I use the end of this video to illustrate the Monty Hall problem in my statistics classes. The graphics they show where her case has a "33% chance" and a "50% chance" of having the million are totally bogus. When she selects her case, there are 4 / 26 million dollar cases, or a 15.38% chance of her randomly selecting the million. As cases are eliminated on stage, the 84.62% chance that the million is on stage stays there. So by the end, there is still a 15.38% chance that her original case has the million, but an 84.62% chance that the one on stage has. When Howie asks her if she wants to switch, she should've done that. Personally, I'd probably have taken the bank offer long before that!
What is now the difference of 530k or 1 mil. With both you can do actually everything. There is no point of more and more. The greedy of humans is awfull. You need to take what you need and gamble only with the money you can miss.
im pretty sure she would have taken the money if they didnt offer her her dream role on broadway. so its more risking 500k for a gaurentee dream that very few ever get the chance of, plus a chance at a million. She walked away with 5k but gets a role that could start her dream career.
If I was a constant on my show my decision would be based on winning the amount of money that would make me happy and I can do something great with. I would not think well the odds are in my favor to win the grand prize. I have a good chance to win the million. I could even be happy with just winning $50,000.
@@kiyowoirrno, i wouldn’t have been greedy and took the $530,000 without a safety net. it’s not worth the gamble, you’re risking 525,000 (98% of your money) to win 470,000 more. it’s literally equivalent to playing roulette to go all or nothing.
