I greatly respect Wadjet Eye for keeping it going without changing the formula much. Also, they are constantly providing updates for Steam Deck compatibility. It would be relatively hard to play a point and click on the couch with an SO; because of the Steam Deck support, I'm sure we'll do it soon.
This video was very special for me, I'm launching my point and click game "Au Revoir" on Steam this month, throughout the development we were a little afraid because of the genre, and it's always good to see that the community for this type of game is still alive and looking forward to new titles, looking forward to our launch and congratulations on the great video!! 😁
Rare to see a UA-camr with this level of quality with this amount of Subcribers. Hope to see you create more videos since its clear you have a real talent for this stuff.
The paradox about Mist is that nowadays it's always polygon horror, but when it was released it was state of the art, technical demo. It pushed the sales of CR-ROM players because of its art style, which make PC games appear "grown up". Was a huge point&click player in the days, but moon logic and adult life sent me away. I enjoyed The Last Door though, being a lovecraft fan and its puzzles being less loony. Love your paper puppet, editing, and voice.
Hell yeah they do. Point n Click games was one of my favorite genres back in the flash days, and it's how I got into Myst, the Neverhood and a few others, a few years later. Special mention goes to the Submachine series, the Riddle School series (barring the actions of the creator), the games from ZeeBarf like the Visitor and the Journeys of Reemus, many of the games from Pastel Games, and several other Room Escape games and other weird experiments. Oh my God, the Last Door too! I was into that series too! Samorost too, one of my favorites, and I've always wanted to play Botanicula and Machinarium... I do enjoy realMyst a lot tho, but I also enjoyed the mobile port of Riven, even if I had to look up the Animal Sound puzzle. Heck, I got the Fire Marble one all by myself.
Dangit, you've convinced me. Now I have to go play a point-and-click adventure game. I might even enjoy myself too, with my luck. I hate you and your dumb well-written, thoughtful, and well-made video. Take my like and keep it, for all I care.
point & click will forever be associated with flash games in my heart, i played soooooooo many, it just scratched an itch i still can't replicate with any other type of game
I like adventuring in point and click games however the puzzles turn me off often, I guess it's quite hard to balance difficulty in these types of games. Another GREAT title is Primordia from Wormwood studio's, it has a very unique style and a great (admittedly mind bending) story!
Someone forwarded me a link to this video and I just wanted to write and say thank you for the shout out! :D It's really appreciated. I've been going through your channel's videos and love your work. Consider me subscribed.
I FRIKING HATE POINT AND CLICK GAMES edit: actually, I did like that garfield one, and the one with the purple duck edit 2: oh yea also that scooby doo one, with that flying ship last edit: oh yeah, moviestarplanet was goated

Old adventure games are like my father, challenging and doesn't hold my hand at all.
3:03 "Most of the time it's literally impossible to die in these games"
*laughs in Sierra adventure games*

Really fun watch, hope to see you grow, this was a fun corner of youtube to stumble upon.
a moment of silence for all those "Escape The ________" flash games. A true staple of my point and click childhood 🙏🕊
You can install a local flash player/browser and play all of the old games if you feel like it

The first game in this genre was called "Adventure". This is the reason of the name.
