“Songs in the Key of Life” is the greatest musical composition of the 20th century and I will die on that hill.

Can we all agree that this version of Go Home is miles better than the In Square Circle one ? I'd die to hear a recorded studio version of it

Thanks a million! Stevie is always incredible live, but not always is the audio quality very good because bootlegs are often just audience recordings. This is a gem!!

Anybody here knows the exact date of this concert? Was wondering if Marvin Gaye was still alive at that time! Stevie didn't say anything about him throughout the "Lighting Up the Candles" which was weird to me for quite a few reasons, IF it was after Marvin Gaye's death! Didn't stevie write "Lighting Up ..." right before Marvin passed away? Any thoughts?

This concert was on Saturday April 14th 1984. Marvin Gaye’s death was on Sunday April 1, 1984.

You must remember Marvin Gaye’s father was the one who murdered him. It may have been a uncomfortable tragedy to mention at that time. Sad story..

He also performed this song at Marvin Gaye’s funeral, I think. My guess is he didn’t need to say it, and let the music do the talking.
