    Could you say that actually there's been an increase in the equal persecution of women and men because crimes are just crimes and aren't particularly gender assigned crimes anymore?

    Are you a teacher? If not, can I suggest that you consider it?
    You explain things extremely well, and I am struggling with sociology.
    Thanks ;)

    If the liberationist view apply’s to society today , why isn’t the numbers of both gender commitment of crime the same ? #sociology4ever #sociologyrules

    Why would men attempt to try and demonstrate there masculinity through violence. And what sort of crimes would they commit to support this theory.

    Have there been any more up to date theories and studies that are more modern than 2015?

    When it comes to gender being taken into consideration for crimes due to childcare responsibility couldn't this also be the same for single fathers also trying to provide for their children?

      That would be an excellent evaluation. The increas ein modern man and maternity/stay at home fathers due to more symmetrical families would mean if the theory was correct, male crime such as that should increase.

    Up to 1960 most of the work available was in Factories or buildings...the work that men did was heavy manual work..typing jobs were middle-class jobs for women...most men in the 1901 or 1911 census are down as labourers...pulling, pushing and lifting...that is in Ireland..unless a man set up a shop of some kind..So physical strength was also required for farming..which is not the case today...most jobs can be done by either sex..The problem with sociology is that it takes the 21st century on a 20th or 19th century world..pre the Pill and modern machinery and technology

      To say that most jobs can be done but most genders is a bit of a push, all of those jobs still exist today and are still overwhelmingly male dominated

    Why are men seen to be less caring about their children compared to women

    • @stephenjoelsociologyandhis5686
      @stephenjoelsociologyandhis5686  4 роки тому

      Maternal instincts. Women are generally seen as the care giver and becuase they have the bond with a child through birth etc. Men however don't have that 'natural' maternal bond.

    Is normative masculinity based on the ideologies of different cultures or is it fixed to all cultures?

    • @stephenjoelsociologyandhis5686
      @stephenjoelsociologyandhis5686  4 роки тому

      Different. There are many cultures that masculinity is less important (testosterone is biological though remember) so this doesn't help explain male crime. Can you think of/find any examples of these types of cultures?

    Would an evaluation for men being less caring, violent, the traditional, stereotypical role is that it is outdated ("new man")? And maybe now these attitudes are a product of sociolisation and culture, not biology?
