Like everyone else. The first time I saw the Baphomet It was horrifying. Like some kind of evil roach god from hell. But in reality it is very innocent and loaded with positive symbolism. Basically it tells you how to pray and how the physical world interacts with the spiritual world.
Just by understanding that the goat symbolizes natural desire like little pigmy goats romping through a spring field full of flowers, and the wings mean exactly what they mean when you see an image of an angel.
Draw the Baphomet as a Bunny or Kitten instead and add a few flowers here and there and it would have the same meaning but would look less intimidating.
The modern day Satanists and pop culture use of the image are very misleading. Anybody anywhere that thinks the Baphomet is a god or actual Animal is lost and would be better off worshiping spongebob.

Solve et coagula in latin means "Separate and join together" or "dissolve and coagulate" not "As above, so below".
To me this means: We can become god or at least enlightened if we separate from wordly problems and possessions as well as our dependence to human institutions (such as churches) we can join together or even become like god. It is a symbol deeply rooted in the ideals of enlightenment and can also be seen as a representation of science and the wish to find truth.

My brother gifted me this statue. It has its own little podium in my living room. We both also have Solve and Coagula tattood on our arms.
Coagula, if its of any help is pronounced "ko-a-gyooluh". It references breaking down in alchemy, Solve (dissolve), and building back up (coagula(te)). I hope this helps!

There was a Christian historian/Knight during the time of the Crusades of the Middle East who wrote a letter to the Pope of the time he described within it a fight between Knights Templar and the Muslims, he said that they (the Saracens/Muslims) “called upon their Baphometh while we (the Knights) silently prayed to God in our hearts”. You see Christians during the Middle Ages had a very bad view of Islam, they genuinely believed that we Muslims worship a pagan deity called Termagant (which is a completely made up name it’s not even Arabic nor does it have any meaning to it) or that we worshipped our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) or in some cases Satan himself, which is ABHORRENTLY wrong as you no doubt know. And so the historian who wrote the that letter actually misheard the name Mahomet which is the Latin name of the Holy prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and instead thought Muslims were saying baphomet and thus concluded that we were worshipping a pagan deity which was called as such by the Muslims (and not “Targum” as the Christians believed before) while we Muslims worship GOD Almighty just like those cursed crusaders who used to call us heathens while it is they who are heathens cause they worship Jesus and Mary who BOTH were blessed human beings no more than that and who pray to idols and crucifixes. While if you enter a Muslim mosque you won’t find SHIT it’s empty we don’t even have images or paintings let alone idols because TRUE Muslims who aren’t hypocrites truly fear God and won’t do such a horrid sin. I also believe this letter was written well before the incident of the Knights Templar you know the bullcrap story that was made up by the Church deliberately of how they were worshipping this “Baphomet” the “Muslim pagan deity”. It was all a crazy conspiracy made up against them purposefully by the Pope. The Knights probably just converted to Islam which ironically promoted the worship of GOD. The same Father the Christians put their Faith in. Here’s an excerpt of the letter: “As the next day dawned, they called loudly upon Baphometh; and we prayed silently in our hearts to God, then we attacked and forced all of them outside the city walls.”

He wants you to know that he would rather you didn’t say his name so many times. It catches his attention more than necessary.
You seem to describe him pretty well from my understanding, although I don’t have much experience with him. I had very little knowledge of him when I met him. I did not call into him, or summon him intentionally.
He didn’t seem to be good or evil, yet he feels as if he has great potential to be either, or both. He seems fair and honest (remember I have very limited experience with him), however I imagine that he is something different to different people. He accepts sacrifices (I’ve never offered one personally). I can only remember the area from his chest and neck. He did not have breasts like a woman exactly. His chest was extremely powerful, and his skin was jet black and leathery looking, but far stronger than anything that could be described as leathery. He is much larger than men (I imagine about 13-16ft tall, and has noticeably superb posture. He was shrouded in darkness, but he did not feel like darkness, but more like poise and intelligence. I did not sense ego, or a sense of superiority. Quite the contrary. I don’t think that he is big on seeking attention. That’s mostly all I know on the matter.
I’ll give it to you. You definitely show signs of a gifted and keen spirit. That’s very rare in my experience. Curious

I don't know much about Baphomet, but I can tell I like him.
I do not worship baphomet but I respect him as a deity. He is beautiful and is an interesting deity. If I did worship him, my family would shun me and say hes the devil. They are only ok with the deities I already worship and work with. But much live and respect to you Lunar wisdom and as well Baphomet ❤.

I love that Baphomet statue and soon hopefully I'm going to find one for my altar as well and btw the word coagula is latin for coagulate which of course solve and coagula are alchemical words used in alchemy for solving and changing coagula is pronounced (co agg you lah) if you ever needed help with pronouncing the word but yeah as you embrace the image of Baphomet I embrace you for it and hopefully you can put out more videos to teach others about Baphomet so people wont be so quick to judge also as I forgot to mention Baphomet is far more ancient than what we actually do know he is also the lover of mother gaia and was worshipped by the paleolithians in the eon where he was known as the horned god but he also has 5 other eons in which he has been known to be pan, cernunnos, the green man, the sun, and of course by Christians hes been called satan because they demonized him through misunderstanding of what he was really about and were too quick to judge and in this eon a lot of people do not know him at all he is simply a mysterious deity to many religions

captainAUBS I could have earlier this year but the hard drive on the PC I was using at the time was corrupted and I lost all the research information (and personal photos) that was stored there. Unfortunately I did not have a back up either (don't get me started on that issue). I know I gathered some information from online as well as a few books (PDF form) that either people sent me or was available online.

I wanted to get a small basic tattoo of the Baphomet, just because I thought it looked cool and I sometimes drew it in pentagrams when I drew little funny satanic cartoons.. but tbh I had no idea what it even meant, I just went off of what I saw in movies of how it was portrayed as an evil worshipping goat and what my religion (Catholic) told me it was, which was evil. But this is so interesting to me and I really like the statue. I’ll definitely be doing more research on this.

I’m still trying to figure out what I believe in but I do know that I believe in god and like god. I do really think that baphomet and some of these other things are interesting but I am not sure if it would be appropriate to like both them and Jesus , or just get into and learn more about this stuff.

Personally, I feel that for the most part, we created the gods, not the other way around. So with a diety or idol like Baphomet, it's all about your personal interpretation. He has a lot of balanced symbolism (ex. breasts and phallus, as above so below, human and animal parts, etc.) I think those elements are very misunderstood and prejudiced. But as a whole, everyone will interpret the connotation of a diety's motifs differently. Hope I offered a bit of knowledge to those saying "He means this..." Everyone has different eyes :)

Yes. It is just a symbol that lays out how to pray. Not a single temple knight ever believed there was ever a god or animal like the Baphomet. And they never worshiped it. Instead it was a reminder of what takes place when you pray effectively. It was never intended to look scary. the goat is about innocence and natural desire.

From what I understand, most academic circles agree that Baphomet was a medieval French misspelling of the name Mohammed. When the king of France and the pope conspired to dismantle the Knights Templar on Friday 13, October, 1307, the official charge was heresy. Supposedly the Knights worshipped this idol among other things. Since then conspiracy theorists(fanboys) of the whole affair continued to fan the flames. The truth of the matter is unknown to me, as I was still in eastern Europe at the time. I have little doubt that Baphomet has since achieved a life of its own, if there wasn't something before. Still, it is a lovely piece of art and I find your interpretation of it most intriguing. Thank you for sharing, Cricketsong.
Thank you for sharing. I did read about the Old French corruption of the name of Mohammed (Mahomet). It was very interesting to me. I've also read that the name was a combination of the Greek words baphe and metis which translates to absorption and wisdom.

What a great statue - I've never had the instinct to work with Baphomet myself, but I enjoy calling upon Hermes/Mercury to align with some similar or associated energies. I find the caduceus to be a very reassuring image and idea, in particular, as it is the traditional symbol of medicine and healers (my parents as well as many of my family members are doctors, and so it is for me a way to honor and open myself to my ancestors). The Goat part is a kin to Capricorn, which is associated with “climbing”, “scaling upward” such as what a split hoove animal can do and ascending in places that most animals can not go. Also this sign is an Earth sign and all Magick in one form or another is essentially Earth Magick; as humans use it to master Earth.

Hey Its me again margaret!! Lol this whole thing is hard for me so let me just jump into it! Since you are so awsome and informative and full of re minders. I was avoiding this video since I found your channel. Its probably the driving force of my stray into solitude before I just stopped practicing for a while and in thst time i had alot of trama and loss. First you have to understand that tho I always felt called to the occult esoteric, lunar working, and even fairy magic since i was 3 or 4, I stayed within the church. I was raised baptist till early teens when I wondered from church to church and settled a year or two in a penticostal church. (untill they told me i must get rid of and burn all my rock musuc my whole collection of that and my unicorns)..... I shit! They cornered me one day to annoint me and this song running with the devil came on the radio. I recognized the tune and hit the power button and ran! So tho Ive not been back to church but once since I do really resonate with Jesus christ. I know this probably sounds awful coming from a proclaimed witch. But I also dont believe in religion as a whole. Or anything that man has organized and said or else something bad like hell will happen. I believe more in chaos because thats how things feel to me. I feel that most spells are manipulative and may interfere with mother natures balance. I really dont want to mess with that unless I absolutly have to. Like with healing. I feel like we are here spirits in manifested human form to learn. We are all a part of a whole the way all on earth is a part of her or how all of our cells are a part of the whole of us. I also believe in the what you send out you also get back.... Tho seems i rarely see this. So I feel im a walking contradictions. It honestly brings me to tears because ultamatly I want to bring healing and love. And I believe I magick. I think just the flutter of a bats wing or butterfly wing is magic... The way we breath, our heart beat the softness of an old ladys hands, the orb weavers web, the birth of a child, the death of a long lived elder, the way the universe keeps a chaotic balance. Being that I was raised in a Roman Catholic home (received all appropriate sacraments, attended a Catholic High School and considered becoming a Nun) and then attended a Methodist Church, and finally was baptized a Jehovah's Witness BEFORE finding home within paganism I think I can have some understanding of your contradictions. I think that your "problem" or struggle lies in FEAR and GUILT that organized religions love to use to control their members / followers. But I also believe that your FEAR and GUILT is going to be personal to you. So even though you and I may have been raised Christian the FEAR and GUILT I hold within me will be different that yours and as we travel our personal paths in Paganism and Witchcraft we will be asked to gaze upon the image of Bapthomet and delve into the darkness and illuminate with our own light and that of Nature (the gods) so that we can be freed from these limiting restraints that were laid upon us by MEN. For me Baphoment isn't a deity to be worshiped or honored. It is a representation of The Universe so whether or not I have the statue on my altar doesn't change how I practice my Craft.

I've been studying Baphomet for a few months now and my research has lead me to stumble across some very, very strange (to me) information and standpoints on Baphomet. The correct pronunciations are "BAF-oh-MAY," (coming from the French) "SOHL-vay" and "ko-AYE-gyoo-lah" (both Latin, "break-down" and "bring-together," respectively. "Solve" is the root of "dissolve," meaning to "render back to basic, individual component parts," and "coagula" is the root of "coagulate," which is what blood is doing when it clots.

I do recognize there is a point where we branch off and travel a different path - Satanist on the Left and Wicca traveling not completely on the Right but more of a Crooked Path sometimes focusing on the Left while other times on the Right.

"Mahomet" is the name used by freemasons for 'Muhammed', frequently found in the Morals & Dogma of Albert Pike, it is VERY similar and almost too similar a word to just be a 'coincidence'.

If you think this is a sign then you should take it as such. No one can really tell you what is and what is not a sign from a particular god or spiritual entity as they will appear to you as they are meant to. And I do not know anything about sobek.

Hello. Baphomet came to me last night. I woke up because I had to use the restroom, and there he was floating right beside my bed! A few seconds later, he vanished. I reached for my phone to check the time and it was 3:00am. Any ideas as to why he would come to me?

I feel that he/she is pure manifestation and is a symbol of the enlightened man/ woman but since this powerful symbol has been used many times for negative magick wouldn't the rule of contagion apply ..? though your intentions and energy may be good could it call in other wise ?? Baphomet is a very misunderstood deity. He is the father of all gods and goddesses,he was never evil or dark nor was he ever known as Satan til Christianity came along in the fourth eon. But even still baphomet and Satan are not the same and never will be as baphomet is much more ancient than the Christian concept of Satan. One who wishes to learn of baphomet truly should seek him spiritually to find the answers they seek and learn to not be afraid of his being for he's a very loving god. I myself personally worship him and work with him cause of everything he symbolizes truthfully and there is no other I would follow when it comes to baphomet as he is also 7 God's in one form/one body and he rules over 5 kingdoms in life people are only scared of what they don't understand especially when it comes to baphomet who indeed is very very ancient as time itself
