Thumbs up if you want the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America in Silvis Illinois to restore 1218 just like 3985. As long as 1218 has a coal to oil conversion.
James--I gather from your videos that you live in or around Roanoke. I was raised there and left in 1963, but still have family there. Any chance of your making a vid of the current turntable/roundhouse at Shaffer's Crossing? Thanks--
Mike, The "Roundhouse" was torn down many years ago replaced with the now nondescript locomotive shop. The turntable is still there along with some of the radial tracks. It's a wasteland compared to the time that you left town. There is a transfer table on the east end of the new loco shop and the fuel rack west of all of the previous servicing area. I'm not opposed to filming the turntable, but, now being retired, they may not want me up there.
