What do you think of the carbon fiber models? I am thinking of buying an accumark carbon pro custom in 300 wby, but I worried it won’t last. The guys at Weatherby recommended the backcountry, but I think it’s too light for 300 Wby.
After wanting a Weatherby for all my hunting life, I was blessed with finding a beautiful used Mark V Deluxe in .300 Wby. at a price I couldn’t pass up. It’s gorgeous, and shoots sub.- MOA all day. Trust me, realize your dreams and get one sooner than later! I’m looking at getting another in .257 or .270 Wby. ASAP!
Just got a wethermark In 300 winchester. The trigger is really nice. The Rifle FEELS like a rifle should. When it is shouldered it settles down perfectly. I Honestly dont see how or why its the "entry level" Mark 5. I handled the Accumark for a while just shouldering it and getting the 'feel" of it along with a Wood stock mark 5. I could have bought anyone i wanted but i just couldnt get past how that Weathermark felt! Bolt is slick and smooth. The bolt throw is really nice. And to boot it is simply one of the few "Fiberglass " stocks that looks cool and feels good to hold. Wont need another rifle for that "do about anything" class. Now the real issue is to pick a great scope. Thank you Weatherby, you hit a home run with this baby !
I would highly recommend getting the best Leupold you can afford. Don’t try to cut corners on optics. Or it’s rings/bases. It’s a vital component to guaranteed accuracy, and consistent longevity. You don’t put crap tires on a Maserati.
The most beautiful bolt action rifle.... Mk V - Weatherby Mk V in 270 Weatherby Mag [1983] - Remington 700 BDL in Rem 7mm Mag [1969] - Winchester 70 Featherweight [pre 64] in 30-06 [1963] non have had any problems in the field, ever.
I have 17 Weatherby rifles and shotguns, and like them all. My two Mark Vs are both customs, 300 and 257, and both bought personally from Roy. I would never part with them-
270 weatherby mag mark V owner since a freshman in high school mid 80's and I am still shooting it. I've tried most the rest. Only other weapon I will trade for is the Montana made Nemo Omen 300 win mag. Weatherby has always had it but others have been ignorant due to being biased.
I like Remington Winchester and Ruger bolt action rifles. But I will say Weatherby Makes a very nice Rifle as well and I am going to half to fix that and get a Mark V my Brother hunts with one and its a nice rifle as well. The question is what Caliber ?
Here is my only gripe about weatherby, I know a lot of your barrel twist rates are rather slow is there a reason for that? The 7mm REM and WBY for instance it's listed as a 1 and 10" twist they do struggle with heavier bullets most barrels from the competition list the barrel twist rate as 1 and 9.25 to 1 and 9.5 inch twist rates. I know Browning is making them now in 1 and 8 that's their long range model in 7mm Rem mag. I know with the WBY cartridges you use a heavy bullet with high ballistic coefficients you can optimize the rounds potential. You can probably get most rounds out past a mile. I know weatherby is known to drive standard projectiles at very high velocity. Why not use a higher barrel twist rate that's designed for high bc bullets in your wby cartridges and get the most out of them? Using berger bullets or hornady ELD's?
Eggomania86 you can use the standard 175 grain bullets such as the Hornady Interlock, Nosler Partition, and Sierra GameKing. You would probably not be able to stabilize the longer Bergers and Hornadys without switching barrels. I just shoot the 175 grain Nosler Partitions so I'm happy with mine.
If you measure the surface area of the two different lug types of the mauser magnum action and the M5 action, they are both top shelf, the lug system on the Mark 5 is a more accurate in my opinion because it centers up the bolt face more precise.
I can't hurt an animal either, but, that doesn't mean hunters are the enemy, if you actually looked at it, they care more for these animals than the folks at the slaughterhouse do, these animals died free on the land to have a chance, your store bought meat was born into a contract well before it was even conceived. Imagine the last moments of them animals stuffed into a slaughterhouse! I'd rather be ethically sourced than contractually
@@kurtminault8564 I’m not ignoring your comment but man I do not remember writing this. It’s just weird how I would write something like this. I don’t even care about guns anymore lol and yes I agree definitely, slaughterhouses are way worse than a legal hunting
Lifted_Above I don't know the 6.5 300's have short barrel life I hear but my dad has had one of these in .300 WBY for 16 years and has killed many animals,I think it's just the rifle I don't know
You don’t buy a muscle car to save gas and tires. You buy it because it hauls ass..same with Weatherby cartridges. It’s a hunting rifle not a target gun. Even if it only last 600 rounds that would be 30-40 years for most hunters .
Hands down the best gun commercial ever
There are a lot of great rifles out there, but nobody... I mean NOBODY... makes 'em like Weatherby! Roy's legacy is unequalled.
Love this commercial! Only ad on the internet I'll watch
I have two Mk v. Unbeatable. Took me my 44 years to figure it out. Get yours as soon as you can. You'll be hooked my friend.

Would love to have one. Maybe one day I can afford it.
This narration screams assassin. Love it.
Amazing!!!!! Congratulations from Spain!!!! Think good made in America!!!!

Am sold on that bolt lift - that's almost a straight pull
Damn they go me pumped up and its just Thanksgiving!
Great work!
Just ordered mine👌🏼moose, caribou, and bear beware
I do wish Weatherby would publish Thierry catalog like they used to. Pictures of hunters and game rooms and their customers rifles
Martin Stiastny yeah that would be cool but I bet those anti hunters would try to get rid of it lol
Makes me want a Weatherby bad now!!!!
Великолепный пример семейного бизнеса.
Love these old style bolt action rifles.

Old style? Seriously?
Outstanding rifle
Not really allowed guns where I'm from. But I can say I'm proud to own one in The Hunter Classic' and it hasn't let me down yet.

Thanks High Plains for not addressing the question.
Mine was a great rifle but a cheaply made extractor broke and I can't get another one after a year of trying....wish I never got the thing ....
@Clovis Point yeah the older ones are fine ...but new ones are known to brake from time to time
ohh yeahhhhhh
if a 9 locking lug is so strong why does my vanguard have the old mauser two lug in the 300 WHBY?
It's not a Mark V
So it'll cost less.
Like others have said, the two lug action is strong enough, but you don’t get the 54 degree bolt lift.
If you measure the surface area of the two different lug types of the mauser magnum action and the M5 action, they are both top shelf, the lug system on the Mark 5 is a more accurate in my opinion because it centers up the bolt face more precise.
I bought the 460 wby mag the 340 wby mag is good but the 460 gets the job done up in Wyoming hunting moose and grizzly
The dark Hillbilly ...you hunt grizzly In Wyoming?
@@americanfitness8215 He better not get caught
300 wbu owner 35yrs never had to track a deer after shot
Very nice, but I have a Remington 700 with a leupold scope👌
Couldn't agree more. Best all around!
Daniel Cutfeather Your kinda right yet wrong. Weatherby is like a Cadillac Cts V 😎
Good for fucking you.
Proud to own a piece of junk? Congrats
Мне нравится мой марк 5 аккумарк , 7реммаг👍
Omg gta 5 killer can't wait to buy this game
I love guns but love animals too 😢
You can be a hunter and love animals at the same time.
Besides your head do you have a point?

Mauser vs weatherby ?
Weatherby rifles don’t have any competitors.

Probably the shortest barrel life of any brand/caliber on the planet too.
Lifted_Above I don't know the 6.5 300's have short barrel life I hear but my dad has had one of these in .300 WBY for 16 years and has killed many animals,I think it's just the rifle I don't know
If you can't afford one, it's okay. There's a Remington 783 out there with your name on it somewhere.
You don’t buy a muscle car to save gas and tires. You buy it because it hauls ass..same with Weatherby cartridges. It’s a hunting rifle not a target gun. Even if it only last 600 rounds that would be 30-40 years for most hunters .
Horsepower comes at a price. You can greatly extend its life by not shooting successive rounds too quickly. Heat kills barrels.
Some calibers won't last more than 1000 rounds due to the extreme over-bore design. The throat erosion will happen no matter what.
