I'm not sure I would feel as comfortable placing my receiver at such an accessible level. I would want someone to have to work harder taking it and walking off with it than it did my installing it. Awesome job though and I didn't know about the Sika Pro either. Thanks for your video and post mix recommendation. God bless 🙌🙌🙌❤❤❤
Just got my starlink here in rural Florida. Our current satellite internet is 3mpb. Starlink increased it to 65mpb on the ground without a pole. Pole is next.
@@UpNorthNybergs Holy smokes. We just got the word today about our StarLink so was wondering one year out what you thought about it and the PostFix one year out as well. Count your lucky stars on the CenturyLink. Ours that we pay nearly $100/month for is BARELY 3 mbps! It is horrible.
P.S. Did you have to buy additional cable? We are thinking of doing the same as you, but ours would need to be a ways out from the house. Does it come in longer lengths than what I am seeing of the 75 ft?
Now that it has been a year or so since you installed the pole and buried the cable, any updates or issues with your installation? How did your pole installation fare over the Winter and the Spring? Anything you would have done differently with your pole installation?
Nice work but I'm concerned about the end of the pipe nearest your home. Have you raised the opening and/or covered it? It currenlty looks susceptible to backwash from rain or even your sprnkler system (if you have one) and a haven for vermin.
Thanks for the question…unfortunately my house was blocking too much sky visibility. I used their app to find the best visibility, this spot actually got me an “excellent” on the app and so far so good. I’ll do an update to let you see what my results have been. Thanks so much for watching!! Best, Ed
Yes, first time using and so far I am impressed. It is still a relatively short time, but so far so good. It sure is easy to use, which is a time-saver for sure. 👍🏻
Nice Kenny! I bet there is a way to attach it, they make all these adapters now I bet you could find something. The Google always helps ;-) good luck!!
The original foot mount it comes with can also attach to your roof and works well just lag bolt and silicone it. It’s held harsh Canadian winters for me :)
It is great to see people like you that get 25 MBS internet getting starlink while those of us that have 1.5 MBS DSL are stuck waiting because of people that really don't need Starlink taking up the bandwith of the satellites!!!
Sorry, I wish they could go faster. My wife and I both work from home and the 25 Mbs just wasn’t cutting it. Most of the time we were way below 25, more like 8-10.
Good question…sorry, should have mentioned that the pole fits nicely in the dish without an adapter. I have a 6 month review coming out on Saturday, if interested. Thanks for watching!
how tall is the mount when fully extended? that is the ground pole mount from the starlink website correct? when using the app i get 98% obstruction free. hope that little 2% doesn't affect my connection too much as it is the only spot i have to put it on my property.

you have a lovely daughter!! 🤗🤗
Thanks, I agree! Plus a hard worker ;-)

Awesome!! We really like ours…we are getting about 80-100Mbs on average, it was a huge improvement. Good luck with setting your pole!
Like you said.... better to over engineer it vs. trying to trouble shoot in Feb. Looks good, thanks for the vid.
Thanks Jules! Yes, February is a bit chilly up here 😁!!
Anxious to hear how well Starlink works for you up there. Looks like some great exercise!
Me too, I hope I can cancel my current provider, CenturyLink.

Very very nicely done. Hope it works well for you.
Thanks John, much appreciated!! Fingers crossed ;-)
That expanding foam product sure a lot easier than concrete. Will be interested to see how it holds up. Thanks for sharing.
Agreed David!! I’ll be sure to update periodically, I sure hope it works!! Thanks for watching!

No issues at all...our winter was very mild, though. I wouldn't have done anything differently. Ask me in 5 years ;-)
How long is the pole in total?
Nice work but I'm concerned about the end of the pipe nearest your home. Have you raised the opening and/or covered it? It currenlty looks susceptible to backwash from rain or even your sprnkler system (if you have one) and a haven for vermin.
Hi Chaz, yes, I have it completely sealed. I found a couple of rubber “lids” that are working great! Thanks for watching!!
@@UpNorthNybergs Cool-cool. Figured you did something, but was curious nonetheless. Cheers
did you have to buy the pole adapter along with the ground mount?
Hmmm…I believe the pole mount works with the provided ground mount. I just bought the pole itself. I hope that helps…
Question: Why not stay at the top of the hill versus going down it? Higher is better for satellite signal search lock. Great video, guys!

How is the Sika post fix working? Better than just using cement?
Yes, first time using and so far I am impressed. It is still a relatively short time, but so far so good. It sure is easy to use, which is a time-saver for sure. 👍🏻
Just got mine and was wondering if I can mount it to the old Satellite dish mount that I have on the roof already but who knows

Did you buy a pole that was compatible with the starlink?
Yes, it was from Starlink…it was easier than trying to modify another type of pole. However, I think any pole would work fine.
How deep of a hole did you dig for your Starlink Pole to sit in?
I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I think I dug about 3.5 feet using Sika Pole set

Hello, did you have to purchase a pole adapter or does the satellite connect right to the pole?
Good question…sorry, should have mentioned that the pole fits nicely in the dish without an adapter. I have a 6 month review coming out on Saturday, if interested. Thanks for watching!
How did you feed the cable through the pipe?
Good question! The cable was stiff enough to snake through without any issues…I taped the end up to protect it and it acted somewhat like a ball.
Does the cable feed thru the starlink pole? I would like to have seen that in the video. Thanks
Hi is the starlink pole hollow inside thanks?
Hi Shaun, yes it is…it is very sturdy though.
@@UpNorthNybergs thanks just ordered one

Hello, the pole is 88.9” high and is now around $55… 98% obstructive free should give you good coverage and zero issues. Good luck!!
@@UpNorthNybergs thanks…they charged me about $100 for it on starlink website last month yikes
@@RMSFAM09 Bummer! I do like the pole setup ;-)
