It's a shame Dorking Wanderers don't throw a bit of money at you to make your life easier. I assume there are loads like me that have been to Dorking games and bought Dorking merchandise just off the back of the content you've produced over the years. Love the BOA content
Hey Martin, DW do support us, indeed, they're helping us get an extra pair of hands this season! We couldn't be doing this without their support. But in order for this channel to work long-term we need to be self-sufficient, and that means increased ad revenue (shorter episodes should get better stats which equals more ad money) and increased Memberships support. We're heading in the right direction!
We're still putting out 15-20 minute versions for free, and you can get the full-length or extended episodes on UA-cam Memberships. They come out earlier and with no ads. The new series of Dorking Uncovered begins on October 22.
i think we all know it doesnt take a 2 months to do an episode, the launch of dorking's new season is well under way and it's very weird as a viewer to be watching pre season when they would've played 10 games already. no other football channel has this issue, it does ruin the viewer experience a little bit
Hi there, thanks for the comment. There are several reasons we launch after the season’s started. Mostly it’s editing and production, and to some extent it’s about storytelling as we’re keen to make sure the series has overarching structure. It takes 60-70 hours to make each episode and we don’t want the show to have too many breaks this year. When you consider that Welcome to Wrexham, All or Nothing and Sunderland Til I Die all launched 12-18 months later, us going out 6-9 weeks later is pretty quick, given that it’s a team of two people on a shoestring budget. Ultimately we’re more interested in showing why a match went the way it did probably more than the scoreline itself, and hopefully our viewers enjoy that.
Hitting the nail on the head there Rich - If people want to watch highlights/see the score then just watch the highlights. BOA is much more about the behind the scenes stuff and the insights into football at a pretty high level. That's why we love it 🙌@@BunchOfAmateurs
I do enjoy the documentary style of the production but I must admit I much prefer the lower league stuff you do. The Dorking stuff is good but like the poster above it does kind of ruin it slightly when you know the score from 5 weeks ago etc. The charlwood and Holland sports episodes are fantastic. I still rewatch them regularly.
Ridiculous comment. Yeah, do the filming, get yourself back down the motorway, tell the wife you’re busy editing because you need to get it out before matey sees the scoreline. FFS. Great show all round, keep up the amazing work!
As someone who’s from Maidenhead, I’m pissed that such a shite team had the audacity to act like they’re royalty and deny you filming where ever you wanted. Trust me, Maidenhead is actually a nice town, with nice people just bloody boring. Just the club management is bollocks.
Ironically MSF Productions (our small business that makes the show) shot a promotional video for Maidenhead council two years ago. It was a lovely day of filming!
If Mr. Devonshire was able to stop you filming the Dorking Wanderers bench it clearly was something to do with him.
Best channel on UA-cam
Thanks Steve, this really helps with the motivation to make the next episode!
I had a run in with this security guy a few years ago. I also called him a jobsworth and he threatened to throw me out too!
Best football content on youtube, keep going BOA, full suport !
Thank you, we really appreciate the feedback!
