Actually, those lemons are not ruined. Far from it. Did you know you could freeze lemons? I usually cut them in fourths and freeze them separately when they’re defrosted the juices just as good as it ever was.
You’d probably spend over $100 on cartoon decorations at Party City though. Don’t judge people for what they do and assume they won’t use it after for other purposes. Lemons can be used for juice, cleanser, disinfectant, all kinds of things.
@@WildAscensionand lemons are biodegradable! The party decor people buy from stores are usually horrible for the environment. Lemons are not, especially if they are from local farms.
I think this is a silly centrepiece, but to be fair the lemons are not destroyed. They can still be used, although with the holes poked in them, it would have to be within a day or two.
It depends on where you get them. I get a 5 pound bag under 10 at Costco or 49 cent a lemon at Trader Joe’s. The Lidel grocery 3 something for a small bag of lemons about that size. I regularly buy lemons for my smoothies each week..
Just make a bowl full of Lemons without sticking sticks in and you can still stick flowers and leaves in!! Beautiful center piece! Thank You! Great Idea!
Like above you can buy a handful of lemons for around a £1 (sometimes less, depending on where you go) which is like just over $1. I would have just brought a load of fake lemons. Filled the bowl up with them. Fake flowers and leaves and done the same. I’ve used plenty of fake leaves/flowers etc to make things and sometimes the fakes look pretty realistic. I used a load of fake wisteria and ivy to decorate an archway for my sister’s wedding and everyone was pretty impressed with how realistic it was! Was a great piece to take photos
🙄 Virtue signaling. The VA gets their money through taxes which is already her money going to the VA and some people couldn't care less about animal shelters, while there are actual human children still dying of cancer.
I love lemons and love this idea. It's not a waste, lemons are used for all kinds of things like cleaning, scent, etc. I use them in drinking water for health. Luckily, a bag is affordable here in the US, as are bags of apples and oranges. And I'm lower income.
Lol pretty! And not a waste: 1. Slice and freeze indiviual slices. 2. Juice and freeze juice in cube trays. 3. Zest and add Everclear or Vodka for lemoncello (find directions on the google machine).
@adelabarrenos2430 Anyone who is concerned about "waste" and is clocking their own dollars instead of someone else's. I am not implying that this is what you are doing with this comment, but this is my answer.
and 0/8 seconds of it on the dinnerparty table, with all her friends cooing at the genius of decomposing lemons staked out over a rusting pot - so rustic! So CUTE!!! Give me strength 🤦♀️
First it's very pretty. The lemons are not ruined. Once the party is over just cut them open and make juice or cleaner. I have spent a ton on table decorations. This idea is great.
For anyone willing to buy all these lemon for decoration, you can make lemon curd out of them the next day or so. You can freeze it, put it on toast, make lemon curd mousse. The curd is better with Meyer lemons but still good with regular ones. It's still seems like a unnecessary expense and I'd personally do something more low cost, but, hey, it's something to help get a little more bang for your buck if your dead set on this centerpiece.
Why is everyone so negative? If it’s a special event it’s so beautiful and way cheaper than a florist arrangement. She can use the lemons after for lemonade or lemon meringue pie. I think it’s beautiful and brings joy and spreading joy and peace is not a waste.
That is a Great idea. The Peruvian Lillies are a sturdy and long-lasting flower. But word of warning, the leaves, once taken from the stem, will definitely wilt in a very short period of time. Thats why she breezed thru the finished product presentation. You could see the flowers and lemons but not the wilted leaves. Your Florist should Varrigated (cream and green leaves) Pittosporum. It will blend with the lemons and last until you take the arrangement apart.
WOW beautiful looking centerpiece. Love it and I definitely would make lemonade after the party! It's probably less money than buying flowers for a table piece.
Personally I would use fake lemons as I could then put them in storage and bring them back out next summer. Cause this really is cute, but I don’t think I could use that many lemons before they’d go bad and I’d feel bad about wasting them.
Great idea. So much negative comments. You can freeze these same lemons in the original bag they were packaged in. You can use them in different recipes.😊❤
Bye the plastic lemons and glue gun the sticks on it or drill a hole first and then glue gun it and then recycle it. You can use it over and over and over again.
I think it’s beautiful. I often display limes or lemons in my decor. An alternative to this (and more permanent) is to buy dollar tree lemons (2-3 for a dollar) 🍋
We can get a bag of lemons here for $3... I think this is really pretty and also you can still use them lemons after. Everyone listing their minds.. make lemonade.
Hopefully these lemons are washed and used afterwards... I get a bigger bag from Costco under $10... That amount lasts less than two weeks. I blend lemons almost every day. I also blend them whole with reverse osmosis water and berries. Sometimes ginger root and turmeric root a key lime here and there. Watching this maybe she will use after she takes the decoration down...
Sorry, with groceries being so expensive nowadays especially produce, not many of us can afford to waste lemons to decorate a table. It is beautiful though.
Why is everyone complaining so much? After the party, she could just put them in the fridge overnight and then make lemonade the next day. And if she wanted to, she could use the rind and bake something as well, or use some of the juice to make some great fish or pasta dishes. This does not have to be a wasteful scenario for anyone who may want to try this, if they make the right plans ahead of time. You all probably have at least 1 food item rotting in your fridge right now, probably we all do at some point or other.
Ok... This centerpiece is bright and beautiful! Its ok with me that lemons are not free. Use the good dishes, sleep on the company sheets, make something beautiful and enjoy it! 😊You heard me! Go for it!
Poor lemons, wasted
U can make lemonade after the party.
What a waste😢🙆♂️

I did have a lemon tree in my front yard...

Did you check lately how expensive lemons are?
5 lbs for $5.99. Much cheaper than a floral centerpiece.
@@afunlife9601I don't know where you live ,but we get 4 small lemons to a bag for 5.00 or 79cents a piece for the large ones.

Obviously not!!!!
Did you check that its her own money shes spending 😂

Buy the lemons at your local farmers market. It's always cheaper this way.
