  • In 2018, our clinical team recently conducted one of the first ever civilian test-fittings of the Mobius Bionics LUKE arm. A big thank you to Steve Brown, our patient and fearless test pilot! He was amazed by the LUKE’s intuitive motion-control interface and its unique ability to reach out and grasp things above the shoulder (something that's impossible with existing high-level prosthetic arms). In Steve’s opinion, this prosthesis will be “life changing” for the future of those with upper limb loss.

    Cool! Reminds me a bit of the Berserker from Quake 2 with the slightly offset shoulder.
    By the way, are there any plans to address motion smoothening and acceleration in software? Real limbs don't instantly ramp up to a constant speed, move at that constant speed and then do a hard stop. I don't know if your nerve sensors can pick up just on/off states or different degrees of activation, but I think looking a bit into this, especially since it's mainly a software issue rather than a motor issue could amaze your customers and drive product satisfaction through the roof. I do also have a few ideas on how the mechanism could be redesigned to allow for both quick and fast movement and slow high precision high-torque movement, but I guess that all depends on how good your sensors are.
    Wonderful stuff though, keep it up!

      Hi there. This arm does not require TMR surgery to use. If you are interested in learning about what prosthetic device would work best for you, please contact us at patientcare at armdynamics.com and we can set up a video consultation. Thanks!

    like with making androids theres still a long was to go to achive fluid life like motion and truly replace the limb, i dont see the tech having reached its potential until it surpasses human limbs, and is aforable enough for the poor... but wer slowly making progress, and im happy for that... i dont know that ill live long enough to see the tech reach great hights i know it can... and im virtualy cirtain my father who could most use the tech wont live to see it become resonably priced so he can aford it... but at least some future generations will benifit from the work we do today as a people... i say we but i mean people who know shit about tech ^^;
