Glad you like them! It was a tough road this past summer
I am so pleased that I stumbled onto your channel. I graduated high school in 1980. The 80’s started the conspicuous consumption of the working classes. Rolex watches, Mont Blanc pens, Porsche Design, Ralph Lauren Polo…..and Designer Fragrances. I enjoyed your Dunhill video. I once was a fan of Dunhill cigars. Their lighters and cutters were coveted. I am enjoying the way you walk things back to their origins. All of this is a distraction and bullshit but it gets you through a day and makes things a bit more enjoyable.
Context makes everything easier to appreciate, in my opinion.
Legend is one of the few fragrances I have gone through a whole bottle of. Its place on my shelf got filled with something else and sometimes I regret it. Excellent video, thank you!
Appreciate you! There's a Legend Parfum too I believe
Good video idea: brands that used to be known (or are still known in some circles) for one luxury item that are now more known for fragrances to the masses.
Cartier, Lalique, Dunhill, Hermes, Bottega Veneta, Van Cleef. And the designer clothing lines where the fragrances are now far more popular than the once-popular clothing: Carolina Herrera, Mugler, Paco Rabanne, and arguably Prada and Versace.
Possible, debatable, maybe
@@Varanis_Ridari tell me no harder.
Cheers D had the OG and spirit nice enough and I kinda gifted them as time went bye . Nice review 💪🤜👊
Right on
These are two of my favorite DNAs. I have Legend EDP and Legend Spirit. I've actually worn the latter quite a bit recently. It's a 60% full 30ml, so I'm trying to get it empty. I've never owned fierce because so many folks I knew had it. But of course when I got into this about a year ago, I had to get something like it. I also have Azzaro Sport, Dua Fierce Attar, and Abercrombie Authentic Night (arguably lol) in that vein.
I'm actually trying to get Invictus Aqua 2024! I've never smelled any iteration of the real deal, but I have plenty in my humble collection inspired by it. Azzaro Wanted, Abercrombie FI Together, and Dumont Nitro Red in addition to Spirit. I thought it was a little funky at first, but I came to appreciate the salty sweet.
Never heard of Dumont
@Varanis_Ridari I think they've been around for a minute, but nitro red went viral in the past 6 months that put them on radar as a middle eastern house. It's like potent watermelon invictus aqua twist basically. They are unusually clean in terms of juice for ME, but perhaps a little less complex. (fine compromise imo)
I'll look into them
I remember Fierce was a monster fragrance back in the day. I wear legend edp nowadays. Legend spirit is one of my "I'll just wear this fuck it" fragrances.
I've done that with Legend Spirit too
No mention of the Intense? Besides Spirit, it's the only one I own! 😄 Very much a sweeter and fruitier version of the OG, but very similar in the sillage. I actually kinda liked the original but went for the Intense because the testers were somehow cheaper at discounters back in the day. 🤪 Go figure. Quite surprising how much attention Spirit got me from the masses though. Honestly despised it when it first came out, but eventually grew to appreciate the extra lavender. Solid overview Derek!
I thought I mentioned it in passing. Could swear I did.
I've never dabbled with Mont Blanc but not out of aversion to their price or philosphy- they are mostly just similar to stuff I've never embraced (Aventus, Invictus, Fierce, Joop). If I was 20 years younger, I'd probably have a bunch of them. Sometimes tempted to get a small bottle of Explorer but never liked Aventus, and haven't liked any of the other Aventus inspired scents I've tried. Always amused that a company founded on such a high standard of quality in writing instruments became so proficient at " inspired by" kind of scents.
They're not all inspired by something. Individuel was copied -by- Creed, and Explorer Ultra Blue has no direct analog. I dare say Legend Red really doesn't either.
Funny that the fragrance licenses for Abercrombie and Montblanc are both now held by Inter Parfums 😅
Would you say that the original Legend is to Fierce what Missoni Parfum is to Bleu?
I'd say right on the money.
theyre all "generic" i guess but theyre also all fun to wear for me
I enjoy them all, but right now the blue one is my jam
I agree with the first part, not the latter.
Different strokes for different folks. Sometimes I like something dumb and easy on the nose, and sometimes I want to shove a old-growth forest up someone's ass with my scent of the day choice. 🤣
Your audio is way way too low... Cant hear anything on mobile..
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
