Looks like you guys have only seen the substandard tiktok videos made in India. Tiktok is actually a big thing and great platform for great content in the US and other countries.
Karikku got sponsors and that's why they got such nice production value nowadays. Ofcourse they have to nicely integrate Ad for their sponsors in the story 😄

But after subtitles so many others can watch it too, although so many people miss some references etc because its in another language

@@harrisonwells2908 Yep I get it, much is lost in translation, but the since the setting is incredibly familiar, I do think many Indians who do not know the language would still understand a lot of nuances. But again some are completely new and might fall flat in English.

Couple of things for non-Malayali audiences. A "purdah" in Kerala is a hijab or niqab. The thief wants it to disguise himself. "Kalakkachi" and later "Kidukkachi" are just slang terms for great stuff.

One thing you guys missed is when the whole mess about Kalakkachi is going on one of the brothers says he's gonna whip something up. Which then becomes a new special item at the end called "Kidukkachi" which gets immensely popular, furthur boosting the customers
