I would suggest a dry box for emergency supplies for Annie containing some rice, couple cans of pumpkin, gauze bandages, dog safe aspirin, etc. Never know when she might get into something. Emergency veterinarian clinics aren't always readily available.
And to be clear, it has to be real pumpkin, not the pumpkin filling stuff used for pies, etc....real canned pumpkin is great for both diarrhea and constipation...works great.
While you hope to never use that i completely agree. Not to mention personal safety being a key factor, as long as its more reliable than a glock you be good
Dude that this is awesome. I remember you. I gave you a jump start on the beach. you had a little cute dog. and cameras set up. this is so cool wishing you all the best man.
Hey, Josh! Yep, that was me - I remember you too - was so glad for the jump start! LOL Welcome to the channel and thank you so much for subscribing! Thank you for your support and following my journey!
Happy freaking Friday! It's insane seeing how much Jade has transformed in the last year. Thank you once again to all my patreon pledges and subscribers, this would be impossible without you guys! The journey continues!
Hello there Jake i have just started watching your videos, in the video you said that the battery died on Jane, have you ever thought about buying other vehicle batterys for Jane?
I don’t know if you realize this (towards others but I’ll just speak for myself) but because of you I am a way more pleasant person. Good moods and nature in me have SPIKED!. Generally I’ve always been a “good spirited “ person but I’ve always had a tuff time keeping up through adversities like my current situation. Because of a bloody transmission filter which is built into my trucks tranny I am on down time. (But there are positives to that). But yes Jake you have helped tremendously in aiding me to evolve into a better me and I can’t thank you enough for that ..THANK YOU
this is the first video I watched! I was looking into wrangler setups for my 2917JK (Hound) I bought 01/17/17. I've bin addicted to your Channel ever since. It's taken five mounths to catch up to this episode. It's been wonderful to see how you started from someone having a hard time conforming, to being someone who's so proud of what you're doing now. Also great to see the growth of Jake Jade and Annie from the beginning to now. you're doing what a lot of us would hope one day we could do. keep up the good work.
Hey MyKeys - Thank you for your kind words and encouragement and welcome to my channel. Please be sure to subscribe and like "thumbs up" the videos...I always appreciate reading subscriber comments. And if you haven’t already, please complete my 50 State Road Trip Questionnaire so I will have your contact info when I’m in your area as I'd like to see Hounds setup- link in the video description box. Thank you for your support!
Very cool checking out all your stuff, great essential gear! One suggestion for you is to upgrade your first aid kit to something a little more substantial, you never know when you'll need it. Keep the videos coming!
TrailRecon Nice to see the bridging of the jeep and UA-cam community. I started following Jake when I was researching buying my jeep. after I bought the jeep I found your channel and started following your channel .
This is awesome. I've wanted a Wrangler for ages, but since I started dwelling, I didn't think I could fit into one. You managed to fit a ton of stuff with that set up! I love the rear gate lights and awning.
Glad to see its back on the road and in much better shape. Pretty much mechanically solid now and the whine is gone so you can enjoy it! Stretch out and enjoy!
Right on, Jake. Right on. I have a lifted ZJ with a long arm kit as my bug out vehicle. I planned on doing a little building inside to live in... My other Jeep died and went my savings... Seeing you doing this was a great thing. I'm glad I found you.
I loved this video. I've been preparing for a few months. I have an old 4x4 suv that is still going strong. I have about all the gear. Was really interested in your cooler. I think I'm going to use refletix on the interior of my existing one and try that out first. I did get a small fire extinguisher. I didn't thing that would be over thinking it. My first aid kit has lots of what if stuff- gauze, tape, antiseptic, etc...etc..all in a cutesy pink plastic major makeup carrier. Looking to next year for the solar stuff. And everything fits. I stuffed an old sleeping bag with a couple of body pillows and that is my mattress. I have a good sleeping bag that will carry me through cooler summer nights in the Sierras. Love love the awning.
Scykronic sure he is man. Im his cousin so I kind of know...I can see how you would be confused though, with him on the road and traveling. Still it is funny how YOU called ME the idiot, classic UA-cam comment section.
Great video. Hard to believe you can fit all that in a Wrangler and still sleep in it. And you're definitely back in your element. The vlog wasn't the same without Jade. And BTW, she's looking good :D
I used to take my Jeep Wrangler camping I'm in the Society for Creative Anachronism, and we often camp in primitive conditions. I could load in my tent, two big plastic bins, one or two full sized coolers, a big table, chairs, bedding, pillows, my garb, my craft items, and all without taking the seats out of the Jeep. All I did was roll the back seat forward and use that area as cargo. I had a soft top Jeep too. I miss my Jeep. I hit something on the road in a construction area, and apparently cracked the axle. A few weeks later my dad was driving my Jeep, and the axel broke. It would have cost more to fix it than to buy a used car, and since I'm getting older and I was starting to have issues getting in the Jeep.....But I miss my Peggy. My flying horse power.
Shout out to you homie! My dad lived out of the bed of his 1998 ford(with a campershell of course) when he was up here in Idaho, montana, Oregon, etc doing construction. I give you props for being able to do that. Most people would flip out doing something like that
For sure, IF the state he's travelling within allows him to have it on his hip in the vehicle. For instance, In PA, a pistol "open carried", in a vehicle is considered "concealed" and without a PA LTCF or a recognized CCW permit, he needs to store the firearm in a locked container, inaccessable to the driver. The ammo has to be stored separately, as well. Something like the Gunvault Nanovault is a good affordable, compact option. amzn.to/2nv30UH
Do you have a list of your gear posted somewhere? I'm particularly interested in what hatchet, shovel, and storage boxes (on your roof) you use. My kids and I love your vids.
Jorge Galvan I used to work at Home Depot. Those storage boxes look like they could be from there. The garden dept has some seriously good ones. Super sturdy.
Pancakestudios - Thank you so much for the kind words - means a lot! And If you haven’t already, please complete my 50 State Road Trip Questionnaire so I will have your contact info when I’m in your area. I use the completed questionnaires to meet up with the people you see with me in my videos! Here is the link to the questionnaire which I hope you will complete - goo.gl/forms/ZopZP74rkYqGTBhh1 Thank you for your support!
You drive a stick. You don't need a jump. Just push it a little bit, hop in, and then pop the clutch when you put it in gear. As long as the vehicle is moving at a good enough pace, it should start. (Works best on hills)
What a complete set up, impressive!. Upgrade idea, my friend has VW van he installed some cool curtains, they have a track system that attaches to car body, you can find at boat supply or RV store. When the time to replace comes. Now go and explore !
G11B, It brews a distinctively different taste than the French press. It's like calling a V60 the same thing as a bee house or the commonly known pour-over melitta. That said, the French Press is a far better choice due to not needing to pay for the filters and potentially having to have them shipped to you if you're in a part of the country that doesn't sell such a filter.
The AeroPress is awesome, and you can easily re-use the little paper filters several times. If you like your coffee strong, just add more grounds and let it sit a little longer. If you like it weaker, give the first "press" to someone else and just do a second or third press for weaker coffee.
Impressive. Your doggo clearly loves you. Also I'd have a copy of her paperwork handy like her immunizations and records in case you go into Canada or outside the states. Really-the organizing-bravo.
I'm super excited for you man, the Jeep is becoming a very sturdy workhorse and I'm excited for the new adventures that are next. You also really inspired me to go on a massive roadtrip with my Nissan 200SX (240SX in USA) after I graduate next year. Getting so stoked in prepping the car and making plans etc.
I just discovered this channel. Your content is very helpful Jake! I am leaving in about a week on a month long road trip across the country in my Jeep Comanche.
Hey Vinny! Jake is definitely going to swing by but he flys out today for his weekend drill. He'll be heading down south resuming his Calif visit and I know he'll be contacting you early next week!
You can buy a small solar cell with alligator clips that will charge your battery for around $10. It's about 4 inches wide by 12 inches long with around an 8 ft long wire & they work pretty good. Might help you cut down on your waiting time for a boost?
i would watch this whole video but it annoys me trying to watch this video bc it feels like a parody of casey’s vlogs. wish it was more of your own style
Nice setup! Annie seems sweet, and I think it's pretty cool that you named your Jeep "Jade." My roommate has a black dog named Jade that is similar to Annie. I don't know if you have this, but you may want to look into a personal locator beacon if you should ever get lost. They work off GPS, and could tell rescue crews your location, which could be vital during emergencies. Another idea, consider a fishing rod and tackle to have another meal source and for pure enjoyment.
I was thinking to get a jeep wrangler and you have convinced me that this is the optimal decision. just add a kayak and we are good to go. Thanks for the ideas and much props to you and your adventure.
What's your hobby? Picking your nose to videos you don't like between jobs you hate? Cause if jake doesnt have it figured out then your life and "hobbys" must be a fucking mess
As a traveling salesman I have found that Dollar General stores usually have the best spot when you need to take a #2! They may not be the cleanest depending on the type of people they staff their stores with in certain areas and most of the hand you a filthy key attached to a filthy ruler or some other object that you cant fit in your pocket easily but it is a one person room if you are one of the shy guys like myself lol.
Living in your jeep. Thats not for the fainthearted. Well done. I also gave up using a roof top tent so that I could be more mobile for security reasons. Garth Richert. Cape Town.
Rory McCorny - thank you for your kind words. If you haven’t already, please complete my 50 State Road Trip Questionnaire so I will have your contact info when I’m in your area. I use the completed questionnaires to meet up with the people you see with me in my videos! Here is the link to the questionnaire which I hope you will complete - goo.gl/forms/ZopZP74rkYqGTBhh1 Thank you for your support!
I just found your channel, I'm really impressed. I wish I would have had the guts to do something like this when I was your age (I'm 63 now). Just a couple of things I could add. Get rid of the teflon, get some cast iron. It's better for you (teflon is poison if you heat it beyond 400 deg.) and easy to clean (no soap needed) get a small solar panel to keep your battery up while parked. You need more first aid stuff. I keep a very comprehensive 1st aid kit AND a very well equipped Trauma bag also. You may not know how to use everything in it, but if you come upon a bad wreck, it's likely that someone will. Have you thought about insulating your hard top and the floors? Also, if you get stuck in the bitter cold, a hobo stove (metal coffee can and a roll of TP) burning rubbing alcohol is safe to use inside. No carbon monoxide. Crack a window for oxygen. Good luck on your adventures! Tex
Why do I feel the excitement as if I'm the one who's hitting the open road and getting away from the daily grind?? Can't wait to see more of you travels.
Might think of upgrade to alternator for more output and extra underhood battery so you have extra juice to run everything..they also make a solar powered battery maintainer..great setup by the way.
Highly recommend carrying a rifle in jade as well something for any hunting you may have to do nothing too fancy maybe a Remington accurate and reliable
Did you ever need it, or know anyone who has needed a pistol? I'm debating whether or not to get one for protection on the road but have a feeling I'd never use it..
Definitely pack some heat. If you break down in the wrong neighborhood it could mean life or death if you don't have firepower. Stay out of black neighborhoods too.
Ryan b your proboly wont need it but it provides a good peace of mind and guns are cool. If your smart know what to avoid and know how to defend yourself if shit went down no b you dont need a gun but you never know and yet again guns are good. Safe travels
A great upgrade you should do to jade is a duel battery set up so in case you kill jade battery again you have a second one and you will have duel power if you want to when your charging all your things
I would suggest a dry box for emergency supplies for Annie containing some rice, couple cans of pumpkin, gauze bandages, dog safe aspirin, etc. Never know when she might get into something. Emergency veterinarian clinics aren't always readily available.
Biff Tannen just curious what the can of pumpkin is for?
Travis LaRoche It's a good binder for loose stool. Easily digestible.
And to be clear, it has to be real pumpkin, not the pumpkin filling stuff used for pies, etc....real canned pumpkin is great for both diarrhea and constipation...works great.
I would suggest a Springfield in 45 colt....but, that's just me.
Good luck.
👍
While you hope to never use that i completely agree. Not to mention personal safety being a key factor, as long as its more reliable than a glock you be good

for sure man you should have said something that day I would followed then. keep up the awesome blogs.
Josh Nethercott *vlogs* not hating but I just had to correct that
That is just cool. Good job Josh! People do not tend to help people anymore...
Happy freaking Friday! It's insane seeing how much Jade has transformed in the last year. Thank you once again to all my patreon pledges and subscribers, this would be impossible without you guys! The journey continues!

Great video Jake! Really enjoyed it!

Living in a Jeep sounds a lot better than living "In a van down by the river"

You must be so stoked to be hitting the road again. Can't wait to see the coming adventures! Stay awesome Jake!
This mean's I've been watching you for a full year now!
Glad to see its back on the road and in much better shape. Pretty much mechanically solid now and the whine is gone so you can enjoy it! Stretch out and enjoy!
I cant belive how long youve been doing this awesome thing! And i cant belive how long ive been watching!! Its all awesome!!
So awesome that Jade is back up and running. Now it's time for more adventures.
Watch video about guy living out of a old Jeep, get an ad about the Porsche Cayenne Turbo... Good job UA-cam
LOL

She's gone to the woods how's the trip going then?
I did this, then scaled up to a 4runner. The amount of space blew my mind!
100% confident in the assumption that you watch Casey Neistat vlogs.
ahahah i actually came the comments the write the exact same thing is you. this is casey all over!!
Lol was about to say the same, so many things are obviously influenced by Casey!
Definitely, but its actually on of the rare good ones.
Neistat has (apparently) influenced like 90% of vlogs. Unfortunately.
Are you all talking about that guy that looks like he has no teeth or he removed his dentures?
I could absolutely see me and my dog living like this. that's awesome.
"Mild Temperatures, 30-50 degrees." can tell hes a Wisconsinite.
Scykronic sure he is man. Im his cousin so I kind of know...I can see how you would be confused though, with him on the road and traveling. Still it is funny how YOU called ME the idiot, classic UA-cam comment section.
I live in WI too :D
hope your travels are as amazing as they should be. travel safe. don't let the boarders stop you. you have the perfect Geotreking setup.
Great video. Hard to believe you can fit all that in a Wrangler and still sleep in it. And you're definitely back in your element. The vlog wasn't the same without Jade. And BTW, she's looking good :D
awww, the good old days
get a top with a roof. they make roof popups that have a hole to climb in through your sunroof.

Mason Hall - Thank you!
Your handgun case should be a holster on your hip. Be safe out there my friend.
For sure, IF the state he's travelling within allows him to have it on his hip in the vehicle. A gun?? Are you insane or something? That's illegal you idiot
Joe Blow Guns are illegal to carry in public, except for law enforcement.
Do you live in a wilderness or what?
illegal except in the 20 some odd states that open carry of a firearm is legal, and all the other states where concealed carry is legal.
Illegal like in most of the world. Everything doesn't revolve around Murika
These videos of yours get me stoked to get my wrangler so I can live in it a few months out of the year
Do you have a list of your gear posted somewhere? I'm particularly interested in what hatchet, shovel, and storage boxes (on your roof) you use. My kids and I love your vids.
Jorge Galvan I used to work at Home Depot. Those storage boxes look like they could be from there. The garden dept has some seriously good ones. Super sturdy.
Jorge Galvan They look like plano sportsman cases. I believe they're $20 each.
Pretty Sure they're the "Plano Sportsman 1919": amzn.to/2orDqVb
You can purchase the folding shovel on Amazon.

The In3ation or just a bunch of mre's haha
I'm thrilled for you Jake; can't wait to hang in NYC.
You made an appearance on /r/Vandwellers on Reddit! lol go check it out, they seemed impressed with Jade!
William Borgmann *jake
Jade, You've come a long way baby! You look great!
You drive a stick. You don't need a jump. Just push it a little bit, hop in, and then pop the clutch when you put it in gear. As long as the vehicle is moving at a good enough pace, it should start. (Works best on hills)
Ryan Skystorm he was on a beach
Johnny B. Oh! I stand corrected! That makes sense now.
I love the detailed explanation on how to pop a clutch. If you drive stick you're going to know
What a complete set up, impressive!. Upgrade idea, my friend has VW van he installed some cool curtains, they have a track system that attaches to car body, you can find at boat supply or RV store. When the time to replace comes. Now go and explore !
I think you should get solor panels
The production quality of this video is amazing.
JJ J - Thank you!
Your videos are very similar to Casey Neistats vlogs when it comes to style and the way the vlog is layed out.
Tawnee Stone facts
This is my first IAMJAKE vid.... this guy is super inspiring!
Hi, Manda and thank you for the kind words. Thank you for your support and for following my journey!
Good video Casey!! 😂
The one year special! Look how far you've come in a year. Can't wait to see what year 2 brings! CONGRATS!
interested to know how the areo press coffee thing works maybe add it in a video? Does it make a good cup of coffee?
I'm also interested in this. I would love if he made a video or two about coffee haha
Me too I love coffee!
G11B, It brews a distinctively different taste than the French press. It's like calling a V60 the same thing as a bee house or the commonly known pour-over melitta.

Solid video dude! U are ready for anything, I feel the same way about rooftop tents.
You could've gotten a Pontiac Aztec and you already have a house
lol hahahaha lmao those pontiacs are junk. there is a reason he chose a jeep. its reliable.
sullivan richards Pontiac Aztec??? he wants to travel, not fix a car all across America
Statyk Elektro lmao
sullivan richards hahaha they don't get it
Nice to see some fellow DD fans
Impressive. Your doggo clearly loves you. Also I'd have a copy of her paperwork handy like her immunizations and records in case you go into Canada or outside the states. Really-the organizing-bravo.
Pretty average video until you pulled out the aeropress. You know whats up.

I just discovered this channel. Your content is very helpful Jake! I am leaving in about a week on a month long road trip across the country in my Jeep Comanche.
So if I go live in my jeep with my cat and make vids about would I get people to give me money. Ps, I only clicked this vid out of curiosity
As a Jeep TJ owner, this makes me extremely happy. Wow.
Hey dude, my phone died this morning. If you're still going to swing by this way, shoot me a text, I can get texts on my computer.
Hey Vinny! Jake is definitely going to swing by but he flys out today for his weekend drill. He'll be heading down south resuming his Calif visit and I know he'll be contacting you early next week!
Awesome, looking forward to it! =) The kids are so excited to meet Jake and Annie too! Thanks Ken!
And he's excited to meet you all and do some Jeep 4x4 and dirt bike riding!
Hey jake glad to see your on the road again!

Just Channa I think it's combo of having to go 1 And 2 at the same bathroom break.
sickness, either puking or liquid shits

You never lived on the road lol
The movie dirty grandpa explains it
You can buy a small solar cell with alligator clips that will charge your battery for around $10. It's about 4 inches wide by 12 inches long with around an 8 ft long wire & they work pretty good. Might help you cut down on your waiting time for a boost?
everyone, help jake out and smash the like button
Another sweet video, Jake good luck on your trip!!
Ok Casey neistat themed video
Oh videooo I was here 5 years ago tictok made sleeping in your car a trend but u made it a dream years ago 🎉🎉🎉living though u.
i would watch this whole video but it annoys me trying to watch this video bc it feels like a parody of casey’s vlogs. wish it was more of your own style
Jack Viana easy fix for you 😀 stop watching caisy

new forerunners are shit and nearly as dependable as an older jeep.
Yeah aye
I was thinking to get a jeep wrangler and you have convinced me that this is the optimal decision. just add a kayak and we are good to go. Thanks for the ideas and much props to you and your adventure.
Bill P - Thank you!
W.P.S! It amazes me why a person with a home would consider this a viable project. This guy needs a hobby.
white people are always doing the most!
If this isn't a hobby, I don't know what is. This is many hobbies in one! This is freedom from life in a neighborhood. Keep on Jeepin, iamjake!!!
He doesn't have a home idiot.
What's your hobby? Picking your nose to videos you don't like between jobs you hate? Cause if jake doesnt have it figured out then your life and "hobbys" must be a fucking mess
Black people woudn't understand something like this. It requires too much ambition.
I remember watching your videos when it had 5K views. So proud of you!!!🙏🏻
corndog984 - Thank you!
This video got me pumped! glad to see you are back at it!
I can't believe how you fit all that in there. I'm so looking forward to your Vlogs on the road now. Travel safe 👍
its crazy that I've been watching you for over a years now.
So cool you do this all in your Jeep !
It's so awesome to see how far you have come from when you started this whole crazy adventure.
Jay_Wicked - Thank you!
Living in your jeep. Thats not for the fainthearted. Well done. I also gave up using a roof top tent so that I could be more mobile for security reasons. Garth Richert. Cape Town.
The Tradition Continues. .... great stuff Jake.

Thank you for your support!
I'm so proud of you! Keep living your dream!
The cooking set up is sweet, but might I suggest a jetboil. By far one of the most efficient stoves in a compact form.
YOU THE MAN!!!!!
be safe and free brother
I can't believe it's been this long......... Wisconsin Bois stand up!
Just a man living however he wants to! Much love buddy drive safe.
Aaron Manning - Thank you!
wow man, I lived in my 4wd nissan patrol for 2 years. Very similar setup although my patrol a bit longer. Nice work dude, cheers from Australia
I cant wait for your travels to get going again ! So excited
Tex
Hey Tex and thank you for the suggestions and for your support!
The starting mark of this amazing journey started on my birthday
Loving the set up! Awesome to see how you grew over the year
Cannabis Cocina - Thank you!
Thinkin about livin in my van but still so much WORK!! Cheers man!
Why do I feel the excitement as if I'm the one who's hitting the open road and getting away from the daily grind?? Can't wait to see more of you travels.
This is honestly exactly the freaking coolest thing ever. I'm doing this one day. Subscribed
Logan Ward - Thank you!
Might think of upgrade to alternator for more output and extra underhood battery so you have extra juice to run everything..they also make a solar powered battery maintainer..great setup by the way.
You're kicking life in the ass. Good job.
Highly recommend carrying a rifle in jade as well something for any hunting you may have to do nothing too fancy maybe a Remington accurate and reliable
Awsome man..you're living the jeep lovers dream. If you're ever in Kentucky or southeastern Tennessee look me up..
Glad to see you on the move man
thanks for sharing.
I personally carried a S&W 686 (.357) when i lived in my truck and drove coast to coast.
Thanks for documenting and sharing your journey!
A great upgrade you should do to jade is a duel battery set up so in case you kill jade battery again you have a second one and you will have duel power if you want to when your charging all your things
