Jim thanks man. I've been into this type of stuff my whole life. I took an approximately 10 year break larping but suddenly had an itch for precision AR stuff and you have truly inspired me. So much that I signed up for a bruiser precision class in September.
You can use a wax crayon to fill in the etchings on the ranger card, it makes it far easier to see the symbols and numbers against some backgrounds. I used red.
Paint can openers are also good to remove stuck cases quickly. Always keep one tied to whatever kit is mounted on my chest. Obviously if it’s super crazy stuck the cleaning rod is a good back up but paint can opener can be quicker if speed is imperative.
That and using the spare shoulder strap to protect the radio wires were my main 2 takeaways, love finding the nuggets. Also never realized my spuds could fit 3 mags..
Spiritus just charged x10 the amount for a big army FLIC, lol. It’s absolutely HILARIOUS that people are paying the price for a piece of conventional troop gear that’s been around for decades now
im getting a similar rig, I really dig the velcro to hang danglers, you can really plus up on kit you might need. Split rigs work well for tropical environments and over plate carriers. great vid man.
I want to try danglers of some sort, possibly the Onward simp pouch. I think something like a small collapsible dump pouch would be useful, perhaps for picking up brass or just throwing a disposable water bottle in. The BFG one but dangler style would be great
@@jimmybrodriguez their two double mag pouch and one double mag pouch with one medium utility pouch. It works awesome but doesn’t leave room for water etc two spuds and I can hold the same amount of mags but free up a buttload of Molle
I think it’s note worthy when more “sensible” UA-cam channels like yours are mentioning “grid down”/ “SHTF” scenarios as possible training objectives. It helps some of us realize that we are not crazy and that others see the same developments that could possibly lead to something in the future.
I know they are apparently considered lame and uncool, but have you considered a USGI canteen? It'll still be 32oz, fit tighter to your body, taking up the same amount of molle space, and let you bring a cup for making coffee/tea/soup/sports mix. You can even get them in nalgene, though it won't have the spiritus logo on it if that's the most important thing. You seem to have brought everything and the kitchen sink, might be great for a specific course- but perhaps adapting more general purpose gear, to make it work well enough, would serve you better in the long run. Those binos are gucci for sure, but there's lots of good reasons to use something else. A passive monocular with ranging reticles will be slower, but doesn't need batteries, will not reveal your location to NODs and other sensors, and will not be so big that you'll be forced to build an entire new rig to accomodate them. That "breaching tool" is begging to fall out, which wouldn't be a big loss- when are you going to be "breaching" anything in that recce loadout? Is it realistically capable of doing anything but pulling nails? As bloated as I think this loadout is, everything in it does serve a clear mission - except for that.
34A is my go-to chest rig. Endless combos to really dial in a perfect setup for you as an individual. Get out and use your gear!! Ive changed mine up many times!
@@jimmybrodriguez it’s setup with left side to right with a 1qt canteen with boiling cup. From there it’s the fist Tq then single/double rifle mag pouch Right side is two/double rifle mags pouches. Then large Gp pouch. On the bottom of left side where the Velcro is I have two nylon loops that hold a poncho/jacket etc.on the back there is 30ft of tubular nylon! That’s it so far. Looking to get a dangler pouch for right side Velcro for a actual ifak.
Hey what kind of competition do you do? It’s a USPA anything like that why do you need calm? Why do you need all the stuff? I’m only asking new to this stuff after 21 years in military in 18 years in federal law-enforcement it’s interesting to find out I may join up thank you.
What sort of zipper insert did you use to convert the rear of the JSTA into an admin pouch? I know its an AXL, but cant seem to find the right fit on their site.
I was roing last saturday and a guy close his bolt on a chamber flag and it fully snapped off and left a part in the berral. Thank god i had my work truck with me we had to grab a small zip tie to push the broken part out. I need to get a good cleaning rod set up. Would you have a link for your cleaning rod set up ?
Easier to scan with and easier to spot with. The size of and having two hand on it (there’s a joke there somewhere) make it more stable than holding a monocular when ranging. Additionally, using both eyes gives a clearer picture and for some more perceived magnification.
How would you compare this to the blue force gear ten speed sf chest rig? I have been on the fence between the two for quite a while and recently leaning towards the BFG. Thanks!
I love when tubers talk their way (sell) through these items. Regardless, I run the Spiritus split and the Split Stout Scout from Tracer Tactical and both are viable options if you find typical chest rigs uncomfortable during your “mission”
I had to wait for some of the pouches to come in stock for the color I wanted. I signed up for the email notification and notice that stuff quietly comes in stock weekly. Hopefully that helps
SKD has the chest rig and and harness in stock(coyote) as of a half hour ago when I placed my order(last day of USCG sale 15% off) and Spiritus had the strap
You said it: your needs - your way of doing you...From where I'm standing, looks to be very bulky/cumbersome - thus not ideal, but, again, different needs-different uses,so maybe a choice for your needs and others, but ,if those pouches are not removable...hard pass for my needs
@@jimmybrodriguez You make good points. When I was in the service, I found it easier and convenient to carry a bladder system when on patrol. But like you always say, use what best works for you.

This has been my favorite piece of kit the last 4 months. Plan on running it while hunting as well.
Yeah I think this setup makes a lot of sense for hunters. Let me know how it works out if you do go hunting in it.
You can use a wax crayon to fill in the etchings on the ranger card, it makes it far easier to see the symbols and numbers against some backgrounds. I used red.
I’ll try that
Grab yourself a HX Hybrid harness from Lunar Concepts. It pairs incredibly well with the 34A. Game changing combination.
Yeah I’m gonna try to grab that and one their pouches to throw some extra mags in
Nice editing with you demonstrating how you get to each item!👍
🙌🏻thanks! Trying to show some better angles

which style of paint can opener do you suggest?
@@maxfalconi6995just one long enough to reach all the way inside your chamber and magwell
I have one or two of those laying around, I’ll give it a try!
Run this at work
One of those paint can pry tools works great as a stuck cartridge extractor.
Been thinking of grabbing one of these to compare to my thing2/mk5 set up. Really dig it's versatility
The thing 2 just never fit me well. Probably because of my size but I know some people swear by it. Just depends on what works best for you.
I’ve been waiting for this for a while now.
I’ve wanted to release it for a while, I’m as pretty pumped about it
The AXL advanced zipper thing for the JSTA is ingenious.
That and using the spare shoulder strap to protect the radio wires were my main 2 takeaways, love finding the nuggets. Also never realized my spuds could fit 3 mags..
Just got my Lead Devil belt per your recommendation, good stuff. Happy with it compared to the ferro and axl I tried before it.
Lead devil is the best for range/duty belts

Seriously considering getting this for my .308 bolt action setup.
I’ll be honest with the bro, I’m training for SHTF. Nice rig.
That’s fair, I think a lot of us are to one degree or another
Heck yeah man, we just gotta remember we're all in this together, avoid civil war, gotta be something after
Awesome video. Love it

Very good job putting it all togther.

I run a 34a with some london bridge pouches but will switch that up for a couple spud pouches and some GP pouches. It's been great.

Love my 34A rig
Suprised I haven’t seen more people using them
The Javlin Concepts JCR and the Defense Mechanism LCP are two of my favorite chest rigs because you can use cummerbunds with them.
Same reason I love the brave castle!

usgi canteens are fire. 4 bucks a piece and hard to break
Instead of a cleaning rod we used to use rapid rod, I’d check it out.
I found that while looking up the FDC rod. $114 Lol.
Have you ever tried the sig BDX scopes that pair with the rangefinder binos to display your holds?
