A fantastic and varied ride in the Peak District, taking in big panoramic views, technical rocky sections, forests and a high-level stone causeway on a historic route over Stanage Edge.

Enjoying these peaks rides, the terrain is brutal. Makes me want to go back. I did a ride over at Ladybower reservoir a couple of years ago and it was probably the best ride I've ever done.

Cheers mate. Yeah there is some cracking techy riding in the Peaks. Ladybower is a classic riding spot.

One if my local routes. If you ride it again there is another excellent section on the way to redmires. Along Redmire Road there is a bridleway on the right just before the Sportsman pub. This is an excellent techy downhill to the lower reservoir through the woods. This is followed by a fantastic climb up through wyomjng Brook nature reserve. Brings you up on redmires road at the car park near the reservoirs. Much better than the road

nice vid mate. Devils elbow section looked fun. If you had been tubeless you wouldn't have even known you had a puncher. as it would have sealed instantly!!

Did you not do any of the runs in Lady Cannings?.. I really like that loop, There's so many variables to it that you can add..
Bloomin ekkk, loads of walkers out on that day. I always find that there always there when you need the speed or at a very techi part. 😊..

@@Lakedistrictrider I used mapmyride but since I started my channel I use Strava. Seems to be popular choice by youtubers. I shall watch it again and see if I can map it to my Garmin. Just starting to venture out more and totally loved this route

Brilliant stuff Ian. Some techy bits on this one! 👍 Would like to pick your brains if I could. Planning a few days up north at the end of the month and hoping to get in two days of riding on it. Which one fairly long ride from your Lakes book and the Dales book would you recommend? I'm thinking of doing one from each. Cheers.

Cheers Mark. I really like tge Dunnerdale Enduro in the Lakes book. Takes a bit longer to drive there but the trails are great and it is quieter than other parts of the Lakes. The Lake District is heaving this year so avoid the busy spots.
The Howgills Classic in the Dales book is a good one. High level one, great views and really nice singletrack.

I've just done the Dunnerdale Enduro a few weeks ago. I followed the route from Ians' book.
Absolutely brilliant ride, some good techy bits and the scenery was amazing. Like Ian says it's a quiet area of the lakes, so not many tourists about. I'm sure you will enjoy it 👍🏻😎

Tarmac is pretty unavoidable on a Stanage loop. I also ride a road bike so I don't mind a bit of tarmac.

If you the follow the video, and look at a map, just before the road descends and goes round a left hand turn the bridleway is in the woods on the right. Turn off the road drop to a gate, go through then go left through anotger gate and you are on it
