I cannot imagine why Arenanet would not make you a partner because your videos are always easy to understand, well thought out and most of all not filled with a bunch of unnecessary rubbish. You have a great attitude and I appreciate it. Thanks for doing what you do.
@@CaffeinatedDadIs your guild Legendary? Are you taking new members? Im looking for a guild. I've been away but want to start again in a few weeks for Christmas.
I would strongly recommend doing the story - it gives you equipment at regular intervals, eases you into things, gives you at least a few black lion keys, Living World Season 1 (or was it 2?) gives you (once per account) a full set of 20-slot bags, and Living World Season 3 gives you big piles of the resources/currencies you need to buy ascended items that are otherwise tricky to get as a newer player (for example, you can get an ascended underwater helm). Also, biggest tip if you're thinking about PVPing: The game forces you to grind unranked matches for a considerable time before you're allowed to do ranked. Unranked is an utterly awful mess, full of highly suspicious behaviour (which is to say, possible cheating), and meta-builds absolutely steamrolling everyone in heavily unbalanced matches. Words cannot express how idiotic it was for the developers to not just put people straight into ranked from the start... but if you like the idea of PVP, just grit your teeth and get your unranked grinding done. Ranked is still a salty, often toxic mess, but the matches are on the whole much better. As for World v World... as a veteran of WoW, Eve Online and Planetside 2, I can definitely say that World v World is a thing that exists. Having played the game for a year however, I have no idea how it works, I have no idea how to get started, and it seems insanely over-complicated and heavily reliant on you being online at the right time. Why no MMO ever learned from the comparatively simple map layout and endless carnage of the original Alterac Valley I don't know.
Oh for sure! I think many people have mentioned how the maps function and how great the core tyria is for sure but it never hurts to bring it to light again
@@CaffeinatedDad Another tip for young elementalists out there: despite what *some* players say, elementalists are really OP in pve with no downtime. The trick is to spawn Earth Elementals! I use the PvP Necromancer npc as my benchmark. The challenge is to beat him on a single (usually non-elite) spec without finishing him off (just stand and fight till the bitter end). Elementalists can do this hands down by speccing into Water (for improved Soothing Mist that does heal the elementals), and the Necro dude just can't kill them faster than you spawn them. I can give here more Necro-challenge results if anyone is interested.
Race.. can make a difference for jumping puzzles etc if you have a large character, especially Char simply as they can "block the view". It's minor though. It can be cheaper to actually buy bag slots using gems brought for gold than attempting to increase bag size to max past 20.
My tip for new players: buy the "everything" pack on sale for 50 doll hairs right now. Tip#2: everything in the gem store rotates meaning if it goes away it will come back and it will go on sale (unless it is a new item). Buy the "all expansions and living world" pack and play the game, earn gold, convert to gems, then buy QoL when it comes on sale. Ez #NeverGettingANetPartner 😂

One thing about the races, they can and do have some rather different changes to the story and how ppl interact with you specifically though certain expansion, prime example, sylvari in heart of thorns, asura with taimi and phlunk, human via ebonhold etc. So its worth having some alts on other races just to experience it.

from the unidentified gear you only want to open/identify the yellow ones really, sell the blue and green ones on TP, which gives more income, then what you would get from opening and salvaging. also you might consider using "Mystic Salvage Kit" or "Silver-Fed Salvage-o-Matic" for the yellow ones.
*Another tip for new players:* _Obsidian Sanctum is leveled locked until you have one of your characters with the proper level, so the next best thing you can do is use the PvP Lobby._ _It's also useful for leveling up because there is a Gear NPC there if you need level appropriate gear in Mighty/Strong/Berserker stats._

Good evening kind sir! Love the content, i've played GW2 when it released, had fun leveling but lost interest after reaching lvl80 / the end of the main story. Pushed a little farther during the first quarantine (map 100%) but felt lost afterward. I might give it another shot and who knows maybe have fun again, all thanks to you 😁
If you feel like you need direction, then this might not be the game for you. It's very open ended after completing the story (expansions included). Like maybe you hunt for mastery completion, or you go do bosses, or you find a map you didn't 100% yet, or you decide you want to play another class. And that's only pve basic things! There's not really a wrong way to play endgame, so as long as you're having fun, you're doing it right.
Havent played gw2 in years, just got back couldnt really play on my lvl 77 warrior since i forget allot. So i will start over. Any tips ? I am going to play a ranger and i dont mind spending abit of money on the game. Sooo all tips are welcome
Every time I see a streamer/UA-camr with the bag display as one giant grid they ALWAYS have a mess. My tip would be buying at least 1 invisible and crafting 18 slot bags, keep the view as individual 8 slots per row and make a habit of dismantling, depositing, then collapsing every hour or two while playing. You do this and you won't need to buy a ton of (or any) extra bag slots. For dismantling you can put your stacks of blue green and yellow gear bags in the invis bag or a shared slot, alt+drag about 20 at a time and right click your salvage kit to only salvage gear and not the bags of gear.
men me too, i just got like 20 hours into it, and have seen a few videos but not to much since I think it will become to overwelming that way...I'm playing along, trying stuff and leveling while doing the main story, for crafting I look into guides, and for moneymaking too but since I'm enjoying it a lot I just keep going. There is a lot of stuff I don't even know, like the billion different currencies😂 Don't even know how to join a guild since I really want a solo experience to chill and enjoy but would also like to try some other content. Well this comment didn't help at all but well jajaja atleast you can see you're not the only one.
it might be worth just playing the game, do story and explore so that you get used to the game and understand the basics, as most guide or tips vids are gonna assume some basic understanding. otherwise I recommend just searching for gw2 new player guide on yt, im sure there's a lot with variety of tips! but honestly don't stress about anything, the best part of gw2 is that with horizontal progression, you won't ever be insanely behind! I came back to gw2 after a 6 year hiatus and was still able to jump straight into the new content immediately, its so good XD have fun!
@@icetubelk12 Just relax and explore. Do story missions as you feel like it. Don't worry about crafting and gear. You'll get all the gear you need for your level as you go. You don't even have to buy weapons and armor from the vendors, since the stuff you get just wandering and fighting mobs is usually better than what you can buy. When you get to level 80 and want the "best" gear, that's when you can concern yourself with crafting and such - And by then you should have a fair understanding of how things work. I've been playing for 3 years+ (on/off playing time) and I definitely agree on Obsidian Sanctum and Storage Mules.
Going in and out on Obsidian for quick bank and trade was such big brainer. As for the Sotrage Mules, I have 5 character slots atm, 1 slot for Main and 4 slots for Storage Mules. Slot 1 (Main) - Had to settle 1 character to play (Necromancer- Scourge) atm and i still enjoyed up to this moment, i can switch to Reaper, Harbinger anytime depends on my mood hehe. Slot 2 (Mule 1) - Responsible for MAXING all Crafting Disciplines and crafting all the things i need like for mostly achievements purposes and legendary gears (crafted 1 so far, Xiuquatl (Scepter)) cute lil serpent hehe Slot 3 (Mule 2) - More storage from Mule 1 Slot 4 (Mule 3) - Storage for miscellaneous materials such as festival events and the not so everyday used items Slot 5 (Mule 4) - Storage for gear related and boosters I'm trying not to spend too much gems but my priority is convenience first before vanities. Getting free gems via achievements was so good of a system i ended up buying Bag Slot Expansion, Living Worlds Season, and more Bag Slot Expansion. Last year my friend gifted me an Unli Salvage Kit (Copper-Salvage-O-matic) and I'm very thankful of it because i can proceed to my next list of items i want to buy like Unli Gathering Tools, Home Nodes and other convenient gizmos then i can i buy skins in the future or maybe some account upgrades hehe. Even having storage mules is enough especially CRAFTING MATERIALS (250max), just waiting for the discount for the increase crafting materials slot and banking slots... I can wait because im not in hurry and just take time playing the game because GW2 respects time.
Thus us very well said! I've recently used my thief as my crafting mule. Maxing things as I craft more legendaries but I like how you have a main and then likrn4 tag ins lol
