- All the goals scored by Nottingham Forest FC, winner of the 1978/79 European Cup. Forest won the trophy overcoming Liverpool, AEK Athens, Grasshopper, Köln and Malmö. That team was coached by Brian Clough. Garry Birtles was the team topscorer, with 6 goals.

I went to every home match and the final... great days...
Wow
You Reds
Every home match for me but too young to go to the final.
Didn't need to watch the Francis goal against Malmo...already running in my head. Thanks! Great video.
I'm a Leeds fan, remember Clough's time at Leeds, but this reminds me of just how great a team Forest were at this time and how magnificent Clough and Taylor were together. Even now, I can still remember most of that Forest team, excellence in so many positions. My goodness, Birtles was lethal on that run!
The first round tie against the holders and the domestic league champions Liverpool was unbelievable. The atmosphere a week before leading up to the game was great but on the night it was unbelievable. No one gave us a prayer but we played them off the City ground pitch that night. Thanks for the memories Forest.
Exactly right .... I was there!
Forest was the domestic champion while Liverpool was the holder, defending champion .
Brings back great memories, thanks
Yes thanks for the video. It gave us Evertonians lot of pleasure too.
Love Forest and seeing diving headers. Great video. 👍
Great video. Tifo podcast brought me here
Bloody brilliant ! Glad I met most of them a couple of weeks ago . Great song too .👍🇬🇧👍
Beautiful, takes me back to a wonderful football time in my childhood
Did ya see Robbo skin that greek and scream the ball at Woodcock's head? And Viv Anderson's screamer......... I got chills watching this all these years later.
Que bien forest.
Some comebacks there
I was there for the home games against AEK, Grasshoppers and Cologne, but I'd totally forgotten how muddy the pitch was (partly because Forest were in so many competitions it never got a rest!) I saw Forest score 12 and concede 5 in those three games, so I got my money's worth...
Go Forest
Mitical Forest!!
Before watching it gets a thumbs up COYR pity I can't give another after watching.
Brian Clough was a football genius. A flawed genius but a great one nonetheless.
Music spoils it wanna hear crowd not your fav music .
I actually reckon the music adds a fantastic heroic spirit.

Wait, how could be there were 2 english team made it to european cup? Didn't European cup must only for 1 european club from each country that win the league?? Liverpool doesn't win the 1st division english league before this 78-79 european cup season...
I think they won the european cup the season before which would have probably qualified them
Liverpool as holders automatically qualified.
The fact that it was just the genuine champions and the holders qualifying somewhat diminishes the current format for me. The way things are going, the top 10 in the Premier League will soon be given a place in the 'Champions' league!!!
Malmoe-Nottingham Forest was the final match? I didn't know in 1979 the Conference league was already an european cup.
Didn't play a decent team
Erm.
Liverpool - the winners season before and division 1 champs that season.
AEK who put 7 past Porto in round 1
Grasshoppers Zurich who knocked out Real Madrid in the previous round.
Koln who were 16 points ahead of Bayern Munchen in the Bundeslkga the season before, to earn their place
Malmö. Can't argue with you there 😂 but somehow they got to the final, the only Scandi team ever to do so!
For context Juventus were also knocked out by Glasgow Rangers!
None of your privileged elite nonsense back then.
The f******* music!!!!! Is it really necessary????
Back then round 32 2 legs
Round 16 2 legs .
Quarter final 2 legs
Semi 2 legs and
That's it final lol very very easy no wonder Forrest won it twice and villa 😁😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆
Fewer games doesn’t equal easier. Only the champions of each domestic league in straight knockout meant only the best of Europe could win it.
@@AH-be6bu fewer games doesn't that make it slightly easier to win the competition ? Doesn't it
@@Kill--alllll---IDF yes but to even qualify back then you had to win your own league (or be defending european champion, and they did beat them in R1 Liverpool)
Wow! You're right! Let''s delete Brazil's World Cup victories. And sorry Pele, and sorry Maradona! And Zidane. And Iniesta.. Not enough games. Can you please send your medals back to thiis guy.
