@@trainsgod1042 Noice same here it was always rare that seen the r142a specially on the 2 line you see all the time not in service especially at night and the reason I like the two line because there's always different type of trains going there at night you see r142a r62/a all the time

Roblox and transit That can’t happen since both lines share cars. If they wanted the 2 and 5 lines to have separate car fleets, then why did they install combined strip maps inside the cars?

I agree the R142's on the 2 & 5 lines are getting boring and uninteresting so we need the R142a's on the 2 & 5 lines cause it would add variety on the White Plains road line.

It was so faded at the same time the other station he was at where the train was announcing, that it sounded like one entire stop 😂
So instead of Prospect Avenue, and the other stop where the next stop is “Clinton Street”, it’s one whole area now.

I think the 7700 series R142As are the best. However, starting this weekend, that tube the 4 and 5 trains use is gonna be getting repaired. This will decrease 4 Train service and suspend 5 Train service all together.

R142 and R188 are almost the same, except that R188s are also made in 6 car formation for the 7 train. 7 uses one 5 and one 6 car set

It was my impression that Lexington Avenue is getting CBTC first Before 7th Avenue and with R142/A's getting retrofitted for CBTC
Above those two factors I Believe, determine where the R262's are going
Base order (504 cars)
480 cars in this Base order are going to the 5 line This Will Displace 400 R142's to the 3 line Retiring All R62's in Livonia Yard Since the 2 and 5 share a fleet they can swap interchangeably between R142's and R262's
The 42nd Street Shuttle is Obviously Getting The Base order of 24 cars with 6-car sets Retiring All R62A's in Livonia Yard
Option order 1 (445 cars)
The 1st Option order of 445 cars are going to the 6 line to fully support CBTC on Lexington Avenue Retiring All R62A's in Westchester Yard
Option order 2 (415 cars)
The 2nd Option order of 415 cars are going to the 4 line This will Displace 420 R142/A's to the 1 line Retiring All R62A's in 240th Street Yard
The R262's are being ordered to Retire All R62/A's and to fully support CBTC on Lexington Avenue NOT to Increase capacity or to ease overcrowding
For the People that are saying the 1, 3 and 6 lines would receive R262's solely cause their currently using R62/A's

Why was the 5 train signed as to Dyre Ave when clearly it is to E180St?
It was signed that way because there was most likely no program for the 4 train to E 180 st and to reduce passenger confusion as people would be confused seeing the 4 train at 3rd ave/149 st

It is used for express train in peak directions during rush hours
Rush-hour express service in one direction. They do it on other lines with 1 express track like A, B, D, J, Z, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Why can't they change R142As to the 5 line and change the strip-map to the 5 line also rare catch
R142s are shared by the 2 and 5.
Channel Is Going Through Unification And if they’re going to change car assignments, they also have to include the 5 line in it or vice-Versa. Also they got new strip maps to display both lines so they also have to include that when doing permanent car swaps.
That would take a *lot* of time.

Manual Carchi Not happening, because if the 5 train needed to go to Flatbush Avenue on the weekends, like it was when Sandy repair work was done in the Clark Street Tunnel for 52 weekends, which required the 2 line to terminate at South Ferry, it will use its regular batch of R142s with the combined 2/5 strip maps, not the R142As with the 4 train strip maps.
It was sent to Utica Avenue so that it can go to layup and turn back around as a 4z
This was a weekend service, the 5 was scheduled to go to Utica that day. It could've had R62 or R142 and it still would've went to Utica. R142a 5 doesn't happen randomly.
