"'Look Around You" tells the story of 4 mothers showing their young the importance of appreciating your environment. This piece was originally part of "Imagine Our Future", a mixed-multimedia commissioned song cycle premiered in 2022, where I took ideas from over 100 young students and wove them into a 9-piece set of music based on different themes gathered from those ideas. This song was the theme of "Environment," where a young girl, a rock, a fish, and a bird are all personified - this is about acknowledging all of the little things around us, and how they make us who we are." - Taylor Eigsti

Hey Taylor!! Just listened to this after seeing your IG post. It made me think of “Magnolia” (One of my favorites) because of Becca’s voice.
