    I have a purple FC12! I love it! I guess they carefully select the tint of the LED because it's pure white in all mode levels. My other SFT40 lights are grayish - green in the low modes becoming white only in the higher modes.

    I've had the purple one for a few weeks now. It's a beautiful looking light. I bought it to resell so I haven't taken it outside and played with it. Maybe now I'll decide to keep it. I have so many lights I'm not sure what I'd do with it though lol. Thanks for the review.

    Hi, the FC12 I have somewhat different UI than yours. It doesn’t have ramping, only step power. It does have 2 program. General program and tactical program. In general program, side switch cycle low>mid>high with every click. Double click for turbo. Triple click for strobe, double click to cycle strobe>sos>beacon. Single click to return to last power mode.
    In tactical program, tailswitch straight to turbo. Sideswitch to cycle mid>turbo only. Double click to cycle strobe>sos>beacon. Half press and click tailswitch activates strobe.
    Moonlight mode click sideswitch and tailswitch in both program.
    Surprised there are 2 versions available, but i do appreciate that it can go to turbo with a single click.

      That's the problem with Wurkkos it's inconsistent just like my TS11's power button doesn't light up no matter what I do.

      Hold the button switch then press the tail switch. And you will get moonlight mode.

    It is my new light for night shifts. It is so good it replaces my Olight M2R Pro.

      The downside to the m2r pro is it's only a thrower with no food at all. It's good for distance but not close range

    I am waiting mine in the mail sooner or later. Bought it to replace my kr1 w2 as an edc throwy torch that also has better flood capabilities. I believe it almost has the same size center hotspot as the kr1 w2 from the looks of it. It may even have almost the same throwing capabilities. Can't wait to try it out. If you own both the kr1 w2 and this fc12 i would love to see a quick beam comparison video if it's possible to compare throwing capabilities. Thanks!

    Looks good. I'm having hard decision between this and the sofirn sc31. Both 2000LM and both are compact EDC. Any thoughts?

      SC31 comes without a tailswitch while the FC12 features a nice one. I use the FC12 professional and need a tailswitch. The SC31 is more compact.

      @@bernardtan1 not much. The SC31T has smooth ramping as an option, the new FC12v2 has a tactical mode group with allows for turbo when turning the light on - that is really useful! Also the FC12 looks cooler and has a better feel in hand for sure ;-)

    It would have been a great light if it came with an 18350 tube, and also did away with the completely frustrating tailswitch. I bought this light and love the beam color and finish but making it 'tactical' and needing to fumble with 2 switches to turn it on just ruined it.

    • @ChalliceofLight
      @ChalliceofLight  3 роки тому +5

      Oh I disagree. Knowing you always reach for the back to turn on vs modes adjustment at front is the better option. PLus, side switches accidentally activate too much.

    • @asm200sx
      @asm200sx 3 роки тому +1

      @@ChalliceofLight I agree, rear switch to turn on, side switch to change modes. Long pressing a side switch only light for modes is just infuriating and often leads to mistakes. I guess it depends on familiarity and how many lights you own with different switches.

    It sounds like heat issues are starting to emerge as a factor regarding these new compact throwers . The way i see it is that the whole reason to go for a thrower is to get the good beam distance. Once a compact thrower heats up and steps down , it greatly reduces the throw of the torch which once again defeats the purpose of the compact thrower. And with some of them this ovetheat-step-down period can be just a few minutes. Once the thrower stepsdown, it has probably less functionality than a regular torch because the thrower generally has a much tighter hotspot and doesn't light up a wide area(granted the torch in this vid may be an exception). For example if there was a security guard who had an alert at a large industrial or warehouse complex and had to do a perimeter/external check or something and it could take 10-15 minutes to do a proper check , but then his torch steps down after just 2 minutes and then he's battling with the balance between heat and beam distance for the rest of the check, it would get frustrating i'm sure. It would be good to see a compact thrower with innovative cooling tech sometime in the future .

    • @ChalliceofLight
      @ChalliceofLight  3 роки тому +2

      This is why I prefer no step-downs...but then you lose brightness. I'd say it's a trade. A full patrol where the light must stay on would warrant a larger, more heat-stable light. The idea of a tactical pocket thrower is quick distance access without cumbersome carry.

      Check out the convoy c8+ with the osram nm1 led. It will smoke both of these lights and dont get hot or step down for a while. Less than $30 with an 18650. Head is slightly larger but the tradeoff is well worth it!!
