The North American T-6 Texan, known in British Commonwealth nations as the “Harvard”, is a two seat trainer aircraft that was developed in the late 1930s. It provided a hugely critical role in training pilots during World War II, with nearly 20,000 airplanes built for the American and British Commonwealth air forces.
See what it's like flying in the iconic North American Harvard in 2022!

My dad was a flight instructor during WWll flying Harvards out of Dunnville ON. He passed away 12 years ago but not before he was able to go up one last time in a Harvard. It thrilled him to no end!
My grandfather was a flight instructor during WW2, he flew Harvards. Thank you for keeping this amazing piece of Canadian aviation history alive!
My dad trained at Weyburn and flew in
Congratulations for getting to fly on this iconic aircraft. This aircraft was built under license by Can-Car in Fort William Ontario (now Thunder Bay)
Been to Saskatoon a few times when I lived in Regina. Unfortunately I never had the chance to go flying in those wonderful birds. Looking forward to Wetaskiwin & flying in a Biplane whenever they open it up to public again.
It certainly is a great privilege to fly in a Harvard. Glad you got the chance. My wife got me a ride in one at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton. That Wasp engine seemed to have the sweetest growl when climbing. And I got to experience some real G-forces when he cranked it around in a spiral with the wing tips vertical.
Thank you Alex for another amazing video. Glad to see the red ensign flying on one of our planes again.
Thank you for taking us on your amazing adventure.
Very cool!
Thanks for taking us along for the ride Alex. As a kid I loved seeing Bud Granley fly his Golden Hawks painted Harvard at air shows in Edmonton
I remember flying on those Canadian Pacific / Canadienne F28s - visited Saskatoon on business in 2019 and was surprised to see them all there.
Such a memorable flight; thanks for sharing your experience
Awesome Alex! What a great video.
Ah yes! This brings back memories. I flew as a passenger on one if these back in 1991 at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario. I was also in the back seat. I even had the opportunity to take over the controls. I have never flown any aircraft before, but the pilot was super impressed on how well I handled it. His jaw dropped when I said I used to use flight simulators on my pc.
I am SOOO envious!!
WOW !!!
In two week time I’m heading down to musically perform in the hanger with all the war vintage planes in Hamilton Ontario at the Hamilton heritage war plane museum at the Hamilton international Airport.doing a charity concert for MAF (mission aviation fellowship) that delivers medical and food supplies to third world countries in Africa. Done this concert twice and it is awesome seeing and being in some of the planes if allowed with attendees. Looking forward to seeing the museum and the planes also
My house had a very brief, distance cameo in this video. Great stuff Alex! This makes me want to get more involved in the Saskatoon Aviation Scene. I may just have to take an in-depth look.
Very impressive ! Thank you for an enjoyable post.
Right on 👍
