marble shower?

In my house you have to take care of the shower after each use. No exceptions. Also I had my marble tile professionally sealed.
You have to reseal it from time to time- even after professional sealing, which typically happens when they install it.
