I know we had this conversation on Instagram. I’m just really let down by the color. I understand prototypes usually look better. Just expected more from a Limited Edition figure. It’s not as egregious as the difference between the pnso prototype and what we got. However your pic does make it look better than some of the other in hand pics I’ve seen. I’ll see what I officially think of it when mine arrives shortly.

What’s ironic is that the tail on this figure almost perfectly matches the latest reconstruction of this animal-the discovery would idealize the tail of Spinosaurus being very much like a newt or salamander, (an “axolotl” tail) primarily being utilized for aquatic propulsion. At first I thought it was a “unique” design choice, (which at the time it almost obviously was) but now that it actually makes sense, I have accepted it fully.(Along with the fact that it looks pretty badass.)
That is beyond beautiful, I really love it and it looks so realistic.
They should make a limited edition scientifically accurate T-Rex figure.
But not limited edition,the figure would be more expensive and just be a normal figure. But that's a really good idea!
@Origami Master Yoda yes spinosaurus was actually bipedal not quad smh, scientists concluded that its arms would crush under its weight if it was quad smh
@@TasimanaOG A tail similar in shape to the crocodile tale and resembling a large bony paddle was found (hinting at an aquatic or mostly aquatic life) along with hind limbs (very short in comparison to other theropods).

Wow this model is beyond amazing! Here’s my opinion on all the 2019 spinosaurus so far:
Safari 2019 spino < schleich 2019 spino
@Transcendent Cthulhu of R'lyeh no its legs are way too short. Even the short legged spino theory didn't have legs that short. Also, the feet are too small
@Transcendent Cthulhu of R'lyeh the papo one is the best, because it's much more bulkier and robust, it was more like a hippo or a whale than a skinny semi aquatic hunter.
The head and overall pose is off

@@dandino8100 so? This figure isn't even being portrayed as quadrupedal, if it were, it would have its knuckles flat on the ground. It's arms are just used to balance the figure.

I don t think that Papo wants to represent accurate extinct life, just give us a fantastic and detailed design of the creature.

I just got my Christmas haul I got the safari malwaisaurus prestosuchus quetzal and the scheilch kentrosaurus. Now I have something to add to the haul. Great review

I received this beauty today Andy and I'm absolutely in love with this figure! Easily one of my most favorite figures from Papo.
I wish you would've put the Papo Spino side-by-side with the PNSO Spino, but still a great review. I'm sold!

Excellent video, papo did thier research on this one, curousely all boxes for this guy that I've seen on video reviews all have limited edition 1, which causes be to think we may get more of these limited edition scientifically accurate models ,maybe a Feathered tyrannosaurus? Or an accurate scaly one to replace thier inacurrate jp clone?

I put myself on the reserve list with Everything Dinosaur for this one but then I saw the Rebor version soon to be released. This doesn't even come close so i'm waiting for Rebor's version.

It sure is nice to see accurate musculature on a beautiful but still intimidating Spinosaurus. It would have been nicer if it was more so in a bipedal posture, but I guess it's still pretty good.
Pretty sure it is in a bipedal posture. Its arms are just used for balance.
@@crampus8205 I guess I can somewhat see it, but it's pretty much still heavily based off of the 2014 reconstruction. If it wasn't, the legs would have been enlarged and elongated a bit more. I mean look at Rebor's GnG Spino, it still uses its arms for balance, but the legs are proportionally correct which gives off that switching between quadrupedal and bipedal stance look.

Such a damn awesome sculpt of the Spinosaurus aegypticus!
But that seam at the butt - where the cloaca should be - kinda ruins it for me as a decorative object, same with those three bunched up teeth...
They should have a process during manufacuring there they sort of fuse the parts together and make that seam invisible with putty or so and painting it over.
I would definitely pay extra for that.

I am definitely buying this however the new Grab N Go Spinosaurus by Rebor Studios will absolutely CRUSH the Papo figure. Also, the price point will be basically the same and they are offering 4 colour schemes.
Looks a lot better than the happy hens promo image who I ordered from. Hopefully mine looks this nice when it arrives.

Yeah, for a section that would get first attention most of the time, that joined-teeth is quite the pain for my eyes, and that tail seam...makes it looks like a recast sadly
that's right, but it's something you can fix yourself pretty easily imo. Separate them a bit better, maybe give them a more yellowish and thus used color, and it'd be fine I guess. Sure, that is the job of the manufacturer, but I actually like fixing poorly painted areas on my figures. Gives them a more personal feel and touch

@@silash.5535 True but as a limited edition for a collector modifications will decrease the potential value besides the prices Papo charge it should come with a professional finish for a limited edition that doesn't require addressing.

In my opinion, I love this Papo Spinosaurus yet, but I think his head and front legs are not well sculpted. Apart from this, it is a spectacular spinosaurus with a pose and colors that are sublime. 🏆🥇
Like others have said, it is a bit unfortunate the paint application has degraded in some manner since the prototype (although I was expecting that to some extant, but minor, such as like the difference between the (original) final Papo Allosaurus and the prototype), perhaps even more so considering the price of this thing, and the limited edition nature of it. However the figure you received does look much more appealing then what I was able to gather from some of the product images I saw on Happy Hen Toys, for instance. Additionally the obvious seam in the tail is a bit distracting and disappointing, but I suppose it is one I am all too familiar and used to seeing in regard's to Papo's products, but nonetheless still disappointing considering the price of this figure. In any case I'm still quite eager to get this, as well one of the future REBOR Grab N Go Spinosaurus models.

issue i have with this is the paint on the teeth, they screwed it up (rush job) for a limited edition they could of taken more care with the teeth or do what rebor did with there teeth
It does have english on the back you wally lol, it looks like several languages for each feature.

The fish tail is bizarre, but I like the sculpt overall. Too bad they downgraded the paint so much. It looks messy.
