Fun facts: Each of the Black BabyMetal songs talks about a facet of society. This particular one talks about girls getting money from dad. " 4 no Uta" (song #4) talks about the superstition surrounding the number 4 similar to our number 13. Then you have "Sis Anger" which talks about unruly boys. And last but not least. "GJ" Which talks about the struggles of the common person and rewarding them for their daily grind.

'Onedari Daisakusen' is about sweet talking Dad (and Mom, but mostly Dad) into buying them things.
The lyrics really have to be interpreted through the lens of a little kid.
BTW, that's Su on the backing track. This song could even be described as "Onedari Daisakusen by Black BABYMETAL - FEAT. Su-metal". : )
After an almost five year break, they brought this song back for two of the ten 2021 Budokan concerts.
In that version, Moa played the part of an older girl instructing her little sisters how to sweet talk their parents into buying them stuff.
I thought that was a great way to revisit a song that they had grown out of.
I don't think the "Black BABYMETAL" name was ever officially explained, but those songs tend to be heavier, and Yui and Moa are often turned to the dark side in the kamishibai (picture story narrations) that introduce those songs.
Of course it's also a play on the Black Metal genre.
Onedari Daisakusen is my favorite Black Babymetal song, just ahead of GJ. This song is Babymetal riffing on Limp Bizkit, and it even has a little sample of Fred Durst in it. You should check out the solo version Moa did at 10 Babymetal Budokan.
Sis Anger is 2nd to this for me. Song 4 is last for me.

This is a very dangerous song for dads with daughters, need to make sure the daughters don't see it, a very useful warning for those dads.
It's about tricking dad into given his daughter gifts. Which is why it has vocals like '1 for the money, 2 for money, money, money, money'.
Black Babymetal is about the girls doing bad things and the intro is about how they are rapping and it's bad influence (decades ago in the metal scene doing rap in metal was considered a bad thing by some, but for others it just meant a new metal sub-genre: Nu-metal). If you listen closely the background vocals are actually recorded Su-metal. The song is also clearly a reference to Nu-metal band Limp Bizkit.
The Kami band solos and having Black Babymetal songs and Su-metal solos all existed not just for a little variety, but especially to give the girls a breather as the show continues for the audience at breakneck speed. Their is no 'MC', etc. in a Babymetal show, it's just people performing on stage 1 after an other: go go go

Grington300 300 already left a lot of info, just wanted to note that happy budo man is (probably) a play on words, since grapes in japanese is budõ, as in nippon *budo*kan, the venue for this show (diferent kanji but “same sound”). So this lore intro was probably made specifically for this show.
It also looks like a nod to the Anpanman character from the popular Japanese picture book and anime series.
In that case, the hero's head was made out of anpan (bread filled with sweet red bean paste), instead of grapes. : )

'Onedari Daisakusen' = Big Operation beg Dad For It. Black BABYMETAL with their most devastating kawaii powers turned up to 11.
They are using all their girlish charms and all the tricks they know (flattery, shoulder massage, angelic smiles, devilish whispers) to get Dad to buy them ALL the shiny and delicious things - and if he doesn't buy it all they will get the money from Mum while Dad isn't looking.
This is their version of Nu-metal .... Moa has said that when she saw Limp Bizkit performing 'My Generation' she thought it sounded familiar and that they were doing an homage to 'Onedari Daisakusen' ... and then she realised it was the other way round. There is even a sample of Fred Durst in this.
For some early concerts some fans would print bank notes in the local currency of where they were playing but with the BABYMETAL girls' faces (possibly some Kami Band notes as well) and would hand wads out to other fans as they were waiting to get in to the venue. At just the right moment of the song the bank notes would be fired and thrown into the air like confetti.
Yes you need to react to 'Song 4' (or '4 No Uta') as well - Yui and Moa have full writing credits as Black BABYMETAL for the lyrics and music on that one (not the arrangement of course). Live at Budokan Black Night should work well again.
Japanese fans were giving out Babymetal money at Makuhari in January, so that tradition continues. I was given 10,000,000 MoaYen.

The most dynamic Duo of Yui and Moa and probably my most favorite of the Black BABYMETAL songs with GJ! being a very close 2nd.
That was Su doing the whispering btw (not live vocal for Su though and she was clearly off stage resting for this show). I hear one time she was on stage doing that part too. There was really really crappy fancam of that. 🤘🦊🤘

Yui and Moa are just as important to BM as Su is. The pain from Yui leaving still resonates through out fandom even after 6 years. If Moa left now it would be the end of BM I think. You should watch the Moa solo of this too.

I have long thought if EITHER Moa or Su wish to stop - both would. I strongly suspect once Yui left they made a deal - they would continue until one of them wanted to stop, then both would.
@@paulbenwell3560 This is my view as well. Moa is just as important as Su because it's both of them or neither.
The 4 in their eyes is the Japanese equivalent to western 13 - but also Black BM have a Song 4 which Yui and Moa wrote the lyrics of.
At the concert we can see how much the crowd loves Yuimetal and Moametal. They love Black BabyMetal no less than Su-metal.
It looks like you only have Song 4, I.D.Z., Uki Uki Midnight, and the original version of Akatsuki left from the first album. Megitsune is missing from your BM playlist, although I know you reacted to it.

That BUDO is kind of a pun i guess, cuz in this Budokan-arena budo means something like martial-arts (not 100% sure, as i am german so please correct me if i'm totally wrong) but budo to my knowledge also means grapes. Hope that makes sense to you watching the little picture story...

"Song 4" should definitely be the next reaction, it's the only other Black Babymetal track on the first album
Just for context it's a bit of a silly song, the number 4 is considered unlucky in Japan (like we do for the number 13)
The lyrics are mostly word play and the whole song is really just for fun
To understand the intro a bit better. There is a pun there about grapes (Budō) and martial arts (Budō) sounding similar in japanese.
This one is good, but i like the live at "Makuhari Messe" version more 🤣✌️
Theyre more lively there, or maybe theyre just already tired here in this version.
Just a heads up: there's another Black BABYMETAL song on their first album - "Song 4 No Uta". And since Black BABYMETAL has only four songs, perhaps you should react to the other three ("GJ" and "Sis Anger" are on the second album)? Arguably Black BABYMETAL songs are the most metal of all of BABYMETAL's songs. And although this performance of the song is good, the one from "Legend 1997 Apocalypse" was much better (IMO). This is my personal Black BABYMETAL favorite but the other three are damn good, too! (all four are on my top twenty BABYMETAL songs list)

The hood being sudenly off may be because it is edited. Most of the "live show" you found on UA-cam are compilations from various presentations stitched together, either from different places with different stages, or differnt days of the same location (an attempt to prevent copyright strikes)

So I'm going to say something that MIGHT be controversial. But you mentioned that even Yui and Moa can hold their own with the crowd. I'd almost go so far as to say the fans love those 2 almost more than Su. We all love Su's singing, but Yui and Moa captured our hearts. They are the babies and fans are even more protective of them as they view Su as the older sister, and she pretty much acts as such too, taking care of them on the road. I kind of feel this way because even after all these years, Yui's leaving is STILL discussed and she is STILL missing so much by the fans. So while Babymetal would definitely NOT be Babymetal without Su, it lost a big part of its spirit and light when Yui left. Yui was such a personality, even if she didn't want to be. SHE was the biggest part of the Kawaii aspect with her baby cheeks and her Yui-bot tendencies. Moa brought the smiles and the love as well, but in a different way than Yui. Su brings the emotions and speechlessness with her raw talent. You don't get to REALLY appreciate Su as much until you learn what she's like when she ISN'T Su-Metal and she just gets to finally just be a kid. You find out that Su is goofy, silly, clumsy, and almost has mischievous as Moa... almost. Oh, and she is a chatter box. Once she gets going, she keeps going and going like the energizer bunny. I think Su is one of those people that just talks their brains out when they are nervous.
Anyhow, great reaction. I think this is my favorite of the Black Babymetal content, although they're all good. I'm curious to see how to fanbase reacts to my theory about Moa and Yui now lol
Before Yuimetal left, if you look up fan surveys it was pretty much in balance: "who is your favorite member aka best metal ?" Yuimetal 25%, Moametal 25% and Su-metal 50%.
@@autohmae Yeah Moa and Yui mean as much as Su - in different ways. You see it even more now as Moa is that link to the fans/crowd while Su does her metal queen impression (and we all know when Suzuka escapes from inside SU-METAL during a concert). But watch one of the recent Budokan shows - Moa works the crowd so so amazingly. And that smile.. killer!

Sadly I didn’t know of Babymetal before Yui left so my comment may be tainted. I’ve watched all of Yui’s performances, interviews, SG, etc…. I think she’s great and was a major factor in their early success. With that said, Moa has been a part of the group for nearly twice as long as Yui now. I really fell in love with that girl when I saw her loving nature. You know what I mean with her tears at Su’s Graduation Party and in her Graduation speech to Su. Of course all the Nendo tests are great too. As much as I love Su and frankly place her on a pedestal, Moa just breaks my heart. Anyway you asked, so my two cents. ❤️🦊
@@michelm.6033 Yui also has tears and cried during the graduation party, but she has better control of her emotions. She had to learn to contain her emotions more because of her past with her family member dying in a hospital for a while. Thankfully they pulled through and survived, but it took a huge hit on Yui at the time. With Moa, of course you'd fall for Moa more. She is the queen of love. She's also had time to grow and mature. If you watch interviews with Moa, you'll see one where she said that while Yui was in the group Moa was doing the whole thing more for fun. She didn't really take it as seriously. I think she just was there so she could be with Yui and Su. I think they were her best friends. Especially Yui. She admired and looked up to Su, like an older sister I think. So when Yui left, Moa said she realized she had to really step up her game and take the whole thing a lot more seriously. THAT is when you REALLY got to see Super Moa develop. I think it was at this point that she really started helping with the Choreography and stuff like that. She was starting to look at each avenger's dancing style and would try and emulate it to more match with them during concerts with each avenger. So it makes total sense that you'd feel that way. Yui has always been shy, and thus a little harder to really like as much because she didn't "expose" her personality as much. We all kind of fell in love with Yui through her idiosyncrasies, like her robot-like perfection, her delayed reactions, her sleepiness during interviews, her ability to look into your soul when she looks at the camera. And then when SHE smiles, it is also like Moa. The world melts. She just hides her personality more.
