Happy Empire Day!
Empire Day was the day that Sheev Palpatine declared himself Emperor of the First Galactic Empire, bringing an end to the Clone Wars as well as the Republic in 19 BBY. Following that year, Empire Day became a holiday marking the anniversary of the rise of the Empire. Festivities of the holiday included a parade on various Imperial-controlled planets, the playing of the Imperial anthem, "Glory of the Empire," as well as the airing of Emperor Palpatine with two Royal Guards at the Imperial Senate, but the footage used made the Emperor seem younger and more physically appealing than he actually was at the time of the speech. Attendance to the festivities was mandatory. On Coruscant, the holiday was the cap to a week of festivities known as Ascension Week.

That's called Goose Step.
I love that Tarkin was the one overseeing the parade with Thrawn and other ranking officials from Imperial High Command being present. Nice touch making the troopers turn their heads towards them as they marched by.
Like the German soldiers in WWII.
@@Soundwave142 Well, George said he based the Empire's aesthetic largely off of the Nazi's in WWII, so it makes sense. I mean Tarkin even did the whole ✋️😠. 😂

@@BeneathAcacia Lucas also based the rebels off of the vietnam communists that were terrorists that performed shootings, hijackings, kidnappings, bombings, and suicide attacks. That's why you see so many rebels screaming while ramming their fighter jets into Imperial structures. By your own admission sir that makes you a terrorist for sympathising with a radical group. Better stay clear of 1954 or 2001 in case you get the urge to blow yourself or hit someone in the street for the commie/socialist cause.

This honestly really caputres the empire. I could totally belive this to be on coruscant with all the high ranking imperials and the emperor himself overwatching this. This is really well made, I would love to see the empire day more shown in live shows or movies. I know Rebels did made an episode where they celebrated it but Rebels did like 10% of what Empire Day really could have been. This here is already hitting like 70%. 100% would be like a full on parade with 10 thousand or 50 thousand troopers and 2k vehicles and what not. But overall this animation is fire!

And yep the parade took place on coruscant, in 1:08 you can see the imperial senate building in the distance

@@homer6292 its not useless i mean look at medieval armor for example only the most expensive one would protect you against almost everything but even cheaper armor would still protect from a lot of things but not against heavy weaponry its the same with stormtrooper armor it gives them better vision protects the soldiers from all the shrapnel and any other factors on the battlefield also most of the storm troopers that get shot usually survive but yes there is no armor that would protect you against everything

Very nicely done! The stormtroopers turning their heads simultaneously in the direction of their commanding officer and the goose step sounds remind me of parades in real life. Wish we got these kind of things not just in Rebels but in live action too.

Yep the one on the front was tarkin, thrawn and some moffs, grand admiral and high generals, admiral versio and the rest were in the back
And yep tarkin is a busy man, hes one of the most powerful individuals in the empire, both military and politically. Attending the parade would be one of his priorities

Interesting. Something in between a Soviet and a Chinese marching school. Definitely not Western. Too clearly for US. The Soviet school is clearly synchronized, but it resembles waves at sea. Chinese is similar, but there are no waves, the heads are aligned with each other, and either stably at the same level, or synchronously move up and down. Right there... Something new.
The galactic empire should have more scenes like these in the movies and tv series instead of StOrMtRoOpErS cAnT AImmmmmm lmaoo sLaVeRy for no reasoooonnn and fuckin racism, nazism, and other bad things that we created

What I love about the Galactic Empire is that it's a mirror for a lot of our countries to look at

Hi, I must say I'm impressed. This is the catch of the authoritarian or totalitarian regime's army march and it's much better than what's depicted in Rebels. For me, I'd like to imagine that it'll even more epic to see the parade inspired by the the mixture of Russian/Soviet and Chinese military parade; take place at the large square; each group of the Imperial officers (army, navy, and ISB), walkers crew,Stormtroopers, Scout Troopers, Shadow Troopers, Death Troopers, TIE pilots, and Dark Troopers doing their goosestep march, then you have ground vehicles including all variants of Imperial walkers rolling, followed by AA, cruise missiles, and IGBM, Intergalactic Ballistic Missiles, (I'm exaggerating but if Empire have some), and finally air force and Star Destroyers. This is what Lucasfilm and Disney should do and inspire. And again, excellent video.
Galactic Empire is the legitimate regime to bring peace to the galaxy.
