As someone who got married in Vegas, it was harder than just walking into a chapel. We had to go to the courthouse and get a marriage license first, show them our ID’s and sign a bunch of papers.

In Vegas the wedding officiant registers it with the county clerk, not the couple. However, you do have to get a marriage license from the bureau before the ceremony to actually have a legal marriage and not just a commitment ceremony.
This is how heretics get married, huh? No wonder there's rampant divorce.

Yep, I got married in Vegas, and we got our license the day before. Super easy and quick to get the license but can't get married as easily as the movies and tv shows portray

This show ripped off so much from Friends. I love TBBT but as someone who grew up with Friends I definitely prefer it. One scene in particular - when Ross was upset when he found out that Rachel returned earrings he bought for her to get something she actually liked. He called her unsentimental or something and she went into her room and came out with a box full of stuff she had kept as souvenirs of their relationship (including a fossil from the museum where they first had sex - funnily enough Ross is like “we’ve had people looking for that it’s millions of years old you can’t just take that” LMAO). There’s almost an identical scene in TBBT where Leonard doesn’t think Penny is as in love with him or keeps anything from their relationship, and she pulls out a box full of stuff to prove otherwise.

And that's the dangerous trap - they're specifically _designed_ not to look or feel real so people don't realise they're actually getting a legally binding marriage. It's all designed to separate a drunk person from their cash ... like pretty much everything in that city-that-shouldn't-still-exist.

She says yes, and said that it would also explain why the sky was also on its side. So basically sheldon is trying to ask if she was heavily drunk this time too.

The girl was a walking mattress in the early seasons.
When Sheldon tells her how many dudes have pounded her in the restaurant and she nearly has a breakdown, I think her body count is like 37 minimum, according to Sheldon's math, which is usually pretty solid.
And really, Leonard is an ugly, fat little dude. She only dated him cuz she needed validation after being worn out, and Leonard doesn't have any sort of experience, so he doesn't know that having to rub on one side of a vag ain't normal - he's just happy to be getting some.
Leonard was the perfect fall back guy for her, and she nailed him down.
I just felt bad for the little guy, but Penny was what he wanted, so he's happy.
At least he got to sleep with some other women...and he should've married Raj's sister if he was gonna marry anyone...
