New Rockstars is continuing its Game of Thrones recap / rewatch series, analyzing all the subtle details that connect to or foreshadow future events in the series. Erik Voss points out all the things you missed the first time around. What clues does Ned Stark (Sean Bean) give off that he knows the secret about Lyanna and Rhaegar? Why did the show change Cersei from the books to give her a son with Robert? How do the direwolf Lady and the butcher's boy symbolize the show as a whole? And what surprising details about Jon and Arya emerge when rewatching this episode?

PLEASE KEEP GOING WITH THIS. DO ALL THE EPISODES
it would give them a shit load of content from here until season 8 lol
FourOne6ix agreed!!!!
They quit unfortunatly.. nerd soup is still going though
Am I the only one who loves the way Erick says ZOOM AND ENHANCE?
Ammy Vasquez yeah
I also love the way he smugly says, "In the booooks"!!!!!
Nah it cringey af. Still love him though
Ammy Vasquez my fave is “Well in the booooks”
i also love how he says 'wellll in the books...'
Seven hells!! So many seasons have passed and it feels like Ned was executed yesterday. 😔😢😭
So true. Wish he never died, but he have to. So 😭😭😭
I love these rewatch analyses - keep them coming!
Maybe sean bean acted so well that scene because...He's a good actor.
That is so rude...
I mean, in the end they were all at fault for Lady's death. I think, however, Sansa was the one who had the most to learn from it. Particularly the consequence of what happens when the pack doesn't work together.
Wow, all the shit going on in this episode concerning R+L=J. Now that we know the truth, Sean Bean acting became so much better. I'm really looking forward to future video cause the "In Hindsight" section is gold
Irri's story of the moon egg plants the link between Deanery's female fertility and her ability to hatch dragon eggs to hatch. While still a virgin she thinks of them as curiosities. When Drogo tries to impregnate her she stares at them. During her sexual awakening with Khal Drogo she begins to feel maternal toward them. The parallel continues as she falls pregnant with a human child and brings it to term, only for it to be said to have 'the wings of a bat' - Mirri Maz Dur knew the power Daenerys had to hatch the eggs and indirectly cited this as the reason the baby had to be aborted. When Rhaego should have been born, the eggs hatch. All the egg scenes are parallel to her stages of fertility. It's Targaryen women who hatch dragon eggs.
Lady's death was caused by Joffrey's lies and Cersei's vindictiveness. Also her death symbolizes the death of Sansa's dreams of honorable knights and virtuous ladies. She (Sansa) will never be that kind of southern lady as everything that happens to her after Lady's death changes her as a person. So sick of the idiotic "Sansa is evil and bad" shit from people who can't see what's really happened to her and all of the Starks (Jon included) and how it shapes their roles in the future.
I love these. Do more. I can’t get enough of NR and GOT
Ill watch all the episode reviews.
Its sad that the dog that played Lady also died just the other day. Now her watch has ended. :'(
really she died?
Sophie adopted lady in real life
?? i yhought sophie adopted it??
Dafuqqqqqqq nooooooo
What a bunch of misinformation. Lady was adopted by Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark)
For me, the most frustrating thing about knowing the truth about Jon is that it really makes Ned look bad for not telling Catelyn the truth. Why wouldn’t he trust her enough to tell her? It would have saved her the pain of thinking her husband had been unfaithful, and by extension, saved Jon the pain of having Catelyn resent him. I get that he made a promise not to tell anyone, but is there no wiggle room for someone he trusts, like his wife? Especially if it’s causing the emotional distress that it does? It just makes Ned look so ridiculously obstinate, and feels like it’s a story device to create drama between Catelyn and Jon. Was it like this in the books?
And what would Catelyn do if it came to the life of Jon over the life her own children .
She hates Jon in the books. Even more so because he's the only son who looks like Ned/a Stark. The other three have more of their mothers features. (Arya is more her father and Sansa her mother). So yeah, and she hates Ned for not giving any information and just bringing Jon back. They Lind of agree to disagree not to talk about it if they can help it really.
Catelyn's outrage at Ned's unfaithfulness had to be genuine in order to successfully sell the lie.
It is a huge price to pay but I do not think he could reveal it to Catelyn. It had to be complete as they were all in danger of Robert's wrath if it ever came to light. He loved Catelyn enough not to ask her to bear a choice he had made, keeping Aegon safe was always going to be a burden.
AWS Vids too risky and lyanna asked Ned to cover up the truth and not burden anyone else
Love this carry on
Jon Snow ( the real king) is on the road in this episode....so the title could also apply to him
Don't stop! Love these! I need to watch them all, then re-watch the series, then re-binge watch these!
Definitely Robert's fault with Lady. He just fobbed it off as he didn't want to arbitrate the dispute and found it an easy way out. Ned even challenges it as far he can, saying "Is this your command... your Grace?", about as close as he gets to saying, this is a really bad decision your Grace, short of I'll take no part of it. It's the first clear sign Robert is not the King Ned thinks he should be.
Keep these up. They are so good for putting it all together.
Keep these coming please. Going back through the episodes during the long period of downtime. These are awesome accompaniments to the episodes.
Keep up the great work!
Catelyn wanting Summer to stay after killing the intruder and Catelyn wanting Jon to stay? Now THAT's a tenuous connection if I've ever heard one. She died not changing her mind about Jon.
I don't understand how Cat and Ned wouldn't know of the kings first born child and a boy and heir nonetheless. That should have been news all over Westeros but AMAZING video btw!
I HOPE U GUYS MAKE MORE OF THIS ALL EPISODES
Nice work Mr Voss. Keep going through the episodes

This is amazing! I was a lot younger when I first watched game of thrones, and though I'm reading the books now, I missed a lot of details. I am really happy this is becoming a series ^-^

Why not talk about how Cerceis dark haired child that "died" is later referenced to be Gendry. Him talking about remembering his mother with golden hair . I know it's not verified but come on
Astay 214 I'm not the only one that thought of that possibility yay haha
So he died and came back to life?
The books never mention a dark haired baby of Cersei.
definitely keep making these videos!
Loving it guys, don't stop em!
Please keep doing these break downs!! ❤️👏🏼

I've actually started reading the book to follow along with this series, love these videos
Love these they are awesome
Nice!! Thanks a heap, y'all are prime.
This is the greatest. Please keep going!!!
A very basic question: Why couldn’t Ned have told Catelyn the truth about Jon’s parentage? I know he has to protect Jon and he’s sworn to his sister, but he would have saved his wife (and Jon) so much pain if he had just shared this truth in great confidence with Cat.
more, more , more ,more ,please keep up these great analisys. love U
These are dope keep going
Love these!
Please continue with all episodes forthwith, Ser knight!
