    Thank you for sharing! Really interested in moving to Maine, and starting up in hotshot. Really haven't seen much about rates/loads in Maine. Especially for non CDL.

    • @Jmoffit22
      @Jmoffit22  Місяць тому +1

      Running freight local/regional in any area typically eliminates the ability to stack partials, meaning you mostly haul a single large load. Non CDL will make it tough because your GVWR won’t allow you to carry many available loads. Not saying it’s impossible, it’ll just be a little tougher.
      I would look into different businesses in the area, containers, sheds, cars… will help you decide what trailer to get…
      If I continue to run this lane, a tilt with a winch would be nice…

So much potential. Please whatever you do DON'T listen to me. There's a dude influencer.... a company named piglet. He can absolutely give you even more hope. Which will positively help you stay in this new venture of business. Yeah, i say pull the trigger on that 100K check. Plus all the expenses to remove the FEDERALLY mandated emissions. Please remember to NOT put all that shit back on when you return the vehicle.
      WTF!!! You guys are amazing. 1 guy tells you its great and you believe EVERYTHING the fucking internet says or does. You're worse than a woman. Oh yeah, try not to get butt hurt by my comment. 🤷‍♂️

      It depends on what you’ll be hauling and your budget of course. My trailer being air ride has only gotten me a couple extra loads over the past few months. If you have the money go for it, every little bit helps (air ride, TWIC, tarps, OD, etc.) and research, research… It’s tough out here but even tougher for those who go in blind. Oh, and don’t listen to folks like @bigdog2084 some fellas can’t understand normal thinkin and they just ain’t happy unless they miserable about somethin 😏

      @bigdog2084 I got rid of my big rig 10 years ago and started my hotshot business i just wish I would have done it sooner but live and learn. I was doing great 8 to 9 grand every week then covid hit. I kept on running as usual but things weren't the same. Brokers came more aggressive in screwing truckers, rates in the toilet and it just got worse as time went on. I do about 3 grand a week now which is horrible but that's this industry for ya not to mention FMCSA, DOT, CVSA and the current administration we've got! After 50 years of pounding across this country I've just about had all I can take with all the BS these assholes are trying to shove down our throats! I would not advise ANYBODY to get into the trucking industry right now it just horrible! I'm an independent owner operator with my own rights and authority I don't have to answer to anybody. I do what I want when I want and haul freight that pays nothing less than 3.00 per mile! Some of these so called truckers don't even have a clue what it costs them just to run their truck empty and if you don't have your shit together you might as well get in the bread and cheese line! Another thing hauling this cheap ass freight don't do it let it sit your just asking for trouble. Yes I'm just a dumbass truckdriver but this is how I put food on the table. I look for changes in the near future and there's going yo be a bunch of pissed off so called truckers when it does. I have guys ask me everyday how do I get started hotshoting and my advise is stay away don't do it you'll loose your ass in a heartbeat if you don't know what your doing!
